Trax was confused by all the rejections. it was is a suggestion or idea was all. Trax moved off a bit and let the others to continue to access the problem if he could remember anything he would add more to the ideas. But felt off he started to the feeling of being watched again. as he shook the thought away as he looked over the chameleon flowers that fayth dealt with earlier in the week. they were looking amazing and he was glad they were doing better. As he healed one of the roses in his hand but not picking it the bush started to change colors it was like a Christmas tree with all the bud flashing and changing colors. as the one, he touched shower a beautiful sky blue colors as the other parts of the bush showed different and vibrant colors as he calmly smelled the bud as he released the bush the colors started changing randomly as the bush slowly changed back and forth. He sighed hard as he turned back toward the others as he made his way to the small table with food on it. and he gathered a small sampling of all that was there. And moved off to eat in peace and was still close enough to answer anything that might be asked of him.

Ensign Trax Suder - Jo Doctor

Trax’s confusion hit Sharah hard. She wasn’t rejecting his suggestion, she was scared. She didn’t know how to make it better, and she didn’t know what was safe to try and what was not. He would hear her voice telepathically, open for anyone who could hear to hear, ‘I am not saying no, Doctor.’ said in respect to his knowledge and expertise and not as a way to be formal. ‘I just…I don’t want to hurt anyone, and such an approach is a very intimate solution and’ she wasn’t sure how to express that such contact after all the bombardment she received every day was painful and the idea too intimate to her.

Turning to the others, “Dr. Trax has a sound idea, I just don’t know if it’s safe. The risk to me…” she shrugs. “But the risk to whomever wants to try is…not one I am comfortable. I’m sure it sounds like I don’t want an answer, which isn’t true. It seems such a simple answer, but after all these years I’ve found it is not.” She hadn’t meant to hurt Trax’s feelings and she was bereft with guilt for it.
Lt jg Fayth, CSO

Looking from one Doctor to the other Soval considered the emotional complexity of his crew mates a moment. “Is it a danger for you or another if you initiate the contact? If a willing subject was to open their mind to you?” Despite his curiosity, he reminded himself that this was a person not a subject. “Doctor Suder, I do need your knowledge and advice, if you would please return to the conversation.”
Soval

He looked a Fayth for a moment thought to her. ~I understand your concerns and reservations.~ trax commented to her as he was momentarily disturbed by something again before hearing Soval. “As far as I can tell or know there would be difficulties with the mind merger as long as both people are completely open there won’t be much pain if one of their minds were closed to the idea. Its the fact that they both would have to get used to double the impressions to thoughts could overwhelm them. before they could do more until they got used to the added information. The one supplying the bridge like a Vulcan or another telepathic person would notice the transaction of thought between one another but nothing more than that as the Vulcan goes. As a said a bridge they have a sturdier mindscape for such a bridge to attain total connection.” Trax added calmly as he looked about a bit as he attempted to focus on the others again ad he took a bit to eat.

Fayth could easily pick up the uneasiness, though without being invasive she wouldn’t know why. ~What is it?~

She looked at Soval. “Inherently no, it would be no risk. Or no more so than any other telepathic contact. However, whether or not the other telepath is strong enough to withstand to contact, is an individual matter. The other telepath, with that amount of contact would experience what it is like to be me. And I can tell you the Monk on Vulcan did not fair well. The doctors on Betazed did not fair well. Others did not try.” She picks up the PaDD she’d brought with her and in a moment and extreme large data file appears on the PaDDS of the other officers present. “You all seem to think you can fix me. There is no fix. I am the way I am. I appreciate your concern Lt Cmdr. Vulcan minds, due to your training, are painful for me. Always have been. Perhaps that is due to my negative experiences on Vulcan and is now an instinctual reaction, or maybe it’s simply a problem with differing thought patterns. I am extremely powerful as a telepath but with great gifts there are consequences. Pain is mine.” She points to the PaDD, “I have been researching since I as 11 years old for a cure. I have studied our history on Betazed. Doctors and scientists have studied this phenomenon for centuries. We are no closer to a cure.”
Lt jg Fayth, CSO
“ No Doctor I do not believe I can cure you. In sight of past history that would be illogical. I however wish to understand. What I have learned so far leads me to the opinion that the best way to proceed in finding a way to mediate your discomfort and thus improve your efficiency is to give you command of that project. This in no way means I am dissatisfied with your performance, it may well be my personal failing that I am concerned for your comfort.” Looking at the Chief scientist.”I do apologize for my People’s arrogance, children are a valuable commodity and deserve proper care and respect. If their is any prof you require of my sincerity, I will attempt to provide it.”

Soval

” I never said it was a cure but a way to help you from inside the mind to help build walls. give you a better understanding on how to do so may be I would never give anyone false hope or claim a cure.” As Trax looked to Soval and the others quickly. Trax was now feeling watched again and it was strong enough to make him feel apprehensive and a bit frightened. “I am sorry I can’t stay. I need to go now.” As Trax placed his tray on the table and moved towards the entryway again as calmly as he could. Trax left his padd to finish recording the conversation as the others continued the meeting. He would retrieve it later. maybe someone would bring it to him later.

Trax’s exit seemed to deflate her. She’d offended him and she hadn’t meant to. But at the moment her head hurt too much to do anything more than a ~I’m sorry Trax.~
He’d left his PaDD. She picked it up, she’d take it back to him later and apologize when she was feeling better. Sharah turned her attention back to Soval. “It’s not a failing of your people. I know that, now that I’m an adult. But it’s a cultural difference. For Betazoids emotion, our telepathic empathy is tightly connected to our abilities. We can’t suppress it and lock it away. We can’t put it aside. That’s why empathic abilities always show up in children that are only 1/2 or less Betazoid, it’s a strong genetic trait. The Monks had a hard time realizing it. They thought I was being disrespectful and lazy. That I was simply refusing to do as they said.” It had been a long time since Sharah had talked about her time on Vulcan. It was strange though because she could actually feel Soval’s concern, and it was an emotional response and was strange coming from a Vulcan. Well not so strange. She could always feel it from Vulcans in their subconscious where they weren’t aware of it. She sighs. “It is a life long project Lt Cmdr. And one I doubt will ever be completed. There is really only one way to really explain it to you, through a telepathic link and as I’ve said, it’s not a pleasant experience for anyone.”
Lt jg Fayth, CSO

“ I assure you it wouldn’t be the first unpleasant experience I have had and likely not to be my last, Doctor. I would be willing if it made the Vulcan mind less unpleasant or at a minimum mine. Either way I would offer my assistance in that project, Doctor. No matter how little we may accomplish.”
Soval
