Kara peered at her readings and noticed the ruins that presumably the Vulcan scientist was investigating. “Captain, scans are picking up what appear to be ruins, possibly from an ancient civilization?” she posed as she began to run a more detailed surface scan to see whether there was any other evidence of civilization.

Lt (jg) Kara (CSO)

“The scans indicate the ruins are about 100 thousand years old.” Philips said.
Lt JG Philips
Ops Officer

”..Noted Lieutenant Philip. Comms open a channel to the Sural I’m surprised someone is out this far I was not informed someone would be here already..” She said.

OOC: Phillip please don’t fill in such detail without asking me first thanks the age is important detail to the sim which your info would be wrong I’ve edited your post to reflect the proper age, thank you

Simon opened a general channel on all frequencies towards the Sural and the Ta’pa to try and get in contact with them. “Channel open, captain,” he confirmed with the captain.

Jasmijn rose an eyebrow, glancing at Drudoc from the corner of her eye. What interest would a Vulcan scientist have in these ruins? Clearly they held significance, if the VSD had anything to do with them. But a single scientist? It seemed odd, despite the Vulcan people’s solitary disposition, he wouldn’t have a research team with him.

Lt. Cmdr. DeVries, XO

No response came from the Vulcan ship so there likely was no one aboard. It took a long moment before finally they got an answer from the surface.

On screen a dirty looking Vulcan man in his late 200 years of life came on the screen from inside a work tent. =/\= Yes who is it? =/\= Came a neutral but slightly snappish tone.

Rising from the center chair Drudoc spoke =/\= Mr Sural this is Fleet Captain Drudoc Andone of the USS Ark Angel. We’re currently in orbit and are surprised to find you and your vessel here while on our mission of exploration. May I ask what you are doing here? =/\= She said.

=/\= A Romulan a sigh of what might pass for subdued annoyance =/\= Was heard. =/\= Captain I have been here for over 5 years studying these ruins obviously. I have made significant progress on locating the ruins of an ancient Chodak outpost. The Federation araglocail society wouldn’t fund my work nor would the Vulcan Science Directorate for staff so I left on my own to be out here. =/\= He said.

Drudoc blinked in some surprise. =/\= A Chodak outpost all the way out here? Interesting sir, I had thought their ruins were still within the Star Empire’s sphere of influence among the subjects of the Gurdian people.. =/\= She said.

=/\= Indeed Captain! If I can locate their central computer core and prove it is as I suspect of the Chodak people it would be the first located so close to Federation space and not inside the Star Empire =/\= He said.

=/\= Mr Sural my ship an— =/\= Drudoc began but then a beeping from tactical interrupted her. =/\= One moment =/\= turning to tactical she said. “..Lieutenant Starr report!..” She said.

Scans Starr would find showed a small ship at high warp leaking drive plasma coming their way, and a static filled hail also being opened.

As the tactical console beeped, Simon looked at the notification from the scans. “Small ship, coming in at high warp. It’s leaking a lot of plasma ma’am, I’ll see if I can get more details,” he said as the ship pinged on the tactical sensors. Just as he was about to begin a more detailed scan, there was a notification of an incoming hail. “Their hailing us, captain,” he informed Andone.

Lieutenant (J.G) Simon Starr, CoS

Scans as they cleared ID’d the ship as a Romulan scout ship (OOC: This one https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Romulan_scout_ship ) but the hull markings as he got a picture up showed it had a purple hue mixed with grey not the usual solid green tones. Computer record checks of this color design would denote it as a Guridin ship then. Not far beyond it though also at high warp and closing face was a Gurdian marked D’derdix warbird Type B of the older style from before the Dominion War. It’s shields were raised and weapons were hot.

Simon registered at first was Romulan, but as the scans became clearer and before he confirmed, he saw the color of the ship and his law training confirming that these were not romulans but Gurdians, Simon noted the warbird coming in “Also registering a Guridan D’derdix type B warbird, most likely in pursuit, their shields raised and weapons hot,” Simon reported.

Coming in on the static filled hail a female voice spoke =/\= Federation starship we are static fugees seeking political static slum. Please you must help us! =/\= the voice said before the line got cut and the ship drifted from warp 500km off their port bow. The larger Gurdian warbird was not far behind parking itself 10,000km off their starboard bow. Weapons still hot and shields raised.

Rising from her chair Drudoc said. “..Red Alert, raise shields and prime weapons but hold fire. Hail the warbird!..” She said. Wondering how the former Gurdian subjects of the Star Empire would take seeing a Romulan in charge of a Federation ship. As she spoke things happened fast and the D’derdix locked a tractor beam on the scout ship. Before finally hailing the Ark Angel.

GM CockRoach / Drudoc Andone CO

Simon activated the shields and readied the ships weapon compliment, ready to be fired upon the captain’s orders, and opened a channel to the warbird for the captain. “Opening a channel to the warbird, captain,” he responded as he did so. “Shields and weapons online,” he said once they had charged.

Lieutenant (J.G) Simon Starr, CoS

“Lieutenant Phillips, notify Sickbay that they could be receiving wounded.” The Ops Chief whispered before turning back to his own console. While the Security Chief was raising shields and placing weapons on standby, Trainor pulled a quick scan of the Romulan Warbird for a quick comparison to the Angel just in case they were attacked.
