Arthur was glad to finally be off duty. He was, admittedly, a tiny bit overwhelmed with being the head of the Security department. But he didn’t show it, he was a warrior, that was a sign of weakness, though he did remember a comment the XO had once said, so he wandered down to 17/18 forward. Arthur has sent the XO a message asking to meet him here in hopes of picking his brain, as the saying went, and getting some advice.

Arthur Jones, Son of RuK

OOC: Quick question what time is this placed at? I’m assuming likely sometime after the events of your guard duty in sickbay 1 (which would now be over i guess). Just want to keep track of events for continuity of the main sim vs side sims.

GM CockRoach

OOC: Yeah, after guard duty, whenever that is.

Katy/Jones

Simon received the message that the chief of security wanted to talk shop, and Simon himself also wanted a chance to catch up with him. The two of them also hadn’t had the time to get a handover done, and there were some outstanding orders that he wanted to pass onto him. He still couldn’t shake the fact that Trax was being spied on under his watch and wanted to make sure that didn’t happen again. He had no choice but to let him know the situation. Simon responded to the message, letting him know he was on his way - and if he could accompany him somewhere after the chat to discuss something. He didn’t leave any further details on the situation in the message, leaving it deliberately vague.

Simon made his way to the Turbolift from 17/18 Forward from his short break, “duty calls,” he said to the junior officers he was getting to know over his break, and made his way towards his old office. It felt strange, making the journey again, one that he had made many times on the ship since he began on the Ark Angel. He rubbed his head, the fatigue of the amount of work he had done to get as far as he had starting to take a toll on him. And it was almost time for his annual psych review. Once again realizing the last time he had one, just one year ago, was when he first boarded the ship fresh from the Academy in the yellow uniform of Security.

After the few moments the turbolift took to arrive on deck 14, Simon managed to compose himself as he made his way down the familiar corridors to the Chief of Security’s office, taking a look around at his old daily routine gave him a nostalgic feeling. After taking a breath, he pressed the chime to the Chief of Security’s door, having almost just walked in unannounced as he was so used to.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO.

“It’s open!” Arthur called, knowing immediately who it was. The invitation to follow him afterwards was…intriguing…to say the least.

Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk

IC:
Simon entered and took a look around at the changes in decoration, remembering that he hadn’t had time to do his yet with the work he’d been doing in his spare time on his brother. “I must admit, it almost feels like visiting your old home,” he said quietly to himself as he just looked around with a bittersweet sigh. He was probably going to miss working here, but he had to admit the new office was much bigger, and the bed more comfortable. This was the route Simon took, and knew that a good officer had taken on the mantle, having spent some time working with Arthur already. “Always good to find out what someone would find useful first, so, how can I help you Lieutenant, both as your XO and any questions you have on your new role?” Simon asked.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

“I’ve jotted down an idea for a new defensive formation, I was wondering your thoughts on.” Arthur said, sliding a PADD over to Simon. It would show a new four-man formation to protect an away team, but a rather crude drawing that looked like a 4 year old drew it.

Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk

Simon looked over the PaDD and skimmed it “In certain circumstances this will be fine, but sometimes that many people on an away team can make it rather crowded,” he said, “Think about all possibilities, threats, and the like. I think this would be useful in dangerous situations, so don’t get me wrong. Just bear in mind we can sometimes only take so many people along, and we can’t have four security officers as the only priority in all cases, especially if it’s a multifaceted issue, we need to keep the team balanced,” he explained. Having heavy security was sometimes a necessity, but Simon had also knew that in his time on the ark angel, there hasn’t been one mission that has only relied on one department.

“However, I actually do want you to prepare this arrangement for emergancy foot patrol escorts,” Simon continued to explain. “That’s something I wanted to talk to you about, as a last resort to have as an option. You remember that I asked you to join me after this meeting, I want you to come with me to Sickbay so we can talk to Dr. Sudur. He has a problem that needs your department’s expertise, we’ll discuss more before we go - at least the parts that wouldn’t be better to hear from the doctor himself,” Simon told Arthur.

“If there’s anything else you wish to bring up first, we will save that for the end of the meeting,” Simon reassured Arthur, giving him time to ask any other questions he may have had, in relation to the new information or the job in general.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

Arthur nodded, standing and ensuring he had his knife on him. “Lead the way then, sir.”

Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk

“Before we go, I want to show you something,” Simon told him, walking over to the computer and pulling up a classified report. “This information is to be kept to need-to-know only, however as you are now our chief of security, you need to know. Not long after we left the Beta Quadrant, not long before we encountered Shanok, We found a device in Trax’s quarters,” he said, pulling up the report showing the camera that was hidden in the CMO’s room. “Someone has been watching him, and we have a theory as to who. The rest, I will let Trax explain, let’s go,” he said, heading out of his old office before tapping his commbadge.

=/\=Lieutenant Starr to Doctor Sudur. The chief of security and I need to discuss something with you, we’re on our way to sickbay now.=/\=

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

Trax heard the call. ” Trax here go ahead Lt Star.” as he listened to the lieutenant. “Of course I am in sickbay you are more than welcome I will be here. Trax Out.” as Trax shook his head as he started to feel the uneasiness in the man’s voice. As he finished off the odd paperwork as he grabbed a drink from the replicator and took a seat again at his chair as he waited for his future guests.

Lt Jg Trax Suder - CMO

Arthur followed, a feeling of dread creeping into the pit of his stomach. There was someone watching the CMO. That didn’t bode well…at all.

OOC: Posting in the split and then replying to it

Simon entered the turbolift and waited for the CoS to enter. After the turbolift departed, Simon said out loud “computer, halt turbolift.”

A few moments later, the turbolift stop dead in its tracks and Simon turned to the CoS “I heard whispers of an incident with a new security officer, Lieutenant. Your a starfleet officer. This is not a Klingon ship. The officer is also a Starfleet officer so deserves the same respect as any other. So, what happened?” he asked.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

“Something that should not have happened. He goaded me, insulted my honor and my place as a warrior. He also insulted my house. I will not stand for those types of insults, though I do admit that I was wrong.” Arthur said, “that being said, I should not be held entirely at fault, sir. As I said, he goaded me. He knew about the incident with my birth parents, and tried to relate me to the XO coward that killed them.”

Simon led Arthur to sickbay and stood outside the CMOs office, going up to one of the nurses to report in Simon just nodded and said “Doctor Trax is expecting us,” he told the nurse on duty before pressing the chime on the office door. He didn’t like having to ask Trax to speak about this subject again, but as Arthur was now responsible for ship Security, it was time he knew what was going on.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

Arthur Jones, son of Ruk

“Enter!” Trax said as he stood up as the officers entered. “Please come in Care for a drink? Please help yourselves to the replicator. And have a seat as the Doctor moved back to his seat and took a drink of his beverage. As he sat quietly to see what was on their minds. Trax wanted to probe their minds but knew that was not a wise thing to do unless ordered to do so.

Lt Jg Trax Suder - CMO

“Thank you, Lieutenant,” Simon replied as he got himself a water and took a seat, letting Arthur do the same if he wished and then turned to the CMO. “Lieutenant, everything you are about to hear is considered classified. Right now, only three people on the ship are aware of this, but the Chief Medical Officer is a Person of Interest on his homeworld, thanks to his family. Trax, would you like to explain more?” he asked, knowing that his mother had quite a standing within the political areas of Betazed.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

It took Trax a moment to gather his thoughts and made sure he got the gist of the xo’s question. He sighed hard then shook as like someone just stepped on his past lives grave or his future one. Before he spoke. “Well, sir! Its a long story but I will try and summarize it a bit for time concerns.” Trax said quickly. “Well, it started when I went home on a brief visit home. As I arrived there was a lot of activity as I arrived at our family estate Mom had set up an unknown party I was thinking an impromptu party for my visit home for me to find out it was something a lot more than that it was another plan to get another arranged wedding to get me to settle down for one and to get her hands on to control my life and force me to give up my seed etc.”Trax said feeling a bit more uncomfortable now he really did not want to go through these events again.

“Apparently she had most or all the people involved in this endeavor on her side. Luckily I had the Ambassador Roni Raul and his aide came to my aid to attempt to help me out of the compound and home back to the ship before anything else happened As she threatened me that I would be banned from Betazed and our home on Betazed and possibly any other properties that she controls on Risa and Pacifica and Atlantica. Also forcing a ban from be even speaking with any of my family again.

Luckily they have bent the rules when they could to keep in touch when they could but its getting harder and harder to keep in contact with my brothers and other siblings on Betazed the government has placed a block on the communications array there to prevent outgoing mail or other correspondence to get to me they have been going through the ambassador and federation consolidate to get messages to me even though its more difficult now for the embassy there. Last I heard the Vulcans are involved on my behalf as for any other ambassadors. The Ambassador got them involved to try and get this situation deflated as quickly as possible.

I am not sure, but the last I heard on the Federation News service was that the federation has set into place embargo and sanctions on betazed over the illegal actions taken by them. But I haven’t heard anything more about that part. other than they are wanting statements from me about the issue and The ambassador has been dealing with the press and keeping them in the dark for now.

she revealed more of her plot after going into the main audience chambers of the main house where she conducts business and other matters as she revealed all her details to me as she wanted me there predominately and permanently after the wedding and me finally mated to a souter or mate. She tried to get the Ambassador to take that role she also had others to take the role if I did not want the ambassador as my mate.” Troy sighed hard then to a drink of his beverage before he spoke again.

“The Ambassador was post to be granted favors or payments also land from her and Betaed for the betrayal of me. Luckily the Ambassador helped me to escape from Betazed quickly on hi private limo shuttle. he just played along so he got more information on the plot and plan before bringing me back home to the Ark Angel.” Trax sighed hard as he was trying not to show his fear but he was definitely scared now and more concerned as Raxx came into the office.

“Sorry to barge in Doctor, I felt you were terrified.” Raxx said quickly looking at the other officers gathered there. “I am Raxx The Ambassador’s aide and the doctor’s new bodyguard. Assigned by the Ambassador.” Raxx said calmly as his tensions started to fade a bit. Raxx left out the part of him being Trax’s new Imzadi. “My apologies Xo and Security Chief I was not aware there was a meeting or conference.” Raxx said apologizing for the error. Trax looked at the man before he spoke. “Its ok Raxx there just wanting more information to the problems with me and Betazed.” Trax sighed hard as Raxx went to the replicator and ordered a strong drink quietly for Trax and took it to him quietly then he prepared to leave again and took a seat in the lobby so he could see the doctor and kept an eye on him.

“Thank you!” and he gave Raxx a quick mental hug from him. as he took a small sip from the new glass. (others might feel the warm thoughts presented out but not sure where it came from unless asked.) As he watched the man leave the room again. “Then finding that robo camera in my room the other day did not help me feel safe I was terrified if that thing could get onboard the ship somehow. There maybe be a spy for my mom aboard or something.” Trax said with a big of concern bu was calmer now. He looked at Raxx from time to time but did his best to keep on topic. “I would have hoped the captain had filled you in on this but …” Trax fell silent again. As he closed his eyes for a long moment before he opened them again. as he continued. “it would have been easier on me.” trax said taking another drink from the glass.

Occ Add where is neeeded

Arthur growled just ever so slightly at the thought of the intrusion on the ship. “Spies on board doesn’t bode well for anyone.” He shook his head. “Them primarily, but still. I’ll have to get to the bottom of this–as gently as I can, doctor.” Arthur said, casting his eyes around the room and taking in his surroundings.

Arthur Jones, son of Ruk

“Thank you Sir! I appreciate the Gentle approach to this as we dontt want to scare them off or away.” Trax said calmly to the officer.

Lt Jg Trax Suder - CMO

“I do apologize for asking you to talk about it again doctor, I just feel this sort of incident sometimes comes best from the source, as the captain and I are prone to leave out details that might or might not be pertinant, and in these sorts of situations, every detail may be important,” he said to both the CoS and CMO. “I guess that’s the security officer in me,” he said with a smile. “I appreciate your time, Trax. Now, just because you were raised klingon, Lieutenant, does not give you their anatomy. While we’re here, I want you to get checked out after the scuffle. You can play tough guy all you want, but I want the crew working at maximum efficiency and an injury can hinder that,” Simon said, turning towards the CoS. “Just because your a security officer, doesn’t make you indestructable, Lieutenant. If either of you have any questions or want to bring anything up while I’m here, now is a good time, otherwise I’ll take my leave and let you get to work, Doctor,” he said with a nod, directing the last invitation to both officers.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

“I understand the reasons why you had to ask me the questions and get the answers I hope you got. I know this was not done out of malice and meanness.” Trax said calmly to the xo and the other officers. “I hope this situation clears itself soon but I have a funny feeling mother dear is going to make it a living hell for me as you humans say.” Trax said trying to be more light-hearted about the situation. Even though it was truly not a laughing matter. “I will be here if you have any more questions.” Trax said with a straight face. He was glad he had such good friends here on the Ark angel and there concern was appreciated greatly. As he took another drink of his beverage.

Lt Jg Trax Suder - CMO

Vronclon stood in the back intently holding in his rage. He thought that it was not uncommon to do that to himself, heck to his whole species, but to do that to a kind doctor? He was confused. He would help his only friend anyway he could.

Ensign Vronclon s’Viaen Security

Trax felt the change in the officer’s demeanor as he felt the confusion and the hidden rage coming from the officer. “Ensign when you have a minute I would like to speak with you more after this meeting is over. OK? Your not in any trouble,” Trax said quickly to the ensign so to keep things calm and no one had to be on edge about the doctor’s odd situation.

Lt Jg Trax Suder - CMO

“Well, I’ve already asked questions when I was in Arthur’s position, but I felt it important he knew about what was going on in his new position,” Simon told the two officers, before the Ensign appeared. When he saw the Romulan ensign outside the secured office, he walked out and nodded “Well, I’ll let you see the Ensign, doctor. Lieutenant, I’ll let you discuss anything else you wish with Trax,” and he leaned in and whispered “and get me a background on the ambassador and his aide that are accompanying the doctor, that’s where I would start at least,” trying to make sure Trax didn’t hear what he told Arthur.

He raised his tone to ensure the doctor heard his next comment to Arthur, however. “And I recommend getting yourself checked out, after all. You might behave like a klingon, but you don’t have their redundant organs. I can’t order you to go to sickbay, but as we’re here already at least get yourself checked, Lieutenant,” he said, before leaving the office and heading out of sickbay to return to his office.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO

“Of course doctor. I’ll wait.”
