Kala wasn’t looking forward to her counseling session, having ‘family issues’ and being kicked out of your home as a young adult meant that Starfleet took a particular interest in your mental health and ensured you did quarterly check-ups with a counselor. Now she had been assigned to a ship the process would have to start again. The thought caused her stomach to do a little cartwheel before settling again.

Walking up to the counselor’s office Kala was holding a small jar with a maple leaf engraved into the front the contents gold in color and extremely sweet looking. One of the other scientists aboard had recommended bringing a jar. Kala was still undecided if it was a joke but she figured that anything to help with the smooth transition aboard was worth trying so she looked through the ship’s database and found maple syrup, a syrup made from xylem sap of sugar maple and fondly a part Canadian Culture. Raising her free right hand she pressed the door chime.

“FIGAROOOOO” Guy was singing as he suddenly heard the chiming of the door “OH JESUS!” He jumped of scare and quickly turned off the music from the computer database. As he recovered from the unseen scare of being found singing, the counselor breathed heavily and stood up for a moment sighting the door and asking whether he was still in pause, or the job actually came knocking his door.

“Where’s the PaDD?” He searched the little tablet everywhere but the desk “Right, the desk! Stupid I. Alright…” the Lieutenant paused “oh no I’m late. Ensign Gorvel, Kala. A fresh one uh? It will be interesting.”
Put on the uniform jacket and the pips, Guy took his usual pancake dish that he loved eating at 3PM after lunch. As he put the pancake on the table and crossed his arms behind his back, he swiftly came behind the desk and said “Come in.” for the thousandth time “I do even need to act like I was busy doing stuff every time I get off pause?” He questioned himself as he looked at the PaDD faking to check some reports.
