It was several weeks later since the Ark Angel had returned to their own timeline from their last mission with the Merrimack. Things had been quite quiet with the ship in dock at Starbase 243 with the crew having enjoyed some R&R while waiting for their next mission. Now after 2 hours in a briefing with Commodore Sharp from HQ’s Exploration Division, Fleet Captain Andone returned to the bridge heading for the briefing room off the bridge, making a ship wide announcement. =/\= All Senior Staff, mission briefing in 10 minutes in the briefing room..=/\= She said letting the door take her from the bridge view. Her voice was calm an controlled as always but unlike their last serious mission was more relaxed.

Kalitta had just finished her batleth training exercises in the holodeck when she heard the call from the captain. She then hurried back to her quarters to change and freshen up a bit and put on her Star Fleet uniform. As much as she preferred her klingon uniform she had gotten used to wearing a Star Fleet uniform. Once changed she made her way to the turbolift. She checked the chronometer on the wall panel, She still had three minuets to get to the meeting.

The turbolift doors opened and she stepped in =/\= Deck one Bridge. =/\= The turbolift began to hum as it traveled to the bridge deck. The turbolift doors opened with a quiet hiss and Kalitta stepped out. The bridge was a little larger than she had expected. Infact she made the mental note that it was likely the perfect size for when it would be full of staff at all the stations. She then made her way to the briefing room. The doors opened up automatically for her. She seen the Captain in the room.

“Captain, pleasure to finally officially meet you, I am Lt. Cmdr Kalitta the CMO and permanent exchange officer I’m sure you were informed about.” She then extended her hand in the standard greeting for a hand shake.

”..Indeed Commander, welcome aboard..” she said turning from her view out the windows of the room. “..Please take a seat or get a drink of you wish until the others arrive..”

Cochrane heard the call from his office where he was conducting a disciplinary review of a young Lieutenant. “Lieutenant, this is simple. Just do your job to the best of your abilities. Doing that requires you to be on time. I’m not going to formally reprimand you; but you need to get your head on straight. Next time you are late to Engineering, it’s a formal reprimand and I’ll haul your aft section in front of the Skipper. Got it?” he said sternly. “Understood, Sir!” she replied standing in the at-ease position in front of his desk. “Good. Dismissed.” and she came to attention, did an abrupt about face and left his office. Cochrane stood and grabbed the PaDD with his report on the crew member and, retrieving his coffee, made his way to the conference room.

Entering the room, he looked at Andone and said “Morning, Captain. Hope your meeting with Exploration yielded some good results.” and then looked at Kalitta. “Morning, Doctor. Nice to see you again.” and he took his seat next to the Captain’s end of the table. He sat the PaDD before her and said “Disciplinary report on Lt. Farnsworth, Ma’am. Nothing formal, just a heads up.”

”..Hmm, remind Lt Farnsworth this is his second warning in the past month on this matter, any further slip ups even slight will see disciplinary marks on his record..” she said.

Lieutenant Trainor was next to join the meeting. The OPS officer had been busy the past several weeks trying to help Engineering get the systems back to normal. Tenzing was aware that there must be a new mission for the Ark Angel, and was hoping it wasn’t going to send them to the front lines again.

“Morning everyone.” Tenzing said, still in the process of waking himself up.

”..Good morning Lieutenant. Late night?” Drudoc said.

Sadie was sitting in her quarters and praying when the summons came. She cleaned up the incense quickly and put on her uniform, then quickly made her way up into the meeting room. She slipped into the chair that had been installed especially for her - the seat of the chair was higher than those of most of the chairs in the meeting room, which helped her with her small stature to sit at an equal level to the other people in the meeting room. “Good morning,” she said cheerfully, obviously not in such a sleepy state as some of the other people in the room.

”..Good morning Lieutenant. Good to see someone awake this morning..” She said with some humor to her smile.

Roux arrived shortly thereafter, having to raise her head a bit to figure out who was already in the room. A characteristic smile was dancing across her lips, neither complacent nor genial, merely neutral and considerate of what was around her. Sensible, one might say would be a better word. “Good morning, Miss Sadie,” Roux offered a nod to the CSO, taking a seat nearby. Settling down, she nodded to the others, crossing her legs at the ankles, her hands clasped in her lap, fingers lacing over themselves. Roux was drowsy, but alert enough to pay attention, simply not to be spiffy and happy-go-lucky.

Tiglath arrived next. Prior to receiving the call for the meeting he was working on a letter to his uncle back on Earth. He wasn’t happy with the letter, as it also mentioned his estranged brother. He and his brother didn’t get a long well and havn’t spoken to each other in years and the last time they spoke they came to blows. Entering the room to took a look around at who all was present.

“Morning,” he greeted everyone then found an empty seat to sit down. He looked a little tired and grumpy, but he at least tried be pleasant.

Kalitta was sitting in her chair watching everyone stream in to the briefing room. “Does anyone know what this is about?” She asked as she attempted to get herself comfortable in her chair.

“Probably new mission briefing, Doctor. I doubt the brass want to keep us idle too long.” Cochrane replied.

Sadie relaxed quietly as she waited for whatever announcement or briefing was to happen.

Roux was a fairly hyperactive person, finding it somewhat difficult to stay still for an extended amount of time. Quietly, she tapped her fingers against her knee, beneath the table. She didn’t like people knowing she suffered from a hyperactive disorder, so she was sort of a sneaky person about it. Sporting that drowsy smile, she tapped along to the beat of ‘The Other Side,’ which was from a musical she had recently become infatuated with. Quietly, she waited for the purpose of this meeting to come forth and present itself.

Tiglath sat looked around the table. “Let us hope so, my boys are getting a little restless.” He said with a slight smile.

“How have you been?” Sadie asked, turning quietly to Roux Delarosa. She smiled slightly as they waited.

Drudoc let everyone say their morning piece and greetings before calling the meeting to order. “..Alright everyone, now that we’re all here let’s get this mission briefing going.” She said.

Pressing a button on the table an image of a class m world came up. “..This is Rotunda 5, a class M world just within Federation space 2 days travel from here by warp 3. The Rotunda people are human like with a pre-warp culture, but recent cultural study probes indicate that may or not change soon. They have a small inter-system patrol group and science outpost on the forth moon which seems the basis for their research into FTL based space travel. Our orders are to approach the system within short range scanning range and observe their most recent efforts of FTL probes and to document on hand cultural study reports. If they crack the warp barrier it will then be my judgement call if we establish first contact. Questions?” she asked.

GM CockRoach / Drudoc Andone CO

So many questions popped into her head. What did they look like, what were their medical experience and needs, right down to what method of FTL were they devloping.
“Captain, do we have of what they look like and their potential medical needs?” she asked intrigued about their new mission. She had always enjoyed first contact situations. So may things to learn about.

Lt.Cmdr - Kalitta - CMO

Cochrane looked intently at the display and, after the CMO spoke, asked “Do we have the latest cultural assessments and tech briefings, and do we know when the last probes were sent to the system? And what do we know about their sensor capabilities? We don’t want them picking us up with some new sensor technology they just developed.”

Cochrane, XO

“We could probably mask ourselves by creating a fixed orbit around one of their moons.” Lieutenant Trainor stated. “If the ship was smaller, I’d suggest hooking up a dozen or so holoemitters around the hull to disguise as an asteroi ....” Tenzing quietly let out a sigh of relief, as this assignment was going to be a cakewalk.

Trainor
OPS

Tiglath turned to Trainor. “Instead of the ship, what if we used a shuttle or runabout? The Ark Angel could stay outside the system and we could use the shuttle for closer observations?” He asked thoughtfully.
