Off to the side a clatter of footsteps sounded as Riley descended the steps from the walkway around the chief science officer’s office, which connected to the various lab spaces on this and the above deck.
“Captain,” he greeted, then nodded to Claude and Caelian. “Ensign Genard, Ensign Weir.” He lifted the PADD in his hand. “NE Chee has improved the translation algorithm on that broadcast we picked up. I thought you’d like to see it right away.”
He glanced around the lab. “If there’s a holodisplay I can put it up there for us.”

”..Indeed Ensign? This is great news! Put it up.” Drudoc said interested.

Riley nodded, then tapped the display on his PADD, bringing up a map of the lab they were now in. He located a holodisplay and tapped it, then sent the video and translation data to it.
“Here we go,” he said, and then activated the video. The display lit up, the image of the broadcast appearing in full clarity, and the humanoid figure began to speak.

The information took a moment to fully process but eventually it came up. The first part of the communication came up the words outlined were as expected some kind of salesperson. Selling something whose word did not yet translate due to lack of reference. But from the visual appeared to be a rock perhaps the local word for Boridium. Clearly it was some kind of commercial. The next part of the comm then came up and as theorized earlier it was a news brief/debate. The two aliens were heatedly arguing over the actions of someone named The Acolyte. About how he had fed the masses with what he claimed divine intervention by a thought and gesture. Some thought this man a fool, others a divine agent who would wipe away the scarcity of resources in this region of the galaxy.
