“One of them is named Lucana, Captain.” Lieutenant Commander Trainor announced. He must have missed the name of the others, but they weren’t extremely forthcoming anyway.

Lucana after a moment spoke, “..I will have nothing to do with a Rom—” she began but then one of the men stepped up.

”..Lucana letting hatred spread through us won’t help our cause. We have come so far and gave up so much to see this through you said it yourself that no matter the cost we need to find the Fifth Scroll of the Lawgiver!” he said.

With a heavy sigh Lucana nodded, “..You are right my friend Avakar. As always..” She said. turning to Drudoc she finally spoke again, “..Apologies Captain, but as I am sure you know the relationship between your people and mine especially since our so recent and hard fought effort to gain our freedom from the Empire…” She began but then another arm touch by Avakar made her get to the point. “..In either case, as you probably know the Gurdian people in Garid are broken into two sects and since being released from the Empire’s rule governed by four ancient scrolls passed down by the Lawgiver.” She began which Drudoc nodded some, “..What you may not know is there is evidence of a fifth scroll that would give equal rights to the lower class as which the upper class now enjoy. Our reason for requesting asylum is to find the fifth scroll somewhere in this region of space, possibly in Federation territory..” She said.

The third man then spoke, as Drudoc seemed to contemplate their words. “..I am T’Bak Captain and surely you must understand that the discovery of the Fifth scroll if true would be of one of the greatest social discoveries of this late century! Even if my sisters Lucana has soured your reception of us, I would urge you to speak to a Vulcan we have discovered in this area known as Shanok to confirm or deny our findings, if for nothing else then science’s sake..” he said.

Avakar then spoke, “..Captain you know surely more then anyone what this could mean to Garid and the Gurdian people. We could be united as one not lorded over by a corrupt Government who keeps the lower class in not much more than chains of serventitude. We can not do this without you and your crew’s help. Please grant us asylum and help us to find the Fifth Scroll and return it to Garid..” he said.

All three looked at Drudoc and the crew around her with varying degrees of hope in their eyes. After a moment Drudoc spoke, “..You say you found a Vulcan named Shanok in this region who may know more, it just so happens he is on this planet below investigating some ruins. I must inform you though that I can not yet make a decision on granting you asylum until I confer with my superiores on the situation first. Until then I will have my XO and staff accompany you to the bridge, where we can contact Shanok and you can present your evidence and case to him. We will then go from there. Ok?” she said.

After a moment all three nodded, turning to the XO and Trainor she said, “..Commanders escort our guests to the bridge, and contact Shanok on the planet below, inform him of what’s going on and what help he might provide them while I confer with Starfleet..” She said. “..Any questions?” She asked the group.

“Of course,” Jasmijn responded. She’d maintained her silence through Drudoc’s guidance. While the Captain spoke with their Gurdian visitors, DeVries had devoted her energy to studying them; watching them for any sign of malevolence or deception.

Simon raised his hand slightly, “I don’t wish to overstep captain, but I can see potential breaches of the prime directive here, this would get us involved in the politics of the Gurdians and could affect their development as a society in a major way, I suggest we are careful, ma’am,” he simply quietly to the captain, before joining the Commanders in the escort group.

Lieutenant (J.G) Simon Starr, CoS

Drudoc turned to the Starr, “..Thank you for the reminder lieutenant. We will proceed carefully either way, hence why I am conferring with Starfleet..” She said turning to leave as well to head to her ready room.

“Miss Lacuna, if you are your associates would follow Commander Trainor and I,” she gestured to the sickbay doors.

Lt. Cmdr. DeVries, XO

Tenzing waited until their guests started to leave before following them. The Operations Chief was curious to hear their story, and why they were being pursued. “We’ll set you all up with quarters once we finish, and I’ll have one of my officers show you around as well.” Lieutenant Commander Trainor announced as they left the Sickbay.
