If it's not chocolate, it's not breakfast.

The invitation from Fayth was returned by Drudoc accepting it for the following morning. At 0600 sharp there was a soft chime at Fayth’s door.

Outside Tel’eck despite the early hour was a bundle of energy. “..This is so cool Mom! Not that you ever fail to make excellent breakfasts but its so cool to get someone else to do it besides the usual cooks too!” She said.

”..Indeed my Bright Star.” She said glancing at some passing NEs who glanced her way, some rushing off to the day shift just beginning, others coming off the night shift. A few glances were obvious what some NEs felt the single parent Captain was up too with pleased smiles. Sighing Drudoc figured the scuttle butt around this was going to be ripe with rumors. She just hoped it wasn’t taken the wrong way.

Sharah could feel the energy coming off Tel’eck and grinned. “Come in.” she called unable to walk away from the last of the pancakes on the griddle. Fortunately or unfortunately an NE was waiting with them but did not enter. He was coming off the night shift and was one of hers. She flipped the pancake and sensing his need to speak to her she sighed and resigned that one to the trash as being burned. She smiled at Tel’eck and the captain. “Make yourselves at home.” She stepped over to the door. “Sorry Lt but that chemistry experiment kind of fizzled and puffed and evaporated.” Sharah nodded and took the PaDD. She looked it over several times. “Your math is wrong,” she said simply. She handed the PaDD back to the NE. “Where? I thought I did it right.” Sharah shook her head. “I’m not telling you. Check it again, later after you aren’t so tired. Then if you can’t find it we’ll talk about it.” The NE nodded. He liked that the Lt didn’t give them answers. He nodded to the Cpt politely. His voice dropped, “I’m glad you are making friends, Lt. You work way too much.” They’d worked in passing before her promotion and most of the department knew Sharah was a workaholic especially when trying to distract her over active mind. To the captain’s benefit he would make sure everyone knew that Lt. Fayth was having breakfast with the captain. No rumors would start then, they all knew about Sharah’s finance and had seen his picture on the desk in her office.

Upon entering the first noticeable thing in Sharah’s quarters was the living area directly in front. Her couch faced the windows with the back towards the doors. On the coffee table was a large Bonsai tree and a beautiful hand carved chess set. It was set in the middle of a game. Someone familiar with chess would see that the black pieces were winning, but not without a stout challenge from the white pieces. A large pot with red and yellow roses was in the far left corner near the last window. Her office space was to the left as well. Covered in PaDDs. The bookcase behind was filled with a large assortment of books from every genre imaginable, as well as medical and scientific reference books. There was a screen mounted with a large map of Betazed on it with various colored dots and lines on it. There are several pictures there. One is of Sharah, a little older than Tel’eck is now, and a young man, a few years older, her brother, in a security uniform. Sharah is in a hospital bed. Another is Sharah around 8 with her parents. The final picture is Sharah probably around 4 holding a kitten. A final picture, on her desk is of Sharah and a young man, sitting close together on the floor in what is obviously star fleet quarters, with a chess board in front of them. The eating area was to the right with a small cooking area and a table for four. Above the table is a hand drawn sketch of a man on a swinging bench on a pier facing a sunset. Beyond that was the bedroom.

The smell of bacon filled the area. She moved quickly back to the griddle just managing to save the pancake. She added it to a plate and then put the stack on the table. There was all sorts of chocolate breakfast dishes available. There was also an assortment of juices, coffee, milk, water, really anything they might want. “I remembered Tel’eck said she liked chocolate chip pancakes.” She looks at the table. “I might have over done it. But please have a seat. There is plenty.”

”..Given Tel’eck’s penchance for sweets I think you’re fine, Lieutenant.” Drudoc said taking a seat. “..So how have you found your new quarters so far? It seems you didn’t wait long to begin decorating.” Drudoc commented.

Getting a faint chuckle, Tel’eck chimed in taking her own seat after carefully observing the plants in the room. “..Took Mom almost a week or two to decorate ours when we first came aboard this Ark Angel.” She said.
