Compose a story based on the discovery of a diary. MAX 50 words.


Here’s my effort - 50 words exactly :)

Tired and battered, we sheathed our weapons. Hrogah the Beastlord, and his followers, were dead. We paid a hefty price for our victory, however, and while our healer did her work, we searched the cave that passed for Hrogah’s ‘throne room’ for Mantir the Magnificent’s Diary.

“Here it is …”

Sunlight motes floated in the old attic and her hands trembled as she opened her grandmother’s diary. It was written during the time she had dated Grandfather during the second World War. The first entry read, ” I said goodbye to him at the train depot, waving until the train vanished.”

They said it was my diary. I had nothing except this. Relearning was one thing, but relearning my life? People told me I wasn’t the same after the accident. What could I say? I had no clue as to who I was. But honestly, did they? Only one way to know. …

And that’s 50 words for me. ;)
