It was an hour or two after the mission briefing earlier in the day since Q had stranded them in this galaxy. Drudoc had decided to check in on various staff and sections of the ship where she could. Her latest endeavor was bringing her to the CSO’s quarters where she had heard a bit of a personal project was at work overhauling the quarters in a dramatic personal way. Her interest piqued Drudoc had come to see how things were proceeding. Straightening her uniform she pressed the chime to the CSO’s quarters.

Fayth had left the briefing and returned to the labs to give a brief update, and then grab a few people, and had spent the last two hours in the shuttle bay. It had been a long … actually she wasn’t sure how long it had been. She felt like she’d been going for a couple days, but that wasn’t true. She’d adjusted the schedules slightly so the crew that was on could get off early…almost a modified 4 shift schedule for the next couple of days. Every shift would be working hard and non stop and the extra hour of down time would be good for them. Sharah was now in her quarters going over reports and contemplating food, but was distracted by the reports she was going over. Hearing the chime, “Come in.” She turned towards the door. “Captain.” She stood up a little straighter. “Come in. What can I do for you?”

”..I heard about your redesign of your quarters, and was curious how it was proceeding. May I come in to see it if that is ok?” Drudoc asked.

Sharah smiled, “Oh of course!”

The redesign of her quarters had been finished for a few weeks now. Ebony wood flooring and cherry wood accents, matching the wood she’d used to design Joseph’s chess set. Oak and white pine on the walls and ceiling. The colors and furniture was similar, but not exact, to the cabin on the gulf. The layout of course was slightly different, but when she returned every day it reminded her of what she was working towards. The life she wanted. This, the cabin, was where she loved being alive. The living area was directly in front of the door with the kitchen behind it and to the left. The work area, just a desk and chair, with the built in shelves, but smaller, to the right against the wall before leading to the bedroom. Her sketch of Joseph on the pier was hanging on the wall near the ‘kitchen’ and in her bedroom was the one of the light house. Her photos were next to her books. And on the coffee table next to her bonsai was her chess set, in the middle of a game.

Once invited in Drudoc took in the area, homey was certainly appropriate for it. Very rustic too, a VERY brief sense of sadness passed Drudoc’s features and mind when it reminded her powerfully the primitive life style of Bradley’s home on his colony. She cooled herself though at the memory of the last time she had been there. She focused on the here and now. “..It is quite a lovely rebuild of the quarters. Very rustic and homey.” She said feeling the wall paneling. “..I assume you kept everything within spec for safety and structural regulations right?” She asked half seriously and half jokingly.

“Please make yourself comfortable.” Sharah looked around smiling, “It’s based off of a cabin I stayed at while I was on Earth.” Sharah had spent just enough time with the Captain to know she was both serious and joking. “I am going to venture on the side of, yes. En Asam did all the work and took more measurements than I can count. He logged all the information in the computer. The wood is actually on top of the original bulk heads, nothing of the original structure of the ship was changed, as far as I know. En Asam, is El-Aurian, and apparently was an interior designer several hundred years ago. I think he had more fun than I did.” She walked over to the replicator, “Would you like something to drink?”
