Thankfully when the orders came in for the other science labs to report in if they were experiencing holiday pranking they could solidly say they were not! Everything seemed on the up and up and no oddities could be reported back to Fayth.

Riley reviewed the data from the overnight sensor scans, nodding and spinning a stylus in his right hand. He flipped it, furrowed his brow and circled a piece of data, jotted a few notes, and saved the file, marking some areas for future scans. He handed the PADD back to the NE and yawned.

“Long night?” the ensign asked him.

Riley shrugged. “Just not a morning person, really,” he replied, stifling another yawn as he sat at one of the many consoles in Astrometrics 1. But yeah, too many long nights, he chided himself.

Suddenly his combadge chimed.

=^=Lt Fayth to En Riley. I’m needed up in sickbay. I need you to check all the labs on the ship to make sure everything is working right. Make sure their security measures and data have been recording properly for the last 24 hours.=^=

Riley looked at the NE, then stood and looked around the room, spinning in place before tapping his badge.

=^= Riley here. Uh, everything looks good in Astrometrics 1. I’ll uh, =^= he looked at the NE, who shrugged. =^= I’ll run system diagnostics on the lab equipment from here and report back. =^= He slapped the badge again.

Working right?” he wondered aloud. “That’s as vague as you can get.” He shrugged and pulled up the admin access he had to the labs on his console.

=^= Computer, run diagnostics on all science lab equipment, authorization Riley-Alpha-One-Zero-Niner. Display security and sensor logs here for all labs, as well. =^=

He knew the diagnostic would take a few minutes, at least, so he started sorting the logs, sighing at the amount of data there was to sift through. Eventually, he finished, and checked the diagnostics before tapping his badge again.

=^= Riley to Lieutenant Fayth. All lab systems check out, all security functions are and have been working as expected, and all data has been recorded as expected. =^= He paused a couple of heartbeats before asking the next question. =^= Is something going on I should be aware of? =^=

=^=Someone has been dropping off holiday…surprises. In very surprising and unique places. Tell everyone to keep an eye on their experiments. I’ll let you know when we know more. I’m on the bridge if you need me. Fayth Out.=^=
Lt jg Fayth, CSO

Riley held his hands up in a half-shrug, causing the NE to laugh. The boss was usually good about keeping him in the loop, so the lack of information probably meant that she, too, was in the dark, and probably even more frustrated than he was about it. He sighed and hit the intercom button, highlighting all the science labs. He had to enter an override to hit that many areas at once.

=^= Attention all science personnel. Please be alert for unusual activity that may impact systems and or experiments. As of this moment all experiments will require… =^= he double checked some reporting requirements. =^= … at least level 2 logging. Please report anything out of the ordinary to your team lead. =^=

He tapped his badge again, ending the com, and then drafted a brief explanation of Lieutenant Fayth’s orders to send to the various team leads. He drummed on the table top with his forefingers before standing again. =^= Computer, put the internal sensor logs on the main holo-display. =^= He approached as the display lit with readings from the various internal sensors - temperature, radiation, particle, EPS levels, and a host of others, which he slowly paged through, looking for details out of the norm.
