While she sat down didnt even get anything, the ensign decided to just sit there and sits. She doesn’t do much cause she hasnt been sleeping well. She sat there and started to think about things cause she is worried something like that is gonna come back and haunt her again. She just doesnt know what to do.

Ensign Logan

As it turns out, living things need food. Which was, of course, obvious but sometimes the brain forgets that little quirk of basic biology. Once the brain recognized the body’s hunger signals, V’alura pulled herself away from work and away from her office. Thus, V’alura forwent eating a sad meal alone in her office, to make the trek to a more public venue. There, she ordered a hearty fruit and vegetable salad with a side of cottage cheese. That’s when she spotted Ensign Logan by herself. Poor thing, V’alura thought, she looks miserable.

V’alura made her decision and settled into the seat across from Ashley, “Hey, there.” She greeted with a warm smile, “I hope you don’t mind if I join you. It looked like you could use some company.”

Lt. Jgr. Belmont

“No no of course not please sit.” She said to the Lt.” She then smiled.

Ensign Logan

“Thanks,” V’alura took a few bites of food before starting up some friendly chatter, “How have you been doing? Feels like everyone’s been rushing around since, well, our unplanned trip across the galaxy.” So sudden a trip and so sudden their return.

Lt. Jgr. Belmont

Well Lt. I’ve been doing alright. It does feel like everyone’s been rushing. But we do our job right even we do it, it can come with a big sudden change.” She said.

Ensign Logan

“Too true,” Said V’alura. There was always something out there, new discoveries, both good and bad. “It’s a good thing there are so many of us together on the ship.” She added, “Facing the unknown is a lot easier with companions.” The Ark Angel had a lovely crew and V’alura was proud of the all the scientists under her.

Lt. Jgr. Belmont

“Heh. Yeah. I agree. Only if I had someone to you know love me. But I do get what you mean. It is always nice to have someone or something there. I mean with the fact that we are facing the unknown could be hard. But if we were to be together and doing it together helps.” She also added on. “I know it’s a weird question or something I don’t know. But if anyone were to ask you out like me for example how’d you react. I mean I’m not asking you out if that is what you are thinking which I’m not. But if I am then I am.” She said to the Lt.

Ensign Logan

Ah, love. That sure took her back on a trip down memory lane. She wondered how Dave was doing after all these years, she should send him a message and find out. Then, V’alura nearly choked on her cherry tomato when Ashley sorta but not really asked her out. The surprised passed, and V’alura swallowed that errant vegetable with no further difficulties. “Oh jeez, that sure is a question!” V’alura chuckled, “Sorry, I just wasn’t expecting it is all. Um. . . Hmm. . . let me think about it.”

Goodness, when even was the last time she was asked out on a date? Not since her final year at the Academy. V’alura went on many dates throughout her life, but only a few romantic relationships. There was her high school girlfriend. Charease was lovely, but they decided to end their relationship when they graduated. They were going to different schools on opposite sides of Earth, and they were young, they wanted to experience more things, meet new people. Then she met Dave at Julliard. They separated a few years after graduation to focus on their careers.

“I suppose I’d say it’s worth a shot.” V’alura said, “I think I’m at a point in my life where I could try to find someone for a serious relationship. And if the person asking me out doesn’t want a serious relationship yet then I’d still be fine with a casual one. Though, I would think that you’re just a bit too young for me,” She added with a smile. “Nothing against being young, but I’m almost fifty and I’d like to date someone a little closer to me in age.”

Lt. Jgr. Belmont

“Oh Lt. You have a way with things in a good way. I mean I maybe younger then you but I mean I do want a serious relationship. That is if you want too.” As she smiled at the Lt. But thinking that they are so many years apart in age who knows if it’ll work or not. “Also I might want to add that I apologize for surprising you with it.

Ensign Logan

“You’re going to make me blush,” V’alura laughed. “It’s not so much that young people don’t want serious relationships, it’s more. . . a matter of life experience. Does that make sense? We’re always changing and who we are and how we see the universe around us changes and adapts as we age and experience more. Though if you keep talking like that I’ll start to think that you really are asking me out.” She added, keeping her tone light and teasing.

Lt. Jgr. Belmont

“Oh Lt. No matter what I’ve been keeping my eye on you for a while. Ever since I started to be stationed here. And believe me. You’ve been someone I’ve been wanting to be with.” The ensign said. Ensign Logan wants a actual serious relationship for a long while ever since the academy.

Ensign Logan

Keeping an eye on. . . Godness! She is asking me out! V’alura laughed. It wasn’t a mean or unkind laugh, but a quiet and fond laugh. “If you wanted to ask me out you could have just said so.” V’alura said, flashing a smile. “No need to beat around the bush.” She took a bite of her salad, and thought things over with a touch more seriousness. “As I said, it’s worth a shot. Just promise me no more ‘no means yes, yes means no’ kind of talk. I’m a firm believer in good communication. Say what you mean and I’ll return the favor.”

Lt. Jgr. Belmont

“Of course. And besides I’m not that kind of person that says ‘no means yes’ and ‘yes means no’ stuff. And yes I am asking you out and to be my girlfriend.” She said with a slight blush in the cheeks “and I am also a firm believer in good communication as well. So basically what I’m asking will you be my girlfriend?” She asked.

Ensign Logan

Well, this certainly wasn’t how she expected her lunch to turn out! And she could have missed this entirely if she had taken her lunch in her office like she normally did. Something something butterfly effect? Who knows but. . . wow! V’alura smiled while nodding her head, “How can I turn down such a nice offer? Alright, let’s do this. I will be your girlfriend.” It never hurt to try. Maybe thing will turn out to be a really good thing, maybe not. Who knows but she’s willing to take that first step forward to find out.

Lt. Jgr. Belmont

“Really?” As she blushes. She is happy to have found someone and is willing to try something out.

Ensign Logan

“Really,” V’alura confirmed. Ah, that light and bubbly feeling of new love. It’s been a while. “But,” She added with a mischievous look, “I don’t think we can actually say we’re dating until we go on a first date. And since you asked me out, you should decide on the first date.” V’alura leaned forward, her arms crossed and resting on top the edge of the table.

Lt. Jgr. Belmont

“Okay. How about the holodeck and go to the Merce, Paris and uh play pool or go to the holodeck and have it set for Hawaii beach.” Ensign Logan said.

Ensign Logan

“Ahh, Paris.” V’alura sighed dreamily. Pool in Paris sounded like a blast. Romance and billiards, she could see the movie poster now. “Not that Hawaii isn’t nice but it’s been ages since I’ve visited Paris. Yes, we should go there, well, to holodeck Paris.”
