Having caught his eyes Kala smiled politely back and turn found herself suddenly feeling conscious of that one bit of hair that had fallen in front of her face so she tucked it away behind her left ear. “I’d love to try some,” She said reaching over for the cut sandwich and trying it almost immediately. It was something she hadn’t tried before and she wasn’t a fan of the tomato, but the sauce and the chicken was a nice combination. “Not quite my cup of tea so they say but its nice,” She said having just finished her bite. “Well if you’re bored you can come help me in the lab, I’m currently doing an experiment on a plant which has a very unique ability. That’s what I’ve doing when I’m excited I can’t sleep which is why you get to share this lovely opportunity with me, and me with you.”

“Yeah I prefer more stuff from my heritage than this… this Sandwich. It is funny how the first time I tasted it I was kinda embarrassed to say it sucked to the cook. But then, well I enjoyed it.” Guy said “it was more than 10 years ago, when I was still 20. Ugh, a very young Guy a different one.” He kept telling Kala remembering his past, about his experience on Earth. Then as he ate the last bit of his beloved mediocre sandwich, Guy drank the last half of the orange juice that was still there since he left the glass on the table and looked straight to the sky and said “Yeah I am pretty bored. Even thought, I always loved this view and it usually filled my boredom time to time. Ugh I hate to say it but let’s try this… plant experiment? Why not?” He half-smiled to the beautiful woman that was on the other side of the grey thick table.

“Its still a nice sandwich though, just not a Kala sandwich.” she said almost too excitedly as the prospect of sharing her unique plant with someone, the plant that a Tellarite scientist had given her the seeds for in maybe a nit so fair gae of poker. “I cant wait to show you, ive been wanting to show someone for days and im glad its you!” She exclaimed standing up and before she reached her tray something she wasnt used to happened.

Guy stood up and took His and Kala’s tray to the replicator, as the gentleman’s etiquette dictated so. Beforehand, he never joined any particularly exciting experiments and to be honest, the curiosity of the Counselor regarding whatever the Officer was talking about was pretty low. But as he would have started to notice slowly, he felt comfortable around her company and almost felt like a friendship or whatever they called it was just born.
“Let’s go? You can lead the way.” He said cleaning his uniform and keeping his usual cold expression to avoid losing the already trained jerky face. What a stupid!

“Sure, this way!” Smiling at the offer to lead Kala turned and made her way across the quiet and empty space before leaving through the doors, the coridoors mirrored the mess hall and during thier journey only passed a small handful of crewman. About half way she turned and asked”You said about being a different Guy, what do you mean?” Her tone filled with curiouity and her eyebrows furrowed.

Walking through the alleys, the chill and the soft rumble of the night shift was a soothing pleasure to hear. Then as the Ensign asked the question, Guy stopped and made a surprise moan, caught off guard “Uh…” he paused a second “I- I mean it was a different time. Just that…” for the third time, Guy was kinda placed uncomfortable and was undecided whether being truthful or back-up go some sort of excuse “I was an intrepid individual. At that time I was still studying at the medical school and… and I loved it. I truly loved it.” He resumed walking while watching Kala’s eyes once again “Then,” he moved his sight forward “My parents just removed my dreams of being medic and I was forced into Starfleet. At least I could continue my studies there, I said. I was wrong… for some time I was chosen as scientist. Then moved as counselor. I hated the time after Starfleet… tho it has nice beddings and I cannot argue with the food.”

Kala was a little confused, in her head all she could think was that Starfleet has its own science support arm so why didn’t he just do Science in Starfleet. Noticing that Guy was uncomfortable so decided not to push the subject. Guy was definitely an unusual person and an even more unusual counselor he had an odd way of dealing with things and to others maybe seem rude but Kala could see the pain and sadness behind the words. Maybe she should have been a counselor.

The Lieutenant returned silent, and looked his feet as one preceded the other. Once he looked up again, Guy asked Kala “Ms. Kala, tell me about this plant…”

Thankful too Guy for trying another topic which Kala knew he wouldn’t have found easy she smiled back at him, “Well! I received the seeds as a parting gift from a Tellerite scientist I was an understudy too during my stay at the Daystrum institute. He told me not to plant them until I got my first assignment and so as of my first day I planted them in a little seeder in science lab two and they’re almost ready, it doesn’t even have a name so that should be interesting.” Kala continued to explain excitedly to Guy until the reached the entrance to the lab “Ready?”

Guy took the words and put them inside his mind. Plant, gift, Tellerite. Tellerite? Never saw one since the Uni on Earth. He was once friend of Guy during that period and maybe now he was already a doctor somewhere in the Milky Way Galaxy. Instead he was stuck there, with no chance of changing job or division. Since Starfleet obliged Guy into Counseling, his life was broken into thousand pieces and for the consequences, the optimistic Freeman of 5 years ago was already to lose hope of finding some sort of good job if he would have left Starfleet. Then Kala said “Ready?” And his thoughts broke apart, taking him again into reality “Uhm. I need to be prepared? Yes, I need. Silly me.” He was confused at first “Alright. Yes I am ready, whatever it is… it is not a killing plant, right?” He looked forward the orange doors of the ship a bit wondering about threats he faced in the past.

OOC: for explanation, Guy could have may continued his studies of medicine in his Starfleet history while being a Biologist and Exobiologist in the science department but was to be confined into the science labs and occasionally on away missions because of his mother’s influence into Starfleet command decision. When Guy was hurt in the Red Baron incident, they permanently changed his position (of course again influenced by the family) to Counseling which was not what he wanted at all. With no choice of changing department, he could have left Starfleet, but decided that it was not worth it for the time being of having left attempting finishing his medical degree. Which caused lots of mental issues to Guy and lead to an attempt to kill himself prior to the Ark Angel. Hope it clears a bit of his history :D
