Simon sat patiently in the shuttle as he departed the academy for the last time. Now it was time to put the last four years training to use. He had made it. He had successfully completed the Academy program and was now officially a Star fleet officer. Before he left, he sent a message letting his parents know the news and that if he found anything out about his brother, he would let them know what he could. He looked down at the PaDD with his assignment on it. It provided the name of the ship, the registry number and the CO and chief of security. He made sure he had his own assignment PaDD ready as the shuttle dropped out of warp in front of Starr’s new home.

The pilot of the shuttle opened up Comms and let the communications officer on the ship that the new Security officer was inbound, asking whether the captain wanted to meet him in the transporter room or the shuttle bay.

A reply came back from NE Fill that Fleet Captain Andone would meet him in her ready room off the bridge after his check in with the chief of security.

NE Fill

“Looks like they’re ready for you ensign. Sending coordinates to the communications officer now for your transport,” and a few moments later the small interior of the shuttle that Simon had travelled on was replaced with the interior of the transporter room. Looking over at the transporter operator Starr nodded and walked over to them. “I’m looking for a…” Starr began before pulling out his PaDD one more time to make sure he got the name correct, “a Liuetenant Ashur. I’m one of the new Security officers, guessing it would be best to report to deck 14?” he asked. “That’s probably where you’ll find him, if his available,” the transporter officer replies.

On that motion, Starr exited the transporter room and headed to the turbolift. This ship was much bigger than the academy ship he had just come from, and things were busy. He thought it best to just make sure that his chief knew he had arrived. He approached the Security office and took a look around. Finding the officer on duty he produced a PaDD and asked “Hello, I’m looking for the Chief of Security, I’ve been told he’d most likely be around here somewhere,”

NLtjg Helps looked up from behind the desk, “..Seems like the chief has a bit of a head cold at present Ensign. Why dont you take a seat here I’ll see if I can get him for you..” Helps said to a fairly comfy looking chair.

Simon nodded in thanks as he walked over to the seat indicated by the NLtjg. “Thank you, sir” he added in a strong British language, sounding from around Cambridgeshire, as he took a seat. The chief not being present because of a head cold seemed a little off to him at first. He didn’t dwell on it too long as he waited for the Chief of Security to arrive.

OOC: Hang tight I’m emailing the COS for this thread!

GM CockRoach

OOC: Thanks for the update :)

OCC: I apologize, I totally missed this one.

IC: A couple minutes later a lean muscled, average height man came in. He appeared to be of middle eastern descent. He had short black hair and a jet black beard. He did look on the tired side and still moved around seemingly light on his feet. He nodded to the NLtjg then turned his attention to Ensign Starr.

“I apologize Ensign, one of the crew members children has a special puppy that has a genetic abnormality that seems to make it hard to track on sensors. And, as I’m the only member of this crew known, outside of the kids who this puppy likes, I had to go hunt for it when it escaped its quarters. Combine that with a head cold and things tend to get behind. Lieutenant Tiglath Ashur, Chief of Security.” He stated with a noticeable middle eastern accent. Extending his hand out to the new ensign.

Starr stood up as Ashur extended his hand and returned the handshake. Simon himself had a more athletic build, and as the chief gripped the hands, Starr had the grip that someone who has had a life outdoors. Standing at just shy of 6 feet, Starr’s brown hair was short and well kept, and cleanly shaven. Nodding in greeting, Simon replied “Ensign Simon Starr reporting for duty, sir” in a strong southern British accent.

In response to where he had been Simon nodded and said “It’s no rush, sir. Besides, it IS why they say the most difficult to work with is animals and children,” he said with a smile. He then handed over the PaDD with the transfer order to the chief detailing Starr’s new assignment.

Tiglath took the padd and examined it. After a moment and a soft cough he looked back at the Ensign. ” Tell me about your time at the academy.” He asked, turning to his desk, gesturing to a nearby seat. He sat down and look with interest at the Ensign.
