[snip]It was an hour or two after the mission briefing earlier in the day since Q had stranded them in this galaxy. Drudoc had decided to check in on various staff and sections of the ship where she could. Her latest endeavor was bringing her to the vast science department labs of the Ark Angel. She had heard from the briefing how they were studying the Boridium asteroid and her old engineering and scientific habits were drawing her interest to see it for herself. Straightening her uniform she entered the labs quietly to see how things were proceeding.

Over in the geology lab, Genard and Weir seemed to be rather animated looking at the several screens. A large purplish rock taking up most of the center of the room. Neither saw the CO enter as they were working on their task.

As the Captain entered, Drudoc looked around, noticing where the central area of interest lay. She came in quietly, but NE Buster noticed her first. “..Ah Captain! Um…good afternoon to you!” He said announcing her presence to the rest of the staff.
”..At ease everyone, I’m just making some rounds to the various departments and crew stations, getting a feel for how things are going. I see you’re adamantly working on our little guest rock there. How’s it going?” She asked.

Off to the side a clatter of footsteps sounded as Riley descended the steps from the walkway around the chief science officer’s office, which connected to the various lab spaces on this and the above deck.
“Captain,” he greeted, then nodded to Claude and Caelian. “Ensign Genard, Ensign Weir.” He lifted the PADD in his hand. “NE Chee has improved the translation algorithm on that broadcast we picked up. I thought you’d like to see it right away.”
He glanced around the lab. “If there’s a holodisplay I can put it up there for us.”
