Good day folks.

I was just going through the new GM Course as I am wanting to be a GM and I noticed that the Star Chart link doesn’t work. It gives a 404 error.

So far this is the only issue I have found with the new GM Course. Great work!

Not to be nit picky, but section B question 2 I feel is in the wrong place. When you are creating your sim outline and following the questions you are not ready to explain the series of clues to get the crew from point A to B. I feel that this question is best suited as question 4 and just bump the other questions up.

The link works internally. I can’t remember why it doesn’t work as an external link, so I will deal with that later. It’s easily accessible from the MOTD for now.

As for question 2, it does work there because there’s no one way to construct a sim. Let me explain the thought process here:

Question 1- your idea, who is involved, where you need extra side simming to keep groups busy (plot b’s)

Question 2- What are the major plot points that go along with this story?

Question 3- Establishing your GMing voice (will often give a crew a good hint about your style)

Question 4: Use those plot points from 2 and see where the story naturally breaks into a the rise and fall pattern of a story. These are often the hooks that move you from one chapter to the next in a novel, but will be much bigger events/reveals.

If you naturally think in acts, go ahead and start there and come back to the other. There’s no wrong order to compose these Section B questions, so long as they are in the same order so the Tutor can mark them. Most experienced GMs develop their own particular way of structuring their sims and it can take either of these approaches, or something entirely differently.
