Wielding a lump hammer against the brush tool, Soval was finalizing the lines of the meditative totem he was carving. The last of the set for his quarters. The stylized carving of a Vulcan woman had slowly materialized from deep in the yellow veined reddish sandstone as he worked.

The statues were intended to act as calming foci in a Vulcan home, he had learned to carve them during his convalescent on Vulcan. He found the act of carving the stone, wood, crystal and iron they were made of meditative in their own right.

Sharah had been wandering the ship trying to find things to distract herself from the noise. Trying to find a quieter spot where maybe, with the size of Angel, she might get some distance to help, but that didn’t really work for her. There was never anywhere actually away from people. She sighed. She was hoping to find a quiet spot where she could work on Dinui’s suggestion of finding a memory, a feeling to focus on. The problem she was having was she could find one, she just couldn’t get the other noise out of her head long enough to get a good strong hold of it. It was in this wandering that she felt an extreme sense of peace coming from someone. Not really thinking about it she followed the feeling while in her musing. She found herself outside a door but not sure who it belonged to.

Soval was well practiced in keeping his own telepathic talents shielded, being even more adverse to touching others than others in Vulcan society, but will in the quietly focused state he was in another mind in such proximity was impossible to ignore.
Inwardly pleases that a member of the crew would seek him out at this hour he spoke “Open”
The door slid open revealing a room painted in the sandy texture and reddish earth tones of a Vulcan county home, the candle light played and delicate incense adding to the feeling of tranquility. “Please, he welcome”

Sharah had not intended to knock. She hadn’t known when she first arrived who was there because she’d been wandering and ignoring everything but the feeling of the ship. The information was received in her mind but not processed. The door opened and the décor would have told her whose quarters she’d wandered to even without recognizing the mind behind the door. She would have walked away but she ‘heard’ before he spoke the order for the door to open, but more so his pleasure that a member of the crew would seek him out. And Sharah was incapable of creating disappointment or sadness in anyone on purpose. She stepped through the door at his greeting and braced herself because she had no idea what was going to happen with this meeting with the XO. He was right though, they had to figure, NO she had to figure something out. She was a department head now and they worked together, a lot. “Thank you, Sir.”

Placing his tools down, “May I offer you refreshment, Sharah?” Soval didn’t bother shielding his mind, surmising that it would be more polite to allow her access to both his surface thoughts as well as subconscious emotions. His mind was quiet, emotions flowing threw it in a muted fashion, his logical mind examining them, excepting them and then moving on in a polite Vulcan fashion. He was curious, but willing to except the fact she was there without comment. He excepted the moment for what it was, needing not to change it, but willing to except its inevitable change.
