[snip]Sharah didn’t feel like sitting in her quarters tonight. She felt like she’d been cooped up in one lab, room, or another for days. She decided to take a long walk around the ship to stretch her legs, but eventually the unending view of bulkheads was as confining as being stuck in the lab. She decided she’d rather do some star gazing. She made her way to the observation lounge, rather than 17/18 Forward, hoping it would be quieter, relatively anyway. She stepped through the door and saw Lt Miz’uki sitting by one of the windows. “Oh, I’m sorry Lt. I didn’t mean to disturb you. I can leave if you prefer some privacy.”

“No It’s fine” Miz’uki Purred “I am just trying my hand at My Great Great Grandmothers speciality when she was part of Starfleet” the Caitian added smiling her tail swishing about

Sharah nods and finds a seat at a window staring out the window, wondering where a different ship is at the moment and what’s going on there. After a few moments of silence, Sharah realizes she failed to continue the conversation and has no idea if she was supposed to or not. “What was her specialty?”

Ship Design she helped design and build the Mariner class and served aboard the USS Merrimack!” she said as she continued to draw what appeared to be a design for a starship another pad nearby had calculations and specifications noted for this design she was working on it did not have a class name just yet but it appeared to be a rather small and fast ship heavily armed and armored but also had a fighter wing aboard

“Oh wow. I’ve never seen a Mariner class up close, but my brother did. He’s a security officer. He says it was beautiful in its practicality and layout. He loved it.” Sharah smiles thinking about her brother. “I’m not sure if that sounds like praise, but it is from him.” She looks briefly at the drawing. Sharah understands basic engineering but would never be able to create something like that. But she does sketch, quite well, and can appreciate the details and skill it takes to design a ship spec.

NC Garland came up about this point. He was a human man in his early 20s serving in a civilian role as one of the Ark Angel’s cooks and wait staff in 17/18 Forward. Hearing the exchange about the Mariner he set down refilled glasses for both, chiming in. “..Yeah they were quite a sight back in their heyday in the late 2290s. Got a refit in the late 2360s after Wolf 359 into the Kearsage class to fill the gap of ship rebuilding. Sturdy ships I hear too with that Rodium armor plating back in the day. The USS Merrimack actually was actually turned into a museum ship at the Black Rock facility if you didn’t know. My one aunt works there, says it’s an amazing sight. Anyhow, anything else I can get you ladies?” he asked politely.

Sharah blinked. That was a lot of information and most of it she’d never really paid attention to. A ship was a ship. She’d been more focused on the crew. But it was certainly interesting. If she got the chance a museum ship might be interesting to go see. She didn’t know food and drink was served in the observation lounge. She now had a new place to eat when she needed quiet. “Water and a grilled cheese sandwich.”

Nodding Garland, “..An excellent choice!” then looked to Miz’uki, “..and you ma’am?” he asked.

“No Thank you,” she said with a soft purr as she continued working on her ship design once the water went away she continued talking to Fayth “This design I am working on is called the Tallonrake class It’s based on the same principle as the Bogue Class Escort Carrier from Earth history its small light heavily armed and armored and has a small Airwing which can be used to help patrols and such” she explained showing what she was working on
