It was a week later as the R&R was rounded up for the crew of the Ark Angel and Fleet Captain Andone had been in a briefing room with the head of Starbase 243 it was said for almost a full day. During this time When evening came then finally the Captain returned looking chipper and having a large smile on her face with several PADDs under an arm. Striding onto the bridge she said to NE Parker, “..Open a ship wide comm to all department heads..” She said.

NE Parker nodded, “..You’re on ma’am..” he said.

=/\= Attention all department heads, mission briefing in 10 minutes! =/\= She said with a chipper tone. Then changing channels she spoke ship wide =/\= Attention all hands we will be departing Starbase 243 in 12 hours please finish up all off ship duties and needs and prepare to disembark in that time for our mission ahead. =/\= She said.

With that said the Captain entered the briefing room off the bridge to await the staff’s arrival.

Within a few moments, Allison’s slightly disheveled form had appeared in the briefing room. Her uniform wasn’t precisely worse for the wear, but it wasn’t quite as crisp as one might expect either. Of course, for security, a week of R&R wasn’t much of the sort since everyone letting their hair down had led to all kinds of inter-crew conflict. Being Chief of Security was beginning to feel an awful lot like being a glorified babysitter, so reporting for a mission briefing sounded like a fantastic idea at this point.

“Hello, Captain,” she greeted her commanding officer with a nod.

Lieut (j.g.) Devlin, COS

Jasmijn had taken advantage of the hours throughout the week she hadn’t devoted to check up on work. Several sessions of Mok’bara and a newly discovered taste for Terran yoga later, DeVries returned looking less like a limp noodle and more like herself. Slipping through the briefing room doors, a PaDD tucked beneath her arm, she nodded to the gathered officers. “Captain, Lieutenant.” She did not smile, but her tone offered something similar.

“Lieutenant, are you doing well?” DeVries noticed the difference between the Captain’s chipper attitude and Devlin’s slightly haphazard appearance. “R&R didn’t give you any trouble, did it?”

Let. Cmdr. DeVries

“Oh, yes, ma’am,” Allison responded, attempting to look vaguely alert as she identified the form as the XO of the Ark Angel, whom she hadn’t had a chance to cross paths with yet given the differing schedules of an R&R. “R&R didn’t give me much R&R,” she continued with a chagrined grin. “I’m still getting acquainted with my new role as a department head and it turns out that Security doesn’t get quite as much of a break when everyone goes a little crazy relaxing, but it was nothing out of the ordinary or that I couldn’t handle.” She realized that she was rambling a bit and closed her mouth quickly to avoid continuing her diatribe.

The doctor was finishing off some experiments in the ship’s lab when the call came through. He tapped the companel near him. “I will be there momentarily.” As he tapped closed the com channel. washed his hands briskly as an old surgeon would do. As he grabbed a towel to dry them off and threw the towel in the bin as he exited the lab. Nurse Hulahan you’re in charge till I return. Or until Doctor O’Day arrives for there shift.” Trax said with a quick smile and wink as he left for the nearest lift. He briskly walked down the corridor giving a bright smile who he met along the way. As he closed on the lift the doors opened as people exited the lift. As he got on to an empty car and turned about. “Bridge!” Trax said quickly as the doors closed and the lift took off to its new destination.

As the lift slowed to a stop the doors opened to a fairly busy bridge scene. As he exited and head to the conference room. as the doors opened he slid in as the doors closed behind him. Trax moved to the usual seat he usually too while in a staff meeting with the crew but that was before the promotion. He was not sure if he needed to change or not. But he kept quiet one way or another someone would let him know if he needed to change his location. He grabbed the water pitcher on the table and poured him a tall glass of water. And took a seat as he waited with the others.

Iliana approached the conference room with a little trepidation. Having only just come on board, she hadn’t had time to meet all the senior staff yet and wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. As she approached the conference room she instinctively straightened her uniform and cleared her throat.

She entered with a warm smile and took a seat next to whom she presumed was the chief of security by her gold uniform. She extended her hand with a grin. “I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure Lt? I’m Lt Kara, the very new chief science officer,” she said with a chuckle. She gave the CMO a friendly smile and nod, wondering if he would still be embarrassed about their mixup in sickbay.

Allison shook Kara’s hand somewhat limply, returning the grin with a friendly smile of her own. “I’m Lt Devlin, the very new chief of security,” she responded, her black eyes flashing in amusement at her humor. “It seems we’re in and on the same boat.” Wow, she really did need to get some sleep.

Lieut (j.g.) Devlin, COS

Iliana relaxed a little knowing she wasn’t the only new department head around, in fact it looked like there were a few apprehensive officers around that had only just stepped into their roles. “Very nice to meet you Lt,” she smiled warmly. She wasn’t normally a great fan of small talk and it didn’t come naturally to her but she knew it was part of the job and she needed to get comfortable talking to people more. “So, new to the ship or just new to the position?” Iliana asked as she poured herself a glass of water and offered one to her new friend.
