At the same time Lt. Frogue walked into the briefing room and took a chair; before he sat down Frogue said, “Sorry it took me so long to get here.”

Lt. Frogue

”..Try to be more prompt next time Lieutenant, take your seat.” She said.

Once everyone was settled she began. “..Alright seems we have picked up an automated distress beacon from the USS Browns Town, a mid-23rd century Anton class light cruiser lost with all hands in 2251 while field testing an at the time experimental warp field and plasma mixture outside the Sol system.” She said pressing a button showing the beacon was being picked up from the 3rd planet from the system they were currently entering. “..scans show the beacon is on the 3rd planet, so we can anticipate the ship or survivors are planet side. Due to weather in the region we can’t yet get a clear scan of the site until we reach orbit.” She explained.

”..Till then department orders are as follows, Medical shall prep all sickbays for potential injured or survivors, Operations and Engineering I want prepped for possible recovery efforts of the ship’s remains. Science I want a full scan of the system, ensure there are no surprises lying in wait for us, and finally Security will prep to secure a landing site and the system once we hit orbit. Once there we’ll reassess the situation and proceed carefully. But for now this is a rescue operation. Questions?” She asked.

Drudoc Andone CO

“Ops will be ready for the recovery phase. Everything will be prepared by the time we arrive.”

Lt. JG Philips Ops Officer

“Run landing zone securing drills.” Arthur thought out loud, before taking a sip from his coffee. “I’ll have us run both standard and defensive drills, on the off chance this changes from a rescue operation.”

Miz’uki had been paying attention initially and knew what the situation was however her eyes soon went vacant as she just was not really there she could feel the tickle of that roach crawling up her tail even though it was long since dead and she was using every bit of her concentration to keep herself from freaking out at a phantom

“I would also recommend keeping an eye out for any sign of temporal interference, I’d suggest scanning for chroniton radiation as well, captain. The ship went missing over 100 years ago, so it’s possible that it could temporal in nature.” Also, everyone keep the Temporal Prime Directive in mind as we deal with this rescue operation,” Simon said to the group. “We don’t know exactly what we’re going to find there,” he added.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

”..Agreed, Lieutenant. Sciences will scan for that first thing as we finish this meeting.” Drudoc said with a nod to the CSO.

“Understood sir, how would we handle it if there are survivors or if there is anyone on board?”

Lt. JG Philips Ops Officer

”..If we encounter any survivors either planet side or on a ship and there is signs of temporal transitioning we will keep all information on the current year vague as well as for future events from their perspective, unless I deem it necessary to reveal it. For now unless we detect any chronitons or other temporal anomalies we will operate under the assumption they are descendants from the original crew..” She said.

Drudoc Andone CO

Trax took in all the information and it all made logical sense to him as he spoke. “All sickbays and related areas will be ready for anything that might arise. Sir!” Trax said calmly. “He was trying to run numbers in his head the ship was lost in 2251 and its now 2396 that’s roughly 145 years sir! there are several possibilities one there all dead and all we would find is the ship and bodies or we find them in stasis or cryo froze so they might be out of time and space as it were. or we might come across there descendants they could be back to pre-warp society again or they might be intact and just arrived from the 2251 era.” Trax added his observations. “But we will be ready for any events or conditions. As for the vessel if its intact and no crew might have a skeleton crew on stand by for flying the vessel home to port.”

Lt Jg Trax Suder - CMO

Frogue went to reply, started, “sir… never mind, science will follow your orders sir and be ready” said Lt. Frogue

Chief Science Officer

”..Alright then, if there are no other questions or comments you’re all dismissed to return to your posts. We should be entering orbit within the next 15 minutes..” Drudoc said.

Trainor filed in as the various department heads proceeded to leave the room. “Sorry for the no show, Captain.” Tenzing said, sounding stuffy. The Captain could see a tissue peeking out from his right pocket. “I may have forgotten to report my cold, but one of the docs caught me on the way here before the Briefing and made me go down to Sickbay...... though I was told I would be good to go in a few hours.”

It didn’t take a Betazoid to know the Captain was annoyed or angry with his absence, but Lt Cmdr Trainor had coached Philips to take the initiative if the time ever came for him to do so.

Trainor
OPS

“Commander, here is the PADD with all the information about this mission. I’m glad you trusted me with this, sir. Basically we have to make sure any survivors do not know what year this is, and see if there is any chronitons present.” Philips said to his superior. After Philips handed Trainor the PADD, Philips waited for orders to proceed with the mission.

Lt. JG Philips
Ops Officer

“What do you think we should do Cmdr. (Trainor)?”

Lt. JG Philips
Ops Officer

Simon waited until everyone else had left before leaving himself, but when he noticed Phillips hang around and Trainor appear, Starr stood behind Phillips and cleared his throat. “I believe you can have that conversation at your station, Lieutenant,” he said with a smile, but also authority, which sounded strange coming from the southern British accent that Simon had. “Unless there was anything else you would like to ask?” he asked curiously, toward both Phillips and Trainor.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

“Understand sir, but wouldn’t Trainor be in charge now since he’s here? Unless you want me to be in charge of this mission (Starr)?”

Lt. JG Philips
Ops Officer

Drudoc spoke up, “..Lieutenant, while Commander Trainor will be in charge of the Operations department there are still things for you to perform on the bridge, mainly checking over the preparations for recovery efforts of any ship debris or the ship itself. You said earlier your task was to scan for Chronitons, this is not the task I assigned the Operations department that was for science. So return to the bridge and review progress on preparing for recovery efforts with engineering. Then let the XO know.” Drudoc said. “..and if in the future you are given the important task of representing your department make sure you are clear on what the department is to be doing then, otherwise it causes confusion like this..”

Drudoc Andone CO

Miz’uki had of course heard what she needed to do even in her slight daze still even after being dismissed she had to take a few short moments to collect herself by taking deep breaths and putting what happened in the Cargo bay out of her mind she then got up and headed back to the bridge

Lt. Frogue moved from the conference room to his station as ordered. He wanted to be prepared when the XO or the CO asked him for the results of his Chronitons scan. Lt. Frogue was not 100% sure of himself yet as he was still learning his new post. Chief Science Officer was about as big a responsibility as Frogue could have imagined. That said, he was not about to let the Captain down.

OOC: Will we start a new thread for the science results?
