Trax finished with the counselor and moved to the lift and headed to medical a few minutes later he was about to enter the sickbay doors as his belly-flopped hard. ~I am back home??~ He thought to himself quickly as he stepped forward as the doors parted as he moved into the room and seeing another medical officer standing there. “I am Ensign Trax Elbrun Suder returning Jo Medical Officer. Here are my orders and Medical Records.” Trax said kindly with a smile.

Ensign Stacey took the PaDD he was handed and reviewed it promptly. “Bed 15,” Gavin stated as he continued to read the Doctor’s file, “I’ll be with you in a moment.” Doctor Stacey placed Suder’s PaDD onto the computer’s data uplink and waited for the notification that it was finished. In the meantime, the new Doctor made his way over to the closest supply table and grabbed a tricorder and wand. A low, but audible, beep could be heard coming from the data uplink station as Gavin finished holstering his tricorder. Being that the data transfer was completed, he removed the PaDD and brought it with him to see Dr. Suder.

“Since your last physical was just over three months ago, I’ll need to give you a quick exam,” Gavin said. He unholstered his tricorder and fumbled with the wand for a few seconds before being able to remove it from the top. “So you were stationed here before?” The Doctor asked, trying to make small talk as to lessen the awkwardness that might come.

Trax walked over to bed 15 and took a seat as he waited calmly for the officer to deal with his physical. Trax kept quiet unless asked anything. “Yes, I was stationed here before. I am not familiar with you Ensign. I am ensign Trax Suder Jo Doctor Medical officer. Nice to meet you.” he said softly to the officer as he scanned him.

Gavin started at the top and slowly circled the tricorder wand around Ensign Suder’s head, ensuring the data was registering onto the tricorder. “That’s because it’s my first week out of the academy.” Doctor Stacey stated as he moved onto the neck and torso area. “You’re also the first boarding physical I’m performing as well.” He added. Gavin was hoping as a somewhat experienced Doctor, Ensign Suder would be able to give him pointers when new experiences were to arise.

“Ensign Gavin Stacey, at your service.” Doctor Stacey laughed. As he finished up his scans, Gavin snapped the wand piece back in place, closed, and reholstered his tricorder. “You’re definitely fit for duty, with no illnesses or ailments showing up on scans.”

Trax was glad this officer seemed happy and sincere. “Good information to know Ensign Stacey! You might add to your inquiry if there is anything going on with them beyond the scans that might be bothering them just in case its a new ailment or issue that can not be detected by tricorder scan? Its not necessary but its helpful from time to time.” Trax offered the officer. Trax Stood up and turned to face Ensign Stacey. “I am not to post to start my duties till tomorrow but if I am needed sooner please let me know I can wait to unpack my belongings and get settled in later?” Trax offered with a small smile. As he waited for the officer to reply. “I noticed the sickbay was a bit understaffed but it seems rather quiet too.” Trax noticed casually.

Gavin looked around and shook his head. “Ya know it’s not good to jinx us, Doc.” He said laughing. Trax was correct in that it was really quiet aboard the ship. That did make him worry slightly, though. In Gavin’s experience, if it was too quiet something big was going to happen at any moment. “Thanks for the advice though!” Doctor Stacey added. He made a mental note to ask any questions that might not be found on the tricorder if only to add some more spice to his bedside manner.

” I don’t think there’s much to do here right now,” Gavin stated, waving his arm around to remind Trax of the empty bay. ” Though there is a shuttle arriving with new officers if you want to perform their physicals!”

Trax listened to the ensign calmly before he spoke. “If I cause a jinx then I will deal with it when the time comes and I am just a call away.” Trax said kindly to the officer. “I know its slow but that’s a good thing and I know that all is handled here well.” Trax commented to the officer as he moved to the doors of sickbay. as they opened. “Have a good one.!” trax said with a small smile as he headed to the lift.

Gavin watched as the Doctor left to get settled into his quarters. “Hmmmm....” Ensign Stacey pondered as he took a look at his duty PaDD. “Does that mean he’ll do the boarding exams?” He asked himself rhetorically. While not wanting to admit his father was correct, Gavin couldn’t help but hope something more exciting was going to walk through those doors very soon. Surely, he didn’t want to succumb to death by boredom; surely something was going to be more to his day than boarding exams. Sighing to himself, Doctor Stacey placed his PaDD near his computer station and faced the nurse on duty.

“I’m heading to lunch,” Gavin stated, not realizing until now that his stomach was growling with hunger, “I’m one call away if you need me.” With that being said, Ensign Stacey headed out the double doors to the Sickbay, into the corridor, on a new mission called, ‘Operation Feed The Tummy’.
