“Actually, I think I have that covered Lieutenant.” Trainor said as he held up the computer’s hard drive. “I wonder what we’ll find on here.” Tenzing added as he handed it over to the junior Lieutenant.

When Phillips took the hard drive, he found it solidly intact, it wouldn’t take much effort to probably rig a connection to it for access through their Tricorder and use of their engineering kit on hand.

“Jones, are you still around?” The OPS Chief called out, having lost sight of the Klingon Security Officer.

Trainor OPS Chief

“I am.” Arthur said, stepping out from where he was examining a pillar. “Interesting pillars.”

Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk

=/\=Lieutenant Starr to Ensign Jones. Are you away from Shanok right now?=/\=

Lieutenant (J.G) Simon Starr, CoS

“It looks interesting. I wonder who built this.”

Lt. JG Philips Ops Officer

Just before Jones could reply to the COS another voice answered Phillip’s question. “..The Lawgiver and his servants obviously Lieutenant Phillips. Who else could build such vast structures to stand the test of time even after such a horrid fall from grace..” Shanok said coming in through the entryway. It seems he had not yet heard the comm call of the COS.

Arthur’s eyes darted between Shanok and Philips, raising his phaser slightly, but in such a way it could easily be brought to the ready, it was more of a defensive stance than anything else. =/\=Uh…no sir.=/\=

Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk

=/\=OK, be on your guard down there, they may be trouble nearby=/\=

Lieutenant (J.G) Simon Starr, CoS

As soon as he heard that, Arthur’s right hand went down to his knife, which he drew, but kept low, getting into an alert defensive stance that’d allow him to respond to almost anything.

Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk

‘Yes sir.” Philips said as his hand was grabbing for the phaser. He walked around the area cautiously, looking at the ancient artifacts all over the place. His tricorder scanning what he saw.

Lt. JG Philips Ops Officer

Seeing the three officers take more defensive stances and draw weapons Shanok raised a single Vulcan eyebrow. “..It seems your Lieutenant Starr suspects danger is afoot here. Have you found something to warrant such caution? And have you found anything related to the Lawgiver?” He inquired, the last bit with a clear slip up hint of emotional excitement in his voice before it returned to normal as he looked to where Trainor and Phillips were with the Hard Drive.

GM CockRoach

“We found this hard drive…” Trainor explained, slightly annoyed that the COS didn’t provide them with more information. “I was planning on taking it to the Ark Angel to examine it.” Tenzing relaxed his mind some as he tried to read Shanok’s composure. How long was he standing there? Trainor thought to himself.

Trainor Ops Chief

Reading Shanok’s body posture he seemed almost like a coiled spring ready to pop, quite unvulcan like really oddly enough. As for how long he stood there it couldn’t have been that long given the passage of time from his report to Phillip earlier being on his way here till now, perhaps a moment or two at most!

Shanok perked up even more coming over to Trainor. “..Surely you could use your tricorder to get a baseline read on the drive’s contents before needing to return to your ship could you not? In addition I am sure my own computer primitive as it may be to your ship’s computer could handle a link up back at my camp..” He asked.

GM CockRoach

Cakewalk my rear end… Tenzing thought to himself as he continued to hold the hard drive. “Sure I could use my tricorder, but the Angel’s computer could deliver faster results Professor.” The Operations Chief took a slight step back from the perky Vulcan. “I doubt you’ll watch my cold.” Lt Commander Trainor stated, trying to stall Shanok. He realized that Jones and Philips may not be able to sense Shanok’s abnormality, but was hoping the Professor’s body language gave clue.

Trainor OPS

Arthur moved so he was slightly between Tenzig and Shanok, the…vulcan’s…body language was something he had seen many times on Qo’noS, someone rearing up for a strike. “We will not be going anywhere with you.” He said, his voice taking on what could best be described as a Klingon accent.

Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk

”..I had not implied on going anywhere Ensign.” Shanok replied without pause almost seeming offended, again an un-Vulcan like reaction overall. “..Perhaps you should resume your patrol here? More of those Grave Ooze creatures could be about.” He stated

Don’t provoke the Vulcan, Jones… Tenzing thought to himself as he took another step back. Shanok was obviously not in the right state of mind, and Trainor didn’t want anyone to get hurt. The Operations Chief pressed his comm badge.

=^=Trainor to Ark Angel: I’ve found a hard drive from one of the computers in the ruins. Would you be able to transport it to Engineering?=^= Lieutenant Commander Trainor paused for a moment and stared at Jones and Shanok. =^=…Could we also get a Doctor down here to take a look at Shanok, he’s acting a little un-Vulcan like..=^=

Trainor Ops Chief

Drudoc’s voice replied after a second =/\= Transport is currently impossible due to inference from the power generators in the ruin debths, you’ll need to return to the main base camp by Shanok’s tent where the rest of the away team is with the transport enhancers for a beam out. =/\= Drudoc said.

Before more could be said though Shanok interrupted. “..Really Commander I do not understand what you imply when you say I am ‘un-Vulcan like’. I am as green bloodied as any Vulcan alive. But I am quite interested in seeing what is on that hard drive! I am so close to finding the Lawgiver’s truth from my studies can be.....” he paused his eyes glinting with a hint of almost slimey madness for a second before they cooled to normal. “..so enlightening.” He finished. Both of Shanok’s hands stood at an ‘at ease’ position behind his back at his waist.

OOC: One final edit to add the last bit about Shanok’s hand positioning.

GM CockRoach

Tenzing was able to sense that there were people, most likely the away team, heading his way and were close by. Trainor had two options; either object and have Shanok attack them, or agree and allow them to walk into the oncoming team. By the way Shanok was postured one could only tell that he was holding something behind him, and the Ops Chief didn’t want to find out.

“Fine, we’ll head back to camp and see what treasures this drive holds.” Tenzing said to the Professor. He hoped Shanok turned, so he could be disarmed.

=^= Captain, I’m heading to camp with Shanok and the rest of my team.=^= Lieutenant Commander Trainor called out over the open comm link. “By all means, Professor, lead the way.”
