With the first team transported over the 2nd was now ready to go to their ship. “..Alright team two you’re up!” The chief said.

“We’re ready, Chief.” The Operations Chief announced as the 2nd team stepped onto the transporter pad. “Energize when ready.”

Sadie stood on the pad and waited to be transported over.

As the transporter chief nodded Sadie, Trainor and the four man engineering team beamed over to the right side Yellek ship, they were released into a sweet scented smokey room but thankfully not thick enough to cause too much problems breathing for now. Around them human like Yelleks turned at the sound in surprise and their appearance, especially Sadie, but a stern shout from a taller looking man as he came over got them back to work, “..Alright enough gawking, by the shells if you idiots dont keep the balance right we’re all going to go up in smoke!..” He said.

Coming up to the group he looked them over, “..Huh, you folks dont look like what the horror vids paint aliens on Yellek.” He said. “..No matter, if you’re here to help I need to know what you can all do. I’m looking at a core imbalance and possible cascade failure of our alignment matrix..” He said.

“I’m Lieutenant Trainor, Ark Angel’s Chief Operations Officer.” Tenzing announced as took a step forward to greet the man. The OPS Officer motioned for the Engineers to check the Engine Room, and help out where needed.

At his direction and joined by the other Yellek engineers the two races got to work.

“Show us the way to your warp core.” Tenzing said, picking up his tool kit. “I’m guessing you’ve met an alien species before, huh?”

”..Warp core? You mean the unknown word from the UT drive?” he asked, “..And afraid you got us wrong we never knew about aliens till meeting you folks, just what we saw in horror vids back home..” He said.

Sadie smiled a little sheepishly. ‘I’m Lt. Sadie, Chief Science Officer. I’m fascinated to learn more about your culture and people, but that can wait until we’ve got this engine problem fixed,” she spoke softly, standing beside Tenzing.

”…Right..” He said simply nodding to lead them over to the purple-silver hued core.

Tenzing didn’t sense too much suspicion from the alien about their arrival, though the man seemed more worried about staying alive than actually finding out who the newcomers were.

“I’m going to scan the drive for a quick diagnostic.” Lieutenant Trainor said as they approached the drive. “This will give me a basic analysis of what the issue is.”

Sadie stuck close to Trainor, grabbing her Tricorder and hooking the output up to her small wristmounted computer, the Universal Remote Interface. It served several purposes, including being a back-up universal translator.

She turned to the Alien who was leading them around. “Um, I didn’t catch your name, but could you possibly direct me to a computer interface? I want to see if your data-banks have any information on what may have caused the issue. I have education and experience in warp theory, so I might see something that your scientists may have missed. Plus, if I figure out what went wrong, that might help Trainor and the engineers to fix it.”

Scans of the core for Trainor showed a common linkage misalignment in early civilizations that first achieved warp flight it would be ok for a simple speed of warp 1 or so but it seems possible they had tried to go faster which had caused their problems. The alignment issue wouldn’t be hard to fix once they got the core stabilized. A simple plasma shunt and matrix alignment calibrator would be needed but shouldn’t take long.

”..Take your pick! I’m busy trying to keep our core stable and blowing up on us, if I can’t stabilize this in two shellinutes we will have to dump the reaction chamber..” The Yellek chief said to Sadie not rudely but at the least he was stressed.
