After leaving the mission briefing, Tenzing took a detour to the ship’s lounge area. The Operations Chief wasn’t particularly hungry but felt the need to scarf something down since his day was going to extremely long. Taking a seat at one of the tables near the galley Tenzing pulled up the menu to see what he could possibly be interested in eating.

LtCmdr. Trainor
Operations

“Find anything that piques your interest, Commander?” A gentle voice cut through the silence as a young waitress approached him. She wore a genial smile matching the apparent friendliness in her eyes, but it wasn’t difficult to tell that it was, in part, a facade.

17/18 Forward Waitress

“I’ve been on the Ark Angel for nearly two years now....” Tenzing stated as he set the menu down on the table and looked up at the waitress. “.... and I’ve only been in the lounge a few times…” It wasn’t that the Lieutenant Commander was anti-social, he just didn’t have the drive to sit in a public place to eat. Taking another glance at the menu, the Operations Chief placed it to the side.

“Surely someone of your..prestige..has better things to do than sit around, frolicking with the rest of the crew.” She shrugged it off, figuring Trainor simply wasn’t the socialite type. Although she’d met several through her time waitressing at various Forwards, the Ark Angel did not seem to bear many. “I cannot blame you, really.”

“I’ll take a grilled cheese and iced tea.” He stated.

Trainor

“What kind of cheese would you like?” She asked. Rather than to assume and return with an inedible sandwich, she decided to pester him with the question. “Sweetened or unsweetened tea?”

Waitress

Tenzing didn’t think this far ahead. He had always told his mother he wanted a grilled cheese and one was made for him, Trainor never asked with what. Taking another quick gaze at the menu, Tenzing returned his attention back to the waitress.

“Yellow American please.” The Lieutenant Commander said, “… and the tea can be sweet.”

Trainor

“One grilled cheese with American and a sweet iced tea..coming right up!” She threw him a smile, this time genuine. “That’ll be just a few minutes, sir.”

Waving, she turned to head towards the next person. Aside from an older, spiffy man tending bar, she was the only server that evening.

Still a little sweaty from his workout with the chief, Simon takes a seat in 17/18 forward. He relaxes as he lets his muscles appreciate the sitting down, after the run he did this morning. He had to admit, it felt good to take the weight of his feet, even if it was for a brief time before his shift started. He wanted to get showered up before he began his shift, but he knew he could squeeze in a bit of time to at least get something to eat.

Ensign Simon Starr, Security

“Hiya!” The waitress approached star, gesturing to the emptiness that occupied the table before him. “What would you like to eat?” She asked, hoping to make this quick so she didn’t keep either men from shift.

Waitress

“Hi, I’ll get a shepherds pie with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, if that’s available,” Starr responded with a smile. “And a orange juice, with ice,” he added as he wiped some sweat of his brow from the run with the security chief he had just arrived from. He looked around to see who else was currently here, and noticed that the Chief of Operations was also present, but their duties hadn’t crossed paths yet, and knew the chief would probably be arriving soon. It was her idea to get something to eat, after all, so he decided to wait and see if Devlin arrived before introducing himself.

Ensign Simon Starr, Security

Allison slid in beside Starr just as he was completing his order, having had to deal with a quick comm call on the trip from the Holodeck to the lounge. She arrived in time to hear his order and, without being asked by the waitress, added in, “I’ll have that too, but with an iced coffee, cream only.” Blowing sweaty hair out of her eyes, she smiled at Starr and shook her head in a playful manner. “This whole Chief of Security gig never stops,” she commented with a laugh.

Lieut (j.g.) Devlin, COS

“Well, at least it keeps us busy,” Simon replied, with a smile. “I haven’t had a chance to meet that guy over there, do you know him?” Simon asked the chief nodding his head towards Tenzing. “Being down in the lower decks, I really only deal with the crew down there, and I don’t think we’ve crossed paths yet,” he said quietly as to try not to be overheard, though in the quiet lounge that might not have been possible.

Ensign Simon Starr, Security

Allison shook her head in response to Starr’s question.

“I haven’t had a chance to meet many of the crew yet unless they happened across my office for… reasons…” she replied, her voice trailing off with a grin. “We had our mission briefing and I saw him there… I think he’s the Operations Chief.” She was actually pretty certain of that, having studied the senior staff’s service records, but she hadn’t had a chance to make a personal introduction.

Trax came in with two other betazoid men as they moved to a corner booth to chat quietly as they passed the others eating and drinking their beverages. As they all took seats. As he saw the room bustling with activity. As they waited patiently for the waitress to arrive to take their orders. As he scanned the room calmly most to all seemed in good spirits. As he focused his attention back on his guests. The ambassador Roni and his assistant Raxx. As the waitress came over. “A double Sumerian Sunset please as the others looked at him. “I believe I deserve it.” Trax commented with a small fading smile. “Yes!” Roni said calmly as he ordered the same but a single version of the sunset. And Raxx ordered a Ferengi Starduster. “Very good!” the waitress said kindly as she headed off to retrieve the orders.

Occ: Fixed the odd tag on Trainor.

Tenzing ate his lunch in piece while noticing the increasing buzz of activity around him. Almost forgetting about the PaDD in his pocket, Trainor pulled it out to see that it was the most recent ship’s inventory log. There were a few cargo containers that still had to be emptied and stocked in a few of the bays but decided to push that off until his teams could get every system to top performing shape. He had hoped to plan a meeting later with some of his section chiefs to get a status update.

Lt Cmdr Trainor

Iliana had managed to unpack a couple of boxes before her stomach start grumbling so she decided it would be a good time to check out the lounge. She quickly fixed her hair and straightened her uniform before making her way to 17/18 forward. As she entered, she noticed a couple of familiar faces at a table and wandered over. Small talk was not usually her strong point but considering she was going to be spending a lot of time with these people she thought it would be good to get to know them a bit better.

She sidled up to the table and smiled as she asked hopefully, “room for one more?”

Lt (jg) Kara (CSO)

OOC: Was it something I said? :)

OOC: Nope, just actually thought one of the senior officers when this began would have invited you so looks like their leaving it to the security officer :P, still gonna sign these ones as my old rank as I wasn’t technically CoS when this timeline started :P

Simon looked up to see one of the science officers of the ship. He hadn’t had a chance to meet everybody yet and gestured towards an empty seat at the table. “Please, feel free, ma’am” he offered to the CSO.
Ensign Simon Starr, Security

Kara smiled warmly as she took the seat as she extended her hand to Starr. “Thank you Ensign, I don’t believe we’ve met?” she said as she shook his hand firmly. “I’m Lt (jg) Kara, the new CSO,” she added warmly as she waved a waitress over. “Please tell me you know how to make Hasperat?” she asked hopefully.
