The Gurdian warbird was your standard Type B Romulan version from the late 2360s repurposed obviously since the wake of the Hobus Star incident destroyed Romulus and Remus. Nothing stood out as suspicious other than their shields were raised and weapons primed and a tractor beam now locked onto the Guridian scout ship. The hail continued as Drudoc stood there waiting for the possible enemy ship to answer, but so far nothing came up. But another static filled hail came in from the scout ship =/\= Federation ship ple-static help us! We are seeking political asylum =/\= It said.

Drudoc seemed to consider the situation, “..I need options to break that tractor beam without using weapons people. What you got?” She said then.

GM CockRoach / Drudoc Andone CO

“How about an electrical overload aimed at the beam?” Philips suggested.

Lt. JG Philips
Ops Officer

Simon thought for a moment and suggested, “Could we get close enough to the scout ship, and extend our shields so that they would be protected by our shield arrays - it would be a high power requirement to do something like that, though, captain…” Simon suggested, along with the downside of power usage that a maneuver like that would take.

Lieutenant (J.G) Simon Starr, CoS

“If we shut down all nonessential systems, we might be able to gather enough power to extend our shields,” Jasmijn offered, contemplating alternatives. “Lt. Emmitt, is it possible we could intercept the tractor beam and polarize our hull?” She was no engineer, but she knew most ships used the polarizing approach when attacked by a tractor beam. But was it possible to intercept one and break it with a similar method? She wasn’t sure.

Lt. Cmdr. DeVries

“I can give you the power to do so if needed, Commander.” The Operations Chief stated as they waited for Lieutenent Emmitt’s reply. Tenzing tried to focus his mind onto the Scout to find an emotional state. Hopefully that would give him some insight on why the AA was trying to save him in the first place.

Trainor
Operations Chief

“Already a step ahead of you on that one Commander .. I’ve already shut down the non-essential areas and equipment. We should have an okay aux reserve at the moment. We could take either approach.” Just to confirm, Chris navigated through several menus on his display to ensure the power requirements needed for a shield extension or to polarize the hull. Both would take significant power, but they could only do one or the other. “It might be a point of tactics at this point .. I’d have to defer a decision to the CTO or yourself Commander on whether it would be more sound to extend the shields, or intercept and neutralize the tractor bear with our polarized hull, but we have the power for it. It would be a significant drain, but we can make it happen.” Chris gave a confident answer and was ready to perform either action at a moments notice.

Lt. Chris Emmitt (CE)

GM CockRoach

”..Divert all spare power to the shields, helm move us within 300 meters of the Gurdian scout ship. Prepare to extend shields..” She said. “..Tactical stand by weapons if the warbird opens fire, target their weapons if they do..” She said wanting to avoid a possible political fallout if this went south.

As the Ark angel moved forward into position the shields would extend on command. There was a long pause as the shields fought off the warbird’s tractor beam then it ended. A moment later the warbird backed off another 500 meters and then finally answered Drudoc’s earlier hail.

Coming on screen was a Gurdian, they were humanoid like with slight ridged heads similar to a Romulan but different in that they were a down and up V shape. =/\= Federation vessel you are interfering in an internal Gurdian matter. Release the scout ship at once or we WILL open fire. =/\= the female Captain of the warbird said.

Standing and moving forward Drudoc took center stage in replying =/\= Gurdian Captain. This is Fleet Captain Drudoc Andone of the USS Ark Angel. The scout ship has requested political asylum around a planet inhabited by a Federation citizen. Under interstellar law this makes this system claimed for survey by the United Federation of Planets. If you wish to discuss this matter in a hearing I will listen, but unless that is to be taken I must ask you to leave orbit and follow through on normal political channels..=/\= She said. Drudoc wasn’t lying about the interstellar law, but it was just a matter if the Gurdian Captain would abide by it way out here in the hind end of space.

=/\= I warn you Captain you are harboring dangerous fugitives of the Gurdian people. I will tell you one more time, lower your shields and turn the scout ship over to us. I have my orders to take them by any means if necessary.=/\= The woman said again.

=/\= They are now under our protection Captain. Until thi—=/\= Drudoc began diplomatically but the channel closed and the warbird opened fire along the Ark Angel’s extended forward shields which went down to 89% as the ship shuddered under the impact. Turning quickly she said. “..Ops beam anyone off that ship then return shields to normal operations, have a security detail in transporter room one! Tactical once shields are restored return fire to disable the warbird. Helm begin evasive pattern Andone 7 Alpha..” She said taking her seat again.

GM CockRoach / Drudoc Andone CO

“Aye Captain,” Simon replied. He hoped that there could have been a more peaceful solution, but he ensured that the ship was aiming at the weapons system of the Gurdin vessel. At the same time, he sent a request for a security team to await arrival of the scout ship’s crew. Once everything was in place, he quickly disabled the shields to allow transport from the scout ship to the ark angel. “Shields lowered for beam-out,” he said to the bridge, specifically to ops so that the transport could be completed. He knew that for these next few seconds, the ship was vulnerable and in Ops’ hands to retrieve the asylum seekers.

Lieutenant (J.G) Simon Starr, CoS

“Aye captain, sensors indicate people on the bridge. Transporter is locked on to them.”
Lt. JG Philips
Ops Officer

OOC: Pasting in split again

“”All personnel are beamed off that ship, they are in transporter 2. Shields are up and full power. =^= Security, please report to transporter 2.=^=”
Lt. JG Philips
Ops. Officer

Transporter room 2 reported they had gotten 3 people off the scout ship no other life signs were detected.

GM CockRoach

“Nice work Philips!” Tenzing called out. The Operations Chief began to receive the damage report list and began uploading it to a nearby PaDD. “Captain, our guests will be taken to Sickbay for a quick exam if you want to send someone there to meet them.” Trainor stated.

Trainor
Operations Chief
“Thank you sir.” Philips said

OOC: Pasting in CE’s split! Watch the thread lines folks!

“Shields are holding Captain, but we’re significantly down in reserves due to extending the shield. Charging will be slow!” Chris was already scratching his head on trying to find more power to allocate that wasn’t already shut down. He had to have enough power to the weapons since they were currently charging and ready to be fired at a moments notice. He had to be prepared for possible damage if the shields couldn’t recharge fast enough. He opened an internal comm to Engineering. =^= Damage control teams, stand by, be prepared for anything. Head to the standard rendezvous points!=^=

Lt. Chris Emmitt (CE)

GM CockRoach

OOC: My apologies! Caught the wrong thread!

“Power is being diverted to all weapons.”
