Tabris ruffled his uniform a little, the normally form fitting piece of clothing was a little loose today, Tabris liked to think it was because he’d lost weight but in reality he had grabbed a uniform a few centimeters too large in most directions. He had made his appointment and figured he’d change afterwards on his way to meet the Chief Engineer. He adjusted his glasses, a medical antiquity that looked far out of place but Tabris not only needed them, but was rather attached to them. He strode up confidently, having had physicals since he was a boy he could share stories of medical antiquity that would intrigue and probably horrify the doctors at the same time. With his PADD under his arm he entered sickbay and waited at a medical bed patiently.

Hayley was looking down at a research station when the Ensign walked in. She looked up and did a bit of a double take when she noted the glasses he was wearing. It certainly wasn’t something you saw everyday. There was a hint of a smile in her eyes as she spoke though her expression was otherwise fully professional. “Ensign Asam I presume?”

Jr.Lt. Marshall CMO

Tabris let a wide smile start to show on his face when he heard his name, “Dr. Marshall? It’s good to meet you” He said, handing over the bulky antique 2265 PADD showing his medical record and the list of scars the man received from various embarrassing incidents. He wondered if she would try to convince him to get his eyes fixed, but it was always a gamble with doctors these days. He hopped up on the bio bed and waited patiently for his orders while the doctor looked over his records.

Hayley smiled as she reviewed his records on the old PADD. Her mentor back on earth had loved his antiques as well. She declined commenting on the glasses as she figured anyone wearing them these days was doing so by choice. “How are you liking the Angel so far? Her size was quite a shock to me when I first came on board.” Hayley lifted her medical tricorder and probe. “May I?” She asked, indicating that she would like to start scanning but would not do so without consent.

Tabris bounced like a little kid, anxious for some reason even though after over 400 years and the confidence he displayed approaching, there was always a little bit of worry that something wrong would be found. “I must say she’s gigantic. That being said this is my first posting from the academy as a member of Starfleet, but over my life I’ve been on many, many ships from sublight freighters to these modern marvels. I remember thinking an aeroplane was large when I was a boy!” Tabris said with a smile, as he saw the doctor was waiting while he gabbed on, “Oh I’m sorry, of course! Please!”

Hayley began her scan, noting nothing that wasn’t already present in his existing record. “Everything looks good here,” she replied with another smile, “I can imagine you have quite the store of knowledge. My mentor back on earth would have loved to sit down and chat with you. He is quite the history buff.”

Well the good doctor had reported that he was in good health and Tabris gave a great sigh of relief. “I’m so glad to hear that!” Tabris said as he hopped off the bio bed followed by him grabbing his antique PADD. He leaned against it casually as he said, “Well you learn a lot when you live as long as I do, I’m also fairly long winded. I can tell stories for hours!” Tabris said as he smiled warmly, “Did you know that back on ancient earth, they used to use needles that had to pierce the skin in order to administer medication?”
