After the required pleasantries at the Airlock provided sufficient time for the Ark Angel to recognize his com-badge.
“Soval to sick bay, please schedule a boarding physical as soon as posable.

LC Soval

=/\= “Doctor Marshall to L.C. Soval, I can see you immediately in Sickbay One if you are available, unless, of course, you would prefer to get settled in first.” =/\=

Jr. Lt. Marshall, CMO

=^= Thank you Doctor, I will be there momentarily =^= long strides and a brief ride on a turbo lift carry the tall Vulcan to the sickbay where he presents himself to the nurse or Corpsman on duty. “I have an appointment with Doctor Marshal.” Looking around Soval approved of the busy efficiency he saw. One who didn’t know Vulcans might have deluded themselves that they has seen a smile.

Hayley stepped out of her office as Lt. Soval stepped into the Sickbay. She thought she noted approval in his expression as he looked around the room, but not being overly familiar with Vulcans, could not be sure. “Lt. Soval, welcome.” She smiled and gestured toward biobed 1. “Have a seat and we will get started. If you are anything like me, you probably like to get the preliminaries over with quickly.”

Jr. Lt. Marshall, CMO

Soval took a moment to asses the Doctor, then replied “Yes Doctor I would, would you also have time to brief me as to your department’s status? No sense in scheduling a second meet and greet with chief medical officer.

LC Soval

“Of course,” Hayley replied, “But let’s get this out of the way first.” She smiled and picked up a medical tricorder and probe. “It’s been relatively quiet here today so I took some time to review your medical file earlier. Is there anything not there I should know about?”

Jr. Lt. Marshall, CMO

“No Doctor, it is compleat.” Soval’s medical records went back decades. Illnesses and injuries consistent with his service. Of note was his medical retirement do to Nero/ emotional issues due to partial synaptic parcing, and his subsequent treatment on Vulcan fallowed buy his reinstatement. Otherwise he would appear to be a healthy Vulcan male of his late middle years.

Hayley watched the tricorder readings as she scanned the LC. “You appear to be in excellent health L.C. Soval.” She set aside her tricorder and probe. “Shall I brief you on the department here? Or would you prefer to step into my office? I am not really one for formality myself so whichever you prefer is fine.”

Jr. Lt. Marshall, CMO

“I am comfortable either way, Doctor Marshall. It is your department after all.” It would in-fact a pleasant change to debrief a department head in the department they led instead of one of their respective offices.

LC Soval

“Very well than,” Hayley replied, “It won’t really be too long of a report as I’m somewhat new to the posting and still getting my bearings.” She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts. “I find I have stepped into the running of a highly efficient and well run medical department. The staff work excellently together and I can’t fault the quality of their work in any way. My only operational complaint would be the lack of Jr. Staff. Dr. Xi’Indra’s move to the counseling department has left us somewhat short staffed. Any credit for the high quality of this department should really go to Dr. Suder however. It was his department until very recently and I have really only continued in his footsteps. His recent demotion and my subsequent promotion has been somewhat unsettling for the department as a whole. He is very highly regarded.”

Jr. Lt. Marshall, CMO

“I will look into the availability of a replacement for Doctor Xi’indra. As to Doctor Suder, I have confidence in your ability to handle that situation, if however you find that it requires my assistance to resolve any lingering issues rest assured I will provide any that you may require.” Soval may be unaware of the circumstances that led to Doctor Suder’s demotion but he truly felt confident in Doctor Marshal.

LC Soval.

“Thank you L.C.” Hayley replied. “Was there anything else you wanted to discuss at this time?”

Jr.Lt. Marshall CMO

“No Doctor, I seem to have work to do and I should let you get back to yours. If their is anything else I can do for you Doctor, please come to me.”

LC Soval

“I will do that L.C., Thank you again,” Hayley replied with a respectful nod. As the L.C. made his way back out of sickbay she stepped into her office to finish looking over the newest shift reports.
