To meet the 50,000 words by the end of November, the average words a day is 1667(actually 1666.6 recurring words a day, but as we’re writers, not scientists or mathematicians, we don’t care about decimals and round to 1667 :). Targets for each day are as follows
Day Words 1 1,667 2 3,333 3 5,000 4 6,667 5 8,333 6 10,000 7 11,667 8 13,333 9 15,000 10 16,667 11 18,333 12 20,000 13 21,667 14 23,333 15 25,000 16 26,667 17 28,333 18 30,000 19 31,667 20 33,333 21 35,000 22 36,667 23 38,333 24 40,000 25 41,667 26 43,333 27 45,000 28 46,667 29 48,333 30 50,000 Of course, these are targets only, and assumes you are going for 50,000 words. There will be days you write lots and days you don’t write much (or anything). Just do what you are able, and remember, life happens, the power goes out, a freak accident results in your grand uncle Pedros having something sharp and pointy sticking out of his left big toe and you need to get him to ER (or wait with him until the ambulance arrives), things will happen, and you need to do what’s best for yourself. We’re here to cheer you on and commiserate with you. Either here on the forums or in the STF discord. Most of the regions have their own discord servers this year, the invites to them should be on the Nano website (as horrible as that site is).

I achieved 6393 words day 1 - which puts me ahead by almost 3 days.

Up to 8342 at end of day 2 - still ahead - aiming for 10,000 by end of today, which will maintain three days ahead.

Didn’t get to the 10,000 words on day 3, distracted by auditing stuff and preparing financials for AGM for charity. So no real writing, not even for work.
I did get to 8590 words though, which is still ahead, just 2 days, not 3. Also, the sealed section of the Nano effort began today.

End of Day 4 and I got past 10,000 words! 2 days ahead.
Total is 10,394 at end of day 4. Better than where I am at this time most weeks.

I only got a couple of hundred words yesterday for day 5. Most of the day was taken up by compiling the financials - 82 pages later full of numbers. :P
But words is words, and I’m still in front. Looking forward to increasing my lead over par on the weekend.
