Meanwhile the older boys were watching as Tel’eck wheeled around EXR-11 and Neltus leaned over to Vedi and said, “She’s pretty....” Vedi looked at Neltus and punched him in the arm. “She’s like a teenager we don’t… I mean… you don’t stand a chance!” Neltus blushed and then it hit him what his brother had said “You think she’s pretty too huh…” Vedi just blushed and said, “Dude knock it off…” Neltus took a deep breath and swallowed hard as he said, “I’m going to go talk to her…” Vedi scampered from his desk and said, “Me too!” They approached and Neltus said, “That’s a cool robot, Vedi and I here built one too…” Vedi chimed in and said, “Yeah it wasn’t remote controlled either!”

Sarah nodded some but Tel’eck at least turned to give her attention to the younger boys. “..I am sure it was or is a wonderful robot then. EXR-11 though was designed for younger folks to also use him for fun, hence the controls. It also saved us on space and programming an adaptive interface and matrix.” She replied.

She sent Julin and Mecona over to the other kids and smiled at NT Billy. Sharah caught Neltus and Vedi’s gaze and just looked at them....she knew. She looked back at Billy. “If you need anything let us know. Comms and power should be back soon.”

Lt jg Fayth, CSO

Vedi looked over towards his siblings and saw Sharah and say the look and nudged Neltus’s shoulder and pointed towards her. “I think she knows” Neltus turned and saw the look too. “Uh… Hi Aunty Sharah!” He said as he nudged Vedi hard back and whispered, “How would she know? She’s just looking over here is all” Vedi stayed behind to try to make conversation as Neltus stood by and leaned on a bookcase, thinking he looked cool with a smile, “How’s your day going so far?” He asked honestly. Even if he was trying to be interesting to the older girls he was still a sweet kid at heart.

Sharah grinned and waved back. They didn’t come over to her so she wouldn’t embarrass them by making a scene. There was a time for that and this was not it.

Tel’eck smiled to Fayth giving a friendly wave. Sarah meanwhile was moving EXR-11’s arms up and down in a dance parody to entertain the youngest children. Which had the kids giggling and forgetting about the recent events it seems.

Returning a text reply =/\= Thank you Lieutenant. I’ll be alerting the rest of the crew of our situation and status once I have a full report to give =/\= She replied.

Getting an confirmation Fayth nodded and turned back to NT Billy. “The captain will be sending out an update as soon as we have all relevant information. I have to get going to check on other systems.” She waved bye and slipped out the door and back down the corridor. She needed to get down to the hull breach and see if Genard needed any help, though she doubted it. On the way she’d check on the sensor systems as well.

About an hour after Fayth left, a ship wide comm call came in from the bridge by the ship’s Captain. =/\= Attention all hands, this is Captain Andone speaking. As many of you are aware by now we had a rough ride and situations arise recently which were the result of a visiting Q entity. The recent oddities of holiday ‘cheer’ and ‘pranks’ were the result of this entity. I trust that within a few hours we all will have recovered fully from those events. If there are any problems to report do so to your section chief, department chief or the bridge as needed.. =/\= She began. She figured breaking things down into chunks for settling folks minds would be best to start.

After a pause Drudoc continued. =/\= As you all are equally aware our ship was tossed dangerously about by this same Q entity. I can assure you all now that the damages despite at first seeming dire are far from that. Already secondary and primary systems are returning to online status and damages bypassed and relayed around. The minor hull breach on deck 44 was the worst of on our damage control lists and that has been secured and contained. What injuries we all sustained though minor, I can confirm we have had no more the serious injuries among the crew. For those of you with children and families you can all rest assured that we all have shared your tumbles and bruises, again we have weathered this transport by the Q well, for which I applaud you all..=/\= Drudoc continued.

After another second or so pause she continued. =/\= Now you all may be wondering why the Q have taken an interest in us. From our brief interaction with them on the bridge here it would seem the Continuum at large is in a heated debate to wonder how we among this fine ship and crew. Would react to various ‘extremes’. To this end we can only surmise that in some form the Q are watching us even now. Debating as they wish to see what we will do next. To this point brings me to the more difficult news for us all. That being where we now are. After confirmation with the astrological science departments it is my duty to confirm to everyone that we are currently quite far from known space. We are currently projected to be deep within what would be considered the Alpha quadrant of the GN-z11 galaxy..=/\= Drudoc said. Pacing a bit now to look at the crew about the bridge one by one, giving a look and presence of someone sharing the troubles and feelings they all no doubt were going through right now.

=/\= I know what many of you are feeling right now, digesting just how far that is. The idea of insurmountable hurdles we face before us now. I tell you now that I share your feelings, your thoughts of home, your family, friends, and loved ones. This is an extreme none of us could possibly have contemplated in our life times. But....=/\= Drudoc paused by Fayth letting a hand lightly rest on her shoulder a moment to center and ground her in the this time. =/\= but know that all of us, from myself, down to every civilian on this ship’s skills will be tapped and used to our fullest potential in the times ahead. Whether our way home lies with solving this ‘debate’ the Continuum has placed before us, or we figure out our own means. No matter what comes next I know all of you will face these challenges ahead with the highest strength, courage, valor, and service I have come to expect from all of you..=/\= She went on.

Turning to round the railing at the aft end of the bridge she continued her speech. =/\= Know that already our science department has detected we are not alone in this region of space we find ourselves! There will be people, cultures, and more that we will meet and expand our knowledge too in the coming days no doubt. Yes, some could be trouble for us, but equally so we can find friends, or technology to help our situation. Regardless though, we have each other, and there is no finer ship and crew I would rather face this situation with then that which I am with now. The end of this trial may not be in sight yet, but it will be resolved and when it is know that we will face it together. I want all department and section heads to file status reports 3 hours from now by 1200 hours today. The Continuum has presented us this test of our character and will everyone, and I mean to show we will not break under the pressures now given to us. Now everyone take a breath, and let’s get to work getting this ship and her fine crew back home! Andone out! =/\= She stated.

Nearby Tel’eck seemed to struggle to take in all that her Mother had said. The adults in the room equally seemed at a loss as the news sunk in. But as the messaged ended, Tel’eck knew in her heart her Mother spoke true, they weren’t alone. They were together in this, the ship was top rated, and the crew the best. Tel’eck couldn’t go a day without her Mother praising a report on some NE or another doing something. It made her smile, and it was that smile which broke Sarah from her somber sad thoughts to look to her friend. “..What’s got you smiling so much Tel’eck? Aren’t you uh scared?” the fellow teenager asked while glancing over to where the youngest children in who were confused by the news were being distracted or the like by the adult teachers who seemed just as in need of a purpose right now then anything to do something.

Tel’eck nodded, “..Of course I’m scared! But my Dad used to tell me that if you let fear rule you all you wind up doing is being ruled by it. But my Mom…uh Captain Andone, I mean you watch, she’ll show those stupid Q who are watching us what’s what! We’ll get home you’ll see! May not be today or tomorrow, but we’ll get home. Now come on, I’m sure we can do something fun to distract ourselves till our folks come off duty later today. How about we look at those plans you made up for EXR-11 getting those light orbs?” She said.

Wiping her eyes, and smiling a bit herself Sarah nodded, “..Sure. If we decide to do it we’ll need help though!” She replied.

Tel’eck grinned, “..Well no shortage of help there, come on lets go over the plans first then get NTeacher Ryans to ok our work..” She said. Looking then to Trabri’s kids she added, “..You guys want to help us?”

Mecona had ran after Julin who wanted to play with the big robot while the two older boys did their best to hide their crushes. Mecona finally caught up with her little brother and the two were playing a little game of make believe with some of the other kids when the announcement came over the system and the room went silent. She looked at Julin and said, “Hear that? Daddy is safe.” She looked content as Julin repeatred, “Daddy Abis safe, daddy Abis safe.” He stood up and looked for his older brothers and toddled his way over with Mecona following close behind.

The older boys were far less at ease, Vedi moved over to his little siblings and held them close while Neltus was running through everything that was said. He walked over to his siblings and said, “Well at least all of our family is on the ship right?” He was trying not to get too worked up but it wasn’t working as best as he imagined, the feelings of everyone’s worry and fear giving him a headache and making the boy dizzy. He held a hand to his head as Vedi said, “What’s wrong Neltus?” Neltus looked at Vedi, the room spinnig as Julin tugged on his older brother’s shirt, “Bedi? Is Neltus ok?” Neltus said, “I’m fine I’m fine… it’s just… everyone is worried and I can feel it, like all of it…”

Hearing the two girls asking for their help was a breath of fresh air, Vedi nodded and tugged Neltus over and said, “Sure, what can we do to help?”
