“You know I wouldn’t mind seeing what those engines are capable of and how they put it together! Though judging from what happened to their first vessel … I’d have to guess they haven’t learned about dilithium yet and how it reacts to be able to control the anti-matter reactions..” A look of concern swept over his face. He could understand the pursuit of technology, but adequate testing would be necessary before performing a field test like this. He hoped that he could figure out what was going on to try and stabilize the reactions instead of abandoning their warp core for an explosion that they would need to get clear of.

“Hopefully this trip doesn’t end up becoming really short and bright.” Tiglath said as they stepped onto the transporter padd.

“We are ready chief.” He said to the chief. He rested his hand on his phaser, but kept it holstered. He felt slightly apprehensive about this mission, he didn’t like going into situations not really knowing about what he was facing.

”..Right away you all go!” He said.

When the team rematerialized they found themselves on a upper walkway overlooking a small fusion core series of the left side ship. Yelleks were moving about furiously to stabilize it seems one of the fusion cores itself. Shouts picked up by their UTs made out things like ‘going to breach in 5 minutes if we dont figure this out!’ lead by a taller Yellek who seemed the one in charge, problem was it seems there were equal measures of wounded still laying about so they were short handed.

Tiglath was no engineer, but he knew trouble when he saw it. He quickly approached the taller Yellek. “I’m Tiglath Ashur, Chief of Security for the Ark Angel. How can I help?” He offered, looking around.

After getting his bearings straight after the transport in and hearing the commotion and chatter he slung one of his boxes over his shoulder and grabbed the other one in his hand and swiftly pushed past Tiglath B-lining to the staircase heading down it. Though as he moved past Tiglath he said just above all the chatter, “I don’t think we have time for making friends yet!” Despite more and more of the Yellek’s giving a confused look as to what creature just came out of nowhere on their ship, he just kept repeating “I’m an Engineer, I’m an Engineer, relax!”

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

”..We need to stabilize the core in the next 5 Shelleks or its going to need to be dumped…” The one Yellek said who seemed to be the leader of the groups nearby. “..Sensors though for the readouts on the fusion reactors are offline so we cant see whats wrong..”

“Are you able to perform an emergency stop on your fusion reactor that’s powering your batteries ..? Does it have any control rods to insert into the core?” Chris dumped his gear and started looking through one of his boxes for a container. It might be a stop gap at best, but it could either slow down or even halt the fusion reaction. However .. getting it started again would be a different story.

=^=DeVries to Lieutenant Emmitt. Report; how’s the Yellek core holding up? Any changes?=^=

As Chris was listening to the Engineers he had pulled out his tricorder and was scanning the reactor getting some quick data before deciding his next action as her communication came through. He quickly tapped his comm badge, but continued his work unphased.

=^= Emmiit here, summary short, but the fusion reactor powering these batteries is in bad shape, not sure how long Five Shellecks is, but I’d say we don’t have long and we might have to eject the core. I have one thing I could try, but I’m not sure how far along the cascade reaction is Commander. =^=

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

Tiglath watched with concern, but so far this conversation wasn’t in his wheel house. A thought occured to him though, if the ship would need to be evacuated, then he could see if there were any wounded or civilians nearby that needed to go. It would also give him a chance to look around.

“I’ll go check around and see about an evacuation.” He mentioned to Chris then proceeded to walked down a nearby corridor looking around, keeping an eye on anything suspicious, any wounded that may have been missed, or anyone that may otherwise need help.
