Side Sim - Checking On The Staff - CSO's Quarters

”..I heard about your redesign of your quarters, and was curious how it was proceeding. May I come in to see it if that is ok?” Drudoc asked.

Sharah smiled, “Oh of course!”

The redesign of her quarters had been finished for a few weeks now. Ebony wood flooring and cherry wood accents, matching the wood she’d used to design Joseph’s chess set. Oak and white pine on the walls and ceiling. The colors and furniture was similar, but not exact, to the cabin on the gulf. The layout of course was slightly different, but when she returned every day it reminded her of what she was working towards. The life she wanted. This, the cabin, was where she loved being alive. The living area was directly in front of the door with the kitchen behind it and to the left. The work area, just a desk and chair, with the built in shelves, but smaller, to the right against the wall before leading to the bedroom. Her sketch of Joseph on the pier was hanging on the wall near the ‘kitchen’ and in her bedroom was the one of the light house. Her photos were next to her books. And on the coffee table next to her bonsai was her chess set, in the middle of a game.

Once invited in Drudoc took in the area, homey was certainly appropriate for it. Very rustic too, a VERY brief sense of sadness passed Drudoc’s features and mind when it reminded her powerfully the primitive life style of Bradley’s home on his colony. She cooled herself though at the memory of the last time she had been there. She focused on the here and now. “..It is quite a lovely rebuild of the quarters. Very rustic and homey.” She said feeling the wall paneling. “..I assume you kept everything within spec for safety and structural regulations right?” She asked half seriously and half jokingly.

“Please make yourself comfortable.” Sharah looked around smiling, “It’s based off of a cabin I stayed at while I was on Earth.” Sharah had spent just enough time with the Captain to know she was both serious and joking. “I am going to venture on the side of, yes. En Asam did all the work and took more measurements than I can count. He logged all the information in the computer. The wood is actually on top of the original bulkheads, nothing of the original structure of the ship was changed, as far as I know. En Asam, is El-Aurian, and apparently was an interior designer several hundred years ago. I think he had more fun than I did.” She walked over to the replicator, “Would you like something to drink?”

Trailing her fingers over the edges of the wood paneling Drudoc had to admit she was impressed by Asam’s work to which she said so. “..Ensign Asam did excellent work, very seamless and up standing in its effect.” She said. “..I will have to confirm with his logs that nothing structurally got changed that could compromise the quarter’s safety. But beyond that I again will say how impressed I am, truly his work as an interior designer was well earned.” She remarked.

At the question for a drink, Drudoc nodded some, “..An Albertian Root Tea, please. Chilled.” she requested.

Once the strong sweet scented tea was produced Drudoc took a seat on one of the chairs. Again for a moment she was struck by uncertainty how to proceed with checking in on their current situation. It was a strangeness she considered how she tried to balance her professionalism and being approachable to her staff and crew mates. Sipping the tea a moment she let its strong natural sweetness wash over her palette. “..It is a strange time and place we find ourselves in would you not say? Thrown further then any known race or ship before, to a place none could imagine we’d set foot in for ages to come if at all..” She remarked then.
