Cochrane tried to catch up to the CSO as she moved down the passageway from the Lounge. “Lieutenant Sadie, a moment please.” His speech was informal, but it still carried the underlying tone that it was not a suggestion.

She retreated into herself further, hanging her head and glancing back at him with a deer-in-the-headlights expression on her face. “I’d rather not have this conversation,” she muttered softly, feeling as though she knew exactly where this was going.
