“Well Captain, I suppose I should begin by asking about the current status of the Synthesis, and if anything out of the ordinary has been going on. Outside our arrival, I suppose.” Masi said, trying not to say too much too soon.

”..Well right now all systems were last reported to be in the green before your arrival. As I mentioned to your Captain we were testing the effects the Warrens had on our shields when you arrived. Turns out one of the effects after we got off the comms with your Captain we found with our shields raised it caused an unexpected computer access request to the comm array. Hence why we did not reply to your original hails. Right away.” Thomas explained as they left the launch bay and entered a corridor. “..Beyond that no other problems had been reported.”

Rounding a corridor on F deck the team approached a turbolift. After a second or so of waiting the lift door’s opened and everyone filed in. It was of course quite cramped given how many people were present. “..I figure the best spot we could begin unless you all have a better preference is the engine room?” he asked as he keyed in the request to the lift’s panel the lift doors closed and began to move down.

V’alura settled herself tight against the walls of the lift, her hands clasped together behind her back to prevent accidental touches. To Captain Dambrine she inquired, “What do you mean by unexpected computer access request? Do you mean that while your shields were up you were unable to receive any communications or that you could not send any out?”

Lt. JG Belmont, CSO

”..From what one of my engineer’s told me while the shield’s were up we experienced a cross system programming error, this interfered with our ability to send or receive comms..” he explained.

Miz’uki kept quiet for now Not sure what to say especially given the sensitive nature of not giving away too much info though this captain and crew were not stupid they would figure out eventually that one of the two ships was displaced in time and it was not the Ark Angel her tail swished in an anxious way though she tried to keep it a bit more subtle and of course any time she was in an unfamiliar area even if it was another federation ship she kept her senses on high alert

Miz’uki

For Miz’uki listening in on this from her engineering perspective she could theorize this was not too unusual. Ship’s of this era had several cross system connections due to many of the systems sharing similar components of this era. So in all likelihood this was an indication of a software programming glitch. Something she could follow up with soon perhaps.

Trax was ready for what he needed to do as he tried to remember the era uniforms and proper colors to meet with their medical officer. “Excuse me, sir?” Trax said calmly to the nearest officer where is your medical officer? Or can I get an escort to your sick bay?” Trax asked calmly to anyone who was listening. As he did quiet scans of everyone and the area in general. to make sure all was showing proper.

The Synthesis’s Captain turned to Trax. “..Our medical bay is on B and C deck. Once we get things settled in the engine room I’ll take you there next..” he said.

Trax did not say anymore one he did not want the captain to think of him wrongly. He listened and nodded his commands. As he followed the rest around the ship.

Initial scans by Trax as he did so revealed so far nothing amiss. Everyone in the immediate area looked and seemed healthy enough. The Captain as a bit overweight in spots but nothing that would be concerning or alarming of what had drawn them here.

Masi doubled back to what V’alura had asked. “Any idea what caused the computer access request? That sounds like a manual input.” She eyed the engine room, trying the best a counselor could to assess its condition and the attitude of those working in it.

As the lift came to a halt with a soft beep, they opened to reveal H deck. Heading down the corridor a bit the teams soon arrived through a hatch into the Synthesis’s upper main engine room.

OOC: Again for reference you can find the layout of the room/ship here! https://www.star-fleet.com/library/bookshelf/tm/unity.html#idp140293040893264

The room had about four other people in it as they got lead down to the main I deck area of the large room. The soft stable thrumming of the ship’s Warp 5 engine off to their right. Three humans and a Vulcan were present, one of the humans broke off from the other three who went back to some kind of system work. “..May I present my Chief Engineer Lieutenant Ryan Austin..” the Captain said. Then looking to the chief engineer. “..These are our guests from that other ship. They’re here to check out why things seem afoot on their end. Anything to report?” he inquired.

Austin looked over the arrayed group then back to his Captain. “..Nothing to report really. We tracked down that system access request to being a programming error the boys back at Earth must have missed. We already have it pre-patched to avoid it happening again and Salar…” he said indicating the Ensign Vulcan nearby, “..Is checking our other systems to make sure there’s no other similar bugs. So far only thing afoot was the earlier computer power fluctuation report back on the 19th before we got into this muck. Despite Lieutenant Billy saying its not a glitch nothing else shows it isnt anything but.” he added with a shrug.

”..Alright, well alert me if anything changes. For now these folks are going to do some scans and checks. Your team is to assist in any manner needed as long as it doesn’t endanger ship’s safety..” The Captain said getting nods in reply.

Turning then to Trax and the rest, “..Alright so any of you engineering folks on your team can remain here, the rest we’ll stop by the medical bay next for your Ensign to get their scans in and from there go where ever you think next you want to go ok?” he inquired.

Trax faced the captain calmly and quietly. “Of course captain.” Trax said calmly with a kind smile on his face. “I’m sorry if I sound in a hurry or Panic sir! That was not my intention.” Trax said with a small wavering smile. As he continued his scans as they went along you never know when you might pick something up. blindly besides by sight and feelings alone. Trax thought to himself.

Masi held back a chuckle at the ensign’s zealousness. She remembered being that same way when she was as new to Starfleet. “Miz’uki, care to remain back and help out here?” She said, hoping the CE got that she also meant look around a little.
