“Computer, state all known methods of time Travel and or alternate reality travel currently stored within the Starfleet Directory including methods proven and disapproved and from civilian or foreign sources. Produce them in list form to this terminal.” Ella shrugged, “We’re slowly eliminating the possible maybe its time to start looking at the impossible Time causality loops, temporal vortexes, time portals, the Q, alternate realities… It may be that its something we’ve never encountered before, we may need to head over there.”

=/\= Compiling =/\= The computer intoned at the request.

One by one a lengthy history of known anomalies popped up on the screen. The list was quite long and lengthy. There were some similarities to some things though, but nothing that exactly fit what they were facing. Some highlights that Lokaa came up with though were outlined.

1) There was a recorded event of a cross reality convergence with an alternate reality in 2367 by the USS Ice Town a Miranda class light cruiser. They recorded a rip in reality caused by the explosion of a plasmatic nebula and a tear in subspace. Which when combined caused a temporal and reality shift to an alternate reality for the ship and crew. There they discovered that in this reality space, time and the laws of physics operated at a vastly smaller level then in their own reality. In this case the Milky Way Galaxy for example was barely 30 light years across from end to end! Further the passage of time was at a ratio that for every second on the ship passed a year passed outside it. Further the understanding of gravity, warp harmonics, and the like were not only reversed in this reality but would also collapse inward. So in this case an explosion of force instead of going outwards would instead in this reality implode inward! It was only by realizing this that the crew were able to fashion another tear in reality by causing an equal force of implosion like in their home reality, and forcing an explosion like in this alternate reality, there by allowing them to return him safely with only the loss of two shuttle crafts and the destruction of that reality plamastic nebula.

An observation would be noted that the Warrens they were currently residing within was in a large part a nebular with vast storms of plasmatic energy.

2) There was another recorded event in 2386 during the Dominion War where the USS Vulcan an Ambassador class medium cruiser and the SS Athos, an Athos class medium freighter on the run from Dominion forces during the two ship’s flight from the forces attack on Convoy 196 which was intercepted and destroyed minus these two ships when bound for a resupply of Starbase 116 near Deep Space K-3 took shelter in an Ion storm. The damaged ships eluded another engagement but in an effort to find the two escaped ships the Dominion forces in pursuit bombarded the ion storm with high energy plasma charges. This caused an unexpected flux and warping of the local spatial structure that the two sheltering ships were in. When the bombardment ceased after an hour the two ships emerged from the ion storm to find they had been transplanted nearly 12 light years deep into unexplored space from their original position. Due to events in the war at the time, no further follow ups to date on this event had been made. But it was hypothesized that due to both ships having their shields raised and weapons armed in expectations of an attack while hiding this together with the ion storm’s energy and the Dominion’s unique form of plasma charges combined to cause this transplanting in spatial positioning.

Again an observation could be noted that the Warrens had a similar though not quite expect form of plasmatic lighting strikes all over the Warrens and that both the Ark Angel and the Synthesis when they entered the Warrens and found each other in this system had their shields and weapons primed. The Synthesis to test the effects of the Warrens on their systems and the Ark Angel to be ready for anything unexpected that had caused the other loss of ships in the past.

3) The last recorded incident that seemed to provide some clue of similarity was from the SS Griffon and civilian ran old Oberth class science ship. In 2391 this civilian ran crew were performing studies near the home Tellar system on a passing comet. This rogue comet was unusually large for its type and the science team on board wanted to do a closer study on what is make up was. Normal sensor scans provided frustratingly limited in piercing the core of the comet. The team devised a means to modify the Griffon’s deflector dish to emit a large scale high band microwave energy pulse around the comet. In effect ‘cooking/melting’ the outer layers of the massive comet to the inner solid core. What they found though shocked everyone, as the ice melted away they instead found the inner core to not be of ice and rock, but of a spherical metal construct! Further, the microwave pulse also dissipated the layer of nebula like gas that provided the construct with some measure of sensor repulsion. No sooner had the last of the gases faded when the unknown metallic construct spun widely on its axis, and an unknown energy pulse of pure white colored unknown energy pulsed out. When the bright glare faded, and sensors cleared the Griffon found the object had vanished without a trace. Further, long range scans from nearby ships at the time of the incident near the Tellar system reported the same energy blip and vanishing. To this day no sign of this unknown construct, its purpose, origins, or such has been found.

The last observation though that Lokaa could make here was that there was a slight similarity to energy emission waves within the Warrens that seemed similar though not exact to those of this metal sphere.

Mykl wondered why the Captain put her on her current assignment. She wasn’t well versed on the sciences of temporal shifts or plasma energies or many other scientific anomalies so she felt her presence there was more of a hindrance than a help. Listening to the other two discuss possibilities was interesting and once they postulated ideas, she formed her own opinions until something came up that decided her differently.

OOC: Sorry guys but I really don’t know all this stuff. I’ll just play a supportive role here.

OOC: First off D let me apologize if I made you feel left out in this sim or confused/frustrated. When I was planning it out in detail i had gone almost 4 months without a cns and so by the time you came aboard I had to quickly adapt in the fly with less details then I’d like to work you into the sim, in short you’re semi-filling in for a medical jo role in this scientific lead investigation point. Secondly my advice on that point would then be to try to look at things from a psychological/medical perspective something i’d think could fall under a CNS’s education. Try to query the computer, or do scans that might effects the crew, ship or region in some form to relate to the more science end of things. Or if you prefer to bow out of this science end of things, you could return to the bridge to update the Captain on the findings so far, and then i’ll talk to you in pm in discord on how I can better weave you into things for this sim. Again overall i’m quite sorry for this.

OOC: Rob, its no problem. I just know my limits. I can have Mykl sit there and listen and agree (maybe add to the conversation if I get an idea) but her participation in this thread will be minimal. That’s all I’m saying.

“Computer set display screen to whiteboard mode” Ella ordered as she moved over to the largest of display screens. It turned white and offered several options, she began by drawing a large circle in the middle and in the centre writing “Temporal Events” Starting with the Ice Town she began to a branch of with the Date, Environmental conditions, effects, methods before she had the first branch of her mind diagram complete. She highlighted key parts such as Plasma Energy. She did the same for the remaining two topics before she finally had a fully formed diagram. Stepping back she placed her hands on her hips. “Interesting.” She explained

“Well, there’s plenty of similarities between what we’re experiencing now and what these have in the past see here…” She started another branch and labelled it ‘Synthesis’ Plasmatic Energy, Raised shields and The Warrens. She then drew lines from the other branches towards Plasmatic Energy. “Computer detail further studies into temporal travel by means of using Plasmatic Energy as an initiator to rupture a hole through space-time either through time or reality.”

Gavin was en route to one of the science labs to search for the CSO when he was told they’d probably be found in the temporal lab. While the sciences were never Ensign Stacey’s forte, he was curious to see what progress they’ve made so far and how his discovery could further their quest for answers. Unfortunately, Gavin also knew his findings could bring about more questions than answers.

“Lieutenant Belmont!?” Doctor Stacey called out as he entered the lab. Upon seeing the whiteboard the Ensign stopped in his tracks and stared with amazement. It appeared that the science crew had come up with many possibilities, hopefully, his clue would be more helpful after all. After gazing over the whiteboard for a few seconds, Ensign Stacey noticed that the Counselor and another officer were also in attendance. “Excuse me, but I think I’ve found something you’d want to take a look at.”

Najjar observed the new comer’s surprise at the information on the white board. “It was all them. I can’t take credit for any of it.” She said, wondering what the Ensign was going to contribute.

Gavin pulled the PaDD from his back pocket and waved it at the officers. “It might help with… with that.” The Ensign added, gesturing to the whiteboard.
