It was almost 4 months later the Ark Angel had proceeded on a direct course back to Federation space at Warp 6.5, carrying their temporally displaced survivors of the Browns Town they had not deviated for any normal surveys or the like in that time. Thankfully in this almost 4 moth time the Brown’s Town crew had not been a problem, taking advantage of the publicly accessible ship’s amenities to pass their time and cope with the reality of likely being stuck in the late 24th century now.

For now on the bridge, Drudoc sat during a mid-morning shift, when over at the engineering station a warning beeped. When Miz’uki checked she would find their was a slight deviation in their warp field harmonics almost like something was causing the ship to ‘drag’.

GM CockRoach

Trax was visiting the bridge for a bit checking out the area as it were. He was surprisingly calm at this moment as he headed the warning beeping from the engineering station. He sat calmly not to get in the way. But he felt odd that it was to quiet where his mother was concerned he even did not hear from his family. which was odd. or mother dear finally got the gag order in place on Betazed. As he shook his head to clear such thoughts out of his mind. As he did his best to think of more pleasant thoughts. Trax was going to say something but stopped then started again. “Thank you for having me visit the bridge sir it was a nice diversion. But if you excuse me I will go check things out in medical. ” as Trax stood and waited for the captain to acknowledge him. Then he moved to the Turbo lift and tapped the call button.

Lt Jg Trax Suder - Cmo

”..Very well Doctor..” Drudoc said, “..if you could send me an update on the health of the Brown’s Town crew so I can forward it to Lt Commander Traleen for his review it would be appreciated..” She said.

Guy looked at the screen while everyone on board did their job and the Captain chattering with the crew “ahh, Earth, what the heck I missed that blue sphere.” He commented walking by every post “I am sure that when we’ll arrive home everyone one will be pleased, except me. I hate visiting my mother. You know? She is such… like a virus, a parasite.”

Then when he felt the most tired to check and re-check all personnel on the bridge with his usual scary eyes he sat and checked the screen “when is the ETA?” Asked to whoever was able to reply.

Lieutenant Freeman, Guy - Chief Counselor Officer

The NE at helm, turned to regard Guy, “..ETA to where?” He asked, “..If you mean to reenter Federation space we’re still about two days out, from there its another half a day till we reach Starbase 243..” he stated.

Drudoc hearing the beeping turned to Miz’uki, “..Report Lieutenant, what seems to be the issue?” she inquired.

GM CockRoach

“A Slight Deviation in our warp field it seems like something might be causing some drag on it trying to compensate” she purred working her console furiously

Miz’uki

Attempts to compensate for the drag had minimal effect. If anything it made the drag worse....

Simon looked towards the captain with a look of concern. “Any idea what caused it?” He asked, the question directed towards Miz’uki.

Lieutenant Simon Starr, CoS

“We ran a systems check a few hours ago and everything seemed fine…” Trainor murmured loud enough to be heard. “I’ll pull up the last check of the plasma conduits and see if there’s anything out of the ordinary going on.”

Trainor
OPS

Reviewing the logs seemed in the green, no problems showed up now or in the past from diagnostics as Trainor found.

“Maybe someone of the crew fell in the warp coil field and accidentally… burned up. Just to say.” He chuckled “no? You are all a bunch of unfunny people!” He looked the bridge crew all over. As Guy sat on his chair he kept looking the screen and brought on his hand his PaDD for some paper work to check.

Lieutenant Freeman, Guy - Chief Counselor Officer

Trax nodded the captain’s order quietly he knew there was too much going on now to talk. As the car arrived for him to leave to here the bad-tasting joke from the new Chief counselor. He already missed the last counselor now. As he got in as the doors closed to the lift. “Sickbay.” as the car left and took him away from the bridge.

Lt Jg Trax Suder - CMO

“I have no idea…I do remember an instance when NX-01 had a ship for lack of a better term drafting in its warp field due to damages preventing them from being able to go to warp themselves…Captain If we release some of our warp plasma we might be able to see if there is something out there causing the drag it would if nothing else at least help in diagnosing the problem” she purred asking permssion to vent some plasma to flush out whatever might be back there

Miz’uki

Drudoc considered, “..Vent the plasma. If nothing does show up it could be a misalignment in the warp coil stabilizers.” She said.

As the venting proceeded they quickly got results. A shadowed form of a cloaked ship, three cloaked ships trailing to port, starboard, and even between their nacelles just inside their bubble was picked up! Drudoc rose stiffly barking out an order but it came too late as the ship’s decloaked revealing themselves to be Orion built Wanderer Blockade Runners, four in total in fact now opened fire. The shots were surgical and to the point. The first blew out the Ark Angel’s weapon’s and shield systems, with the second dropping them from warp.

The ship went tumbling the helm NE struggling to orient the ship as red alert klaxons blared. “..Red Alert! All hands battle stations..” Drudoc said stiffly rising from the floor where her own tumble had seen her hit her head on the side of her chair. Thankfully the padding of foam there had kept her from being too badly injured. But no sooner had she said so then they had yet another problem coming on board, namely in this case 12 beefy Orion males, a masked human and much likely to Miz’uki’s alarm two Xindi insectoids both flanking her currently, and armed with disruptor rifles had beamed in and quickly trained their weapons on all present. The whole boarding process and attack had been quick, surgical and deadly efficient, clearly their venting had come just seconds before the actual attack would have begun anyhow.

“Any moves by you or your crew Romulan would be unwise..” A male voice from behind a armored mask said, this one was a bit smaller then the Orion males likely a human.

Drudoc took stock of the situation, she saw by a flood of reports this wasnt the only spot they were boarding, other decks were calling in intruder alerts and already small firefights had broken out around the ship. Seeing Drudoc saw this the man spoke, “..We got no desire to cause more harm then needed, order your crew to case resistance or things will be most painful for you..” he said.

”..What assurances do I have you wont harm my crew if I do?” She said.

”..We’re here for only one thing, we get that thing and we leave. No more no less, you got my word..” He said, and for Starr he might get a nagging suspicion he might recognize that voice muffled as it was.

Standing slowly ever fiber of Drudoc’s being told her to fight, to resist, but many of the beaming ins had been near the civilian areas of the ship, likely a plan for hostages if needed. Gritting her teeth Drudoc slowly but pointedly tapped her Comm badge. =/\= All hands this is the Captain, cease resistance to invading forces, stand down…=/\= She said.

”..You made a wise order Captain. I do dislike taking hostages or shooting up ships when I don’t need too. Now everyone into the center of the bridge now!” He said. Drudoc gave a look to the crew to just play along for now.

At rifle point the bridge crew one by one got herded into the center of the bridge. Miz’uki got a bit of a slimy insectoid hand shoving her bodily to get her moving. Once they were all secured the masked man reached up to remove his mask. Starr to his possible surprise would recognize him as his lost brother.

GM CockRoach

Simon looked directly at the figure. The voice bothering him, he couldn’t place it but he knew he had heard it before. Something was telling him that. He looked straight at the figure and asked “You know, if you tell us what your looking for, we might be able to help you,” the southern British accent unmistakable, as he slowly moved toward the center of the bridge, but keeping his contact on the masked figure.
