Main Sim- Sickbay

Posted Jan. 8, 2022, 6:53 p.m. by Ensign Gavin Stacey (Medical Officer) (Ray Branch)

Barely able to keep his eyes open, Gavin shuffled down the corridor with coffee mug in hand. Ensign Stacey was no morning person, and 0400 hours was too early, even for the roosters. Gavin nearly stumbled into the bulkhead as he read his PaDD; multitasking was definitely not his forte. That was something he learned early in life, but never gave it any mind as he’d learn time and time again to focus on just one thing at a time.

“Deck 12, Sickbay 1.” Doctor Stacey called out as he stepped onto the turbolift. Placing his Padd into his pocket, Gavin couldn’t help but to doze off to the sound of the turbolift humming. Thinking to himself, the Ensign knew swore he’d go to bed earlier so he’d be able to function when he woke up the next day. Still dozing, Gavin chuckled knowing that was all thought but no action as he’d probably never go to bed early no matter the time he had to awake the next day. The doctor suddenly opened his eyes as the turbolift stopped and the doors opened. Taking a sip from his mug, the doctor stepped out onto the deck and continued his trek towards Sickbay.

“Great, looks like I’m the early bird.” Gavin stated when he found Sickbay empty, “Now where’s that worm?” He asked half-jokingly. Placing his cup down onto his computer station, Gavin took out his assignment PaDD. It appeared that his assignment for the day was to look over the ship’s logs for any crew anomalies. “That shouldn’t be an extremely hard task,” Ensign Stacey said to himself. “All I need to do is go over the medical exams of the patients, and compare them to healthy scans.” He said to himself. Referring to the Synthesis crew as patients would probably be an understatement, it wasn’t every day people are alive for over 200 years.

“Computer, pull up any medical files you can find on the Synthesis senior staff,” Doctor Stacey called out, “Also include any medical scans that were taken throughout their service prior to the Synthesis being lost.” The Ensign wasn’t sure what he’d find, or if he’d find anything at all.
