IC: “O-of course sir. Computer, please fill in missing personnel with a hologram AI.” The missing stations around them were instantly filled with the required personnel along with the helmsman, but they remained eerily still. “If you’d like sir .. the bridge is yours.” His hand extended towards the Captain’s chair in preparation for the start of the simulation as he stood by his Engineering station.

Mrok stood intensely at his station waiting for the next order.

Cochrane grinned and said “Your test, your rules Chief.” and he moved form the XO seat to the center chair. “Computer, begin simulation. Helm, bring us around on heading 2-3-9-point-6, full impulse. All stations report operational status.”

IC: “Aye sir. Heading 2-3-9-point-6. Engaging impulse.”

The ship hummed to life upon the Commander’s order and the AI crew came to life with it tapping on their consoles and running through checks. The viewscreen shifted as the ship turned to the ordered heading, but not before a bright, burning, blue ball made it’s way from one side of the screen to the other. One by one the AI-manned stations reported as ready with their systems operational.

“Engineering is ready and on standby sir. Power systems stable, hull integrity intact, and damage control teams standing by within a safe distance from EPS conduit locations.. Power routing normally with the changes so far.”

Myrok ran his fingers on the console in front of him,the science station was his, he did notice the AIs around him and reported” Science at the ready Captain.” Myrok saw the blue ball but belayed his sight and turned his attention to his station.

TIglath set up the shield. After a moment the new shields indicated ready. “Shield system online and ready.” Tiglath announced from tactical. He stood there watching, slightly anxious to see how this new shield system would work.

Chris noticed the immediate and huge drop in the power levels as the newly augmented shields raised. The lights on the bridge seemed to dim, but just very slightly so it might have gone unnoticed. “Capacitors drained .. Batteries supplying power.. Core is still stable. Tiglath, did we have enough for the shields to come up all the way? What’s their current percentage currently at?”

“Barely, Shields at 3% power. New shield matrix is online, Phaser power at minimum levels.” He reported. It was lower then he would like, but he hoped they would stop any first shots.

It was just shortly after he finished his sentence the AI-Comms Officer chimed in. “Commander ..? We’re being hailed ..? It’s a Klingon frequency.” Currently nothing was showing up on sensors which would definitely indicate a cloaked vessel.

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

Cochrane responded immediately. “On screen.” and stood up to see who their new friend was.

Cochrane, XO

A visibly perturbed and angry Klingon appeared on screen with the usual red hue of their bridge in the background. “PetaQ!” The Klingon spat at the floor of his bridge as he proceeded to glare through the monitor. “We’re sick of the Federation constantly intruding into our territory! We will have none of it anymore!” He glanced over his shoulder, “POWER TO WEAPONS!” His gaze came back to the monitor, or rather the Commander on the other side of the monitor. “Heghlu’meH QaQ jajvam!” (It is a good day to die!) Shouts of encouragement emanated from the Klingon vessel before communications terminated.

Sensors would detect three Klingon Birds of Prey, K’vort-class. One directly to the stern, one high towards the fore, starboard side of the ship, and one low and to port. All ships were decloaking and starting to begin an attack run as their weapons charged.

Engineering Storyteller? :D

-COS

Myrok ran his fingers over the science station seeing multiple warnings,he adressed all at the same time” Commander multiple threats I advise to back off and reconfigure”it is not what he would normally do but at this time …logical.

Ensign Myrok scientist

“Red alert! Shields up!” Cochrane commanded. “Tactical - full torpedo spread aft, then full reverse after detonation. Klingons like to fight close, let’s put some distance between us.”

Cochrane, XO

As the volley of torpedoes shot out the back of the ship it was almost magical to watch. The torpedoes closed as the Klingon vessel brought up it’s shields, two of the torpedoes in it’s volley exploded on contact of the front and right side of the ship as the shields slowly enveloped it, but the explosion from the right side nudged the vessel just enough into the path of a third torpedo that managed to make it through the shielding before it could encapsulate the rest of the ship exploding on direct contact with the wing, sending it spiraling and helpless.

Though at the same time the other two Birds of Prey made their attack run against the Ark Angel in the simulation. Disruptor shots from the port (left) side of the vessel rippled through the shield matrix blasting holes in the duranium hull as it strafed over the top of the ship to the starboard side as the ship directly in front ducked down low underneath the Ark Angel sending a few of it’s shots along the starboard, underside of the vessel. The Bridge shook violently as some of the conduits exploded sending the AI-Comms-Lt flying over the railing near by. A portion of the ceiling came down as well and landed directly on the XO’s head. Commander Cochrane fell forward unconscious as the piece of the ceiling lodged itself behind the commander on the Captain’s Chair.

OOC: Had to come up with something since James got promoted! :D Congrats to him again!

IC: After ducking from some of the sparks, Chris shouted across the Bridge. “The harmonics aren’t correct! Myrok! Could you tell the frequencies of the disrupters?! As long as we’re close the shields should be able to absorb them! As it currently is .. the shield matrix is failing!” Chris began rapidly making changes on his console and direction some of the damage control teams away from the capacitors where he expected the initial problems towards fixing breaches to the hull. “Shunting all non-critical power needs and life support directly towards shields. We have to get them up!” With the Commander down, Chris looked over towards Tiglath at the Tactical station to see if he was going to take the Comander’s place in the simulation. The safety precautions were enabled so Chris was sure the Commander would be fine, though they’d need to take him to medical to make sure he was alright after the Sim.

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

He saw the sensors knew what he had to do but then abruptly marched out of the holodeck

OOC: If you’re having problems playing your character or just need some advice in general, feel free to shoot me an email! Trying to disrupt everything on a ship isn’t the way to go man :(

-Mike

OCC: I agree, if you need any help or advice, please don’t hesitate to ask, a lot of us have years of RPing experience here and would be happy to share and help you in anyway you need.

IC: “Returning fire.” Tiglath exclaimed from tactical. Then he saw the downed XO. “Full impulse, We need to get all three of them in front of us.” He ordered helm, “Chris, try rotating the frequencies.” He suggested to the CE as the ship took another blast.

-COS

Myrok walked back into the Sim ,he saw what was happening, he went to the science console immediately, punched several keys and looked up at his friends” Try it now sirs”.

Ensign Myrok. Scientist

Chris quickly put in the frequencies provided by Myrok from science and input a few well known Klingon weapon frequency rotation combinations for the shield matrix to cycle through. “Thanks Myrok, trying these now!!”

With the frequencies put in it was just in time as the Klingon vessels began turning around on their approach again. The AI-Helmsman began a full reverse course on impulse as the Commander had previously directed. It wasn’t long before the vessel that strafed over the top of the Ark Angel came into view from the right side of the screen. In the meantime sensors would indicate that the other vessel that shot underneath them to their rear had fallen out of contact and disappeared entirely, most likely indicating that they re-engaged their cloak in order to provide enough time to fully charge their weapons again.

“Sir, they’re coming about again!” The AI-Helmsman mentioned toward the Lieutenant at Tactical.

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE) / Engineering Storyteller? XD

OOC: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

OOC: Dont forget to snip folks!

GM CockRoach

OOC: Totally forgot about that :O Thanks for catching and snipping it Roach o7 you the best!

-Mike

OCC: Merry Christmas.

IC: Tiglath nodded and looked at the shields. His system wasn’t performing as intended, it was a little embarrassing.

“Bring us about.” Tiglath responded, “Should we divert more power to the shields?” Tiglath asked Chris. “We could transfer power from the torpedo system.”

-COS

“Aye sir!” The AI-Helmsman started to swing the ship around from their reverse course in a smooth action. Their viewscreen shifting as the one Bird of Prey disappeared from the view screen due to the turn.

Frantically shifting the power between systems along with trying to find every drop of power he could get, Chris was already sweating from the stress of it. He knew it was only a simulation, but he desperately wanted this shield system to work. He had done the calculations, why wasn’t it working? Or was it just not enough? “I’ve basically already allocated everything towards the shields! Even life support .. we’ve probably only got an hour of oxygen left before it needs power again. Without weapons, we wouldn’t be able to ..” He stopped himself mid sentence and thought again .. it was only a simulation after all .. they didn’t really NEED the weapons. If this were a real battle this would definitely take a different path, but maybe that would be enough ..? “Take ALL of the weapons offline if you can Tiglath! I’m going to push all the power from weapons back into the shields to see if that’s enough power to have it actually start working properly!”

No sooner had he said that did another volley of disruptor shots fired across the starboad side of the ship causing a new set of breaches on the lower decks as they turned. It might have gone unnoticed, but on the outside of the ship it looked as if the disruptor shots caused the shields to ripple as they penetrated through them. The shields were still quite low as they were still trying to generate power, but even as they dipped to 1% with the shots that were fired, they did briefly spike to 3%.

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

Myrok stayed as calm as he could he noticed that the Lt. and security chief had been frantically using every available power source except one deflector dish if he could reroute power from the deflector to shields it might cause the wanted effect. ” Lt. please try the deflector dish it may give you the power necessary. “

Ensign Myrok scientist

The deflector .. he hadn’t thought of that. It was supposed to be used as an emergency in case they generated too much power he hadn’t though of them not even being able to generate enough. Something then just hit. The entertainment module. How could he forget such a thing?! Chris silently cursed his stupidity at forgetting something so necessary. He brought up the section of that ship up on his console. There were 15 fusion generators attached to the module that were designed to assist in supporting the demands of the entertainment module. Since this was a simulation and no power was even needed to the area, who’s to say the generators couldn’t support the ship instead of the module during combat? No one had time to lay around in a spa or stay in a casino when lives were on the line. He shrugged. Well, unless your Ferengi I suppose? he thought. It would take a little time, but he should be able to route the output to support the ship as a whole instead of just the module. “Myrok, you just gave me the greatest idea ever!! Hang on to the deflector array for now, let me try something! Tiglath, can you get me five minutes to work on something?” Meanwhile on the screen, it seemed that they were either really lucky or just had a really good AI-Pilot at the moment, because two red photon torpedoes just shot over them heading off into space. The second ship came back up on their scanners again behind them along the same time they lost the lock on the first vessel that had originally strafed over top of them.

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

Mildly amused Myrok fathomed the idea that he had created an idea inside the Lt’s mind. He noticed the scans of the Klingon ship behind them quickly advancing on their position” Lt.it would be prudent of you to try and find the power you need for the shields our pesky friend is closing on us!”

Ensign Myrok Scientist

“Roger that, Helm, keep us a full impulse, Evasive pattern Kirk Delta.” He ordered as he fired a spray of phasers.
” Chris, these shields are designed to absorb energy, are they just not doing that?”
