Kalitta was taken back a bit when Saide suddenly left. “That’s the second time she has done that in the past few days. I wonder what is up with her and Myrok that has her so on edge.” She said looking accross the room to Myrok.

“Conflict isn’t uncommon between superior and subordinate. Perhaps there was a falling out between them,” Jasmijn watched her go, slight concern behind her voice. “They’re officers, I’m sure they can sort things out for themselves.”

“My apologies, please lets drink.” Kalitta took the tankard in her large hand and held it up. “Welcome to the Ark Angel Commander. May your stay here be glorious and fruitful.” Kalitta then took a big gulp of her wine and some of it dribbled down the side of her mouth onto her chest and then dribbled down into her cleavage.

“I can drink to that, Doctor.” Jasmijn briefly rose her tankard in agreement, taking a large quaff of the blood wine, its colour remaining prominent on her mouth and chin.

“So DeVries what has brought you to the Ark Angel? Besides the obvious open XO position.”

Lt. Cmdr - Kalitta - CMO

Setting the tankard down, she glanced over at Kalitta. “I admit, my purpose here is nothing special. For the past several years, I’ve been.. jumping between different ranks in Starfleet,” She admitted. “I guess the ways of the Marine Corps don’t always apply to them,” Jasmijn chuckled, shaking her head in mild amusement. She was raised to be a Kligon warrior, and opted for the Marines instead.. needless to say, she wasn’t exactly Starfleet material, at first. “Besides the point,” She waved her hand, “When the position was offered, I began looking into the Ark Angel– what I could of her, at least. She was different, from what I could tell. I don’t know, I guess I just like places that aren’t cliché.” She shrugged, “And since I’ve arrived, this ship has been everything but.”

DeVries
XO

“Your right that this ship is anything but cliche. There are more unique species on this ship that most starfleet vesles. The previous XO was a Human who served with the Klingons, and my predisor was also a Klingon doctor. Then you have Lieutnant Sadie who you just briefly met.”

“As well as being a Starfleet Doctor I am also a recognized Klingoin xinobiologist. So all these species in one place I find fascinating.”

Lt.Cmdr - Kalitta - CMO

“There is a level of diversity here that you do not find in many other places,” Jasmijn nodded, considering the ship for a moment. “I must say, it is welcoming to know the Klingon precense aboard this ship is notable.” She smirked, a sense of pride behind her grin.

A while later, Sadie returned to the lounge. Glancing around and not immediately seeing the Ensign she was trying to avoid, she slipped back into her seat near Kalitta and the other klingon. Half Klingon. “Sorry about that, I had something I… had to take care of,” she said, unconvincingly. “I’m Sadie, by the way. CSO on the Ark Angel,” she said with a small smile.

Sadie, CSO

“Ah, I see.” Jasmijn nodded, waving a hand in dismissal. At her introduction, DeVries offered that very hand in greeting. “Pleasure to meet you, Chief. Jasmijn DeVries, the new XO.”

Lt. Cmdr. DeVries
XO

Sadie bowed slightly to the XO, and notably glanced awkwardly at the extended hand before placing her own hand to her chest. The small alien smiled nervously, and with her hand on her chest it was evident that her hand was shaped very differently to a human hand and, while still formed of fingers and a thumb, there were only three of said fingers. The four-foot tall alien glanced away slightly, and grabbed her drink, taking a sip. “I apologize, Commander, I can’t return this greeting. For people of my species, handshakes are quite uncomfortable and… we avoid partaking in them.”

At her revelation, DeVries retracted her hand, offering a somewhat animalistic grin, which was intended to be reassuring– but few had the heart to tell her that it really wasn’t all that helpful. “Don’t apologise for culture, Miss Sadie, be proud of it. Not everyone is going to be comfortable with following the cultural ways of the human race, so people had better accept that or suck it up. For no people is going to change their ways for them.” DeVries grinned.

Kalitta gulped the last of the blood wine that was in her tankard. “Glad that you could rejoin us Sadie, the table isn’t the same without you.” Kalitta looked at the commander. picked up the pitcher and started to fill the commanders tankard to the brim, then continued with her own. “Nothing like more blood wine to warm the soul.”

Kalitta then went quiet. “So what’s with you and Ensign Myrok? You always seem to take off when ever he is about.”

Kalitta then grabbed the bartenders attention for him to get another pitcher of blood wine.

OOC: Dont forget to sign off! lol

IC: Sadie cringed slightly. She looked at the floor, embarrassed. “It’s hard to explain. He is… disconcerting for me to be around. All you people are difficult due to… reasons, but he is… more-so.”

She took a sip of her drink, then looked at the two women. “It is a little-known fact about my species that we have a mild empathic ability. However, this ability extends only to others of our species. When on a Federation vessel, we experience a kind of… withdrawal experience. We have to learn how to visually read the emotions of a totally alien body type, while also constantly reminding ourselves that no, everyone around us is not a collection of emotionless androids…” she closed her eyes for a moment and took another sip of her drink.

“Myrok is emotionless, except for the occasional violent burst of temper that I have been made aware of. This, added to his attitude of assuming information and coming to baseless conclusions within the Science labs, has led me to feel rather uncomfortable in his presence,” she explained quietly. “It doesn’t help that I experience a kind of social anxiety in my work as a supervisor to the entire Science team…”

CSO

Kalitta looked at Sadie with a little empathy. “It sounds to me that you need to show him who really is boss, put your foot down.” Kalitta took a gulp of her blood wine. “Your too assertive, some times people need to be reminded of the hierarchy otherwise they will walk all over you. That’s one of the reasons why I had spoken to Myrok about his outburst to me last week.”

Lt.Cmdr - Kalitta - CMO

“Kalitta’s right. The longer you let him control you, the more her will assert his power over you. You don’t have to scream at him, or belittle him, but you do have to show him how you expect things to be done. And, if he is going to mistreat you or any of your scientists, he will be punished for it.” Jasmijn agreed, glancing between the two DHs. “It seems like Myrok has some underlying psychological issues. If these outbursts continue, send him to the psych department. And if he won’t go? Well, I’m certain the Captain or I can handle from there. Anger issues is one thing, but once they start impacting others, they become our problem too.”

Myrok looked he knew the time he knew what it could be…but. He walked away.

Myrok stopped short of the door,he was not going to run any longer , he would confront his inner self now , he slowly walked toward the table once again” My apologies, may I please join you?”
