Drudoc’s eyes seemed to take this in and she gripped her captain’s chair snapping out. “..Temporal shields NOW! Helm emergency evasive to starboard!!” it seems Trainor’s temporal shield charging modifications with engineering earlier to switch from normal to temporal would be put to the test as the deadly devices raced in....

“Pulling up temporal shielding now, Captain!” The OPS Officer called out. He was hoping to see a serpent or two in action, but knew he fared better away from the coolant foam.

Sadie finished her analysis, grasping onto her chair as the ship rocked. “Captain, I think I might be near a solution!” she exclaimed.

No sooner had she spoke then Sadie’s report came back, an anti-taychon pulse from the main deflector on a broad spectrum band would likely have a high chance of countering whatever was emitting the dimensional portal.

Chris was going full throttle keeping everything balanced as the comm at his station chirped in:

=/\= NE Jameson to Chief Emmitt. W-we’re down here in the torpedo room sir.. Deck 36. NLt Pavarnick says we’ve been boarded? T-there’s only 4 of us here sir .. please send help! =/\=

His concern for the Engineers immediately stopped him in his tracks for a moment. They needed a security team, they weren’t trained for anything like this. He replied to the Engineers, if anything to keep them calm and focused. They should be in Torpedo room one .. The second room was a bit of a distance away, but who knows how many of the serpents just boarded? He hit the comm button.

=/\= Ensign this is the Chief. Use the override and change the settings for the torpedo room to use all of Torpedo room 1’s torpedoes first! You’ll need to pull the panel off the loading sequencer to get access to it. We might have a delay in the firing sequence, but we can’t let any of those torpedoes get damaged. I’ll alert Tactical and Security. Help is on the way guys, stay safe. =/\=

“Captain! I have a solution! An anti-taychon pulse from the main deflector on a broad spectrum band!” Sadie exclaimed, getting the ship ready to emit the pulse at his command.

“Should I send the pulse now, sir?” Sadie asked. She had been about to do it, but as soon as she had been, they had warped away and her chance was lost.

“Send it, Lieutenant. Security - status report on repelling boarders. Engineering - Damage report. Tactical - How many Serpent ships are left? Science - status report on the pulse effectiveness every 30 seconds, please.”

”..Do it, Lieutenant..” Drudoc replied, echoing the XO’s orders.

“I’ll reroute extra power to the main deflector dish.” Lieutenant Trainor stated. The young officer was impressed with science officer’s suggestion, and hoped the plan worked. “You should be ready now, Sadie.” Tenzing stated, after getting the green light.

He remotely started to enter some of the system for Torpedo room two and started the lockdown procedure as well. It would stall whoever tried to access it, but at least it would provide some time for Security to get down there to hopefully secure the area.

As he was scrambling across his panel trying to keep everything going and secure the torpedo control center and the second room he mentioned aloud. “Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Tiglath .. but we’re about to have a delay in our torpedo firing sequence here soon. Should be about .. a second or two after initiation. Damnit ..” The switch to the temporal shielding took a portion of their power that he ensured the normal shields would maintain a consistent charge away that he had anticipated on keeping for the reserves. A switch back would take another portion of it as well. It couldn’t be helped, better to run a bit low on power than to be dead, he’d have to find a way to compensate for it. As long as the warp reactor was working he’d have power. “We have to use all the torpedoes in torpedo room one first.” He spoke up a bit louder to get the Captain’s attention, “Captain. I’m getting reports from Engineering on Deck 36. I think during the switch in shielding they managed to get a transport in. We’ve been boarded. Unknown number of assailants.”

Tiglath thought quickly. “Try taking power from the aft phaser array.” He suggested then looked at the captain. “Sir, permission to take a security team down.”

”..Get moving lieutenant…” Drudoc said, as the ark Angel banked hard, and just in time the temporal shields came online again a split second before the temporal torpedo impacts. The ship shuddered and shields were reduced further to 62% but they were still in temporal sync with this time period and reality....plus existing so that was good!

On screen too the Merrimack meanwhile was banking to a z-axis aiming for an out of system warp jump, drifting from a forced ejection of their shuttle bay was one of their XO’s subspace bombs he had concocted. Drudoc seeing this spoke up, “..Helm emergency warp out of the system now!” Then as NE Vills took over the tactical station she added, “..Fire Red Matter torpedoes full spread to detonate on that bomb!” She said.

With that final command given the ship lept to warp as on sensors a massive shockwave was picked up with the system, the subspace interference masking any outcome of the coupled weapon’s impacts together.

Once the ark Angel had escaped the blast radius, reports soon came in that the boarding parties of the Serpents had it seems dropped dead one by one. Casualties were light mostly burns and wounded where they had boarded or the ship had taken damage. “..Bring us about, and back to the system. Keep shields and weapons raised and at the ready, scan for Serpent life signs..” She said.

As the Ark Angel returned to the system, they dropped out of warp just after the Merrimack had done the same, the two ships soon picked up the Merrimack away team on the rubble of the third moon protected from its destruction by the twin blasts of the two ships and red matter by some kind of high energy shielding.

A moment later as things cleared up the Merrimack hailed them on audio. Once Drudoc had NE Bills put her through she said, =/\= Yes Commander, everything ok on your end?=/\= She asked.

=^=Aye Captain, except we need to mount a rescue party for our crew who was on the moon when it disintegrated. They’re in some kind of force field bubble.=^= Kord responded

=/\= Understood commander, we’re dealing with some clean up of a boarding party on our end, is there any help you require?=/\= she asked

=^=I can not say for certain Captain.=^= Kord replied to Drudoc.

=/\= Understood Commander, let us know if we can assist..=/\= She said.

“Captain, I’ll be sending you a ship wide damage report as soon as the departments report back.” Lieutenant Trainor announced. He didn’t expect a long list of damages, but knew a few systems would need to be repaired.... or at least cleaned out, after the coolant suppressant was released.

”..I want a full report ready from all department heads in 2 hours, Lieutenant. Lieutenant Sadie begin temporal calculations to return us to our own century once we finish up things here..”

GM CockRoach

Chris sighed, finally able to relax a bit. He tugged the cuffs of his shirt down a bit closer to his wrists while he watched his panel. Minor damages to the hull, which wouldn’t be to hard to repair thankfully. The serpents caused a bit of damage internally before they were stopped with the coolant suppressant. The damage control teams were already working on getting everything cleaned up and repaired. A few EPS conduits had ruptured from the impact sites, but it wasn’t anything serious that couldn’t be re-routed. “Lieutenant Trainor? The damage control teams are already working on the majority of issues, should be able to have a list of damages here shortly for everyone..”

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

“Thanks, Emmitt.” Tenzing replied. “A few of my guys have already checked in with your section chiefs, so we’ll be able to get these repairs done faster.” The Lieutenant added.

“In the meantime, I have a team compiling a list of needed replacement parts....so that should be finished once we get the final update.”

Tiglath returned to the bridge a few minutes later. He saw the XO and approached him. “Commander, as soon as we went to warp, these creatures just dropped dead. It would seem that they have a limited range, and are controlled like puppets on a string.” he explained when the XO had a moment.

-CTO

Cochrane looked at the CTO and listened as he spoke. “That’s… interesting. Maybe that is an indication of a central hive mind or something. Thanks for the information, Lieutenant. Good looking out. I’ll let the Captain know. And can you give me a status report on all weapon and tactical systems asap, please?”

Cochrane, XO

The mentioning of a hive mind by the XO brought Trainor’s attention over to the Borg. The Lieutenant quickly wiped that thought out of his head as he focused his attention back to getting an updated list of damages to the Captain.

A second thought occurred to Cochrane right then, and he turned back to Tiglath. “Lieutenant, have Security teams quarantine all Serpent remains and get Science on scene to move them to the labs to begin autopsies. Tie in Medical as well, if you would please.”
