[snip]Drudoc turned away from her scanning of the ship’s library with no results. Clearing the screen she returned to her center chair in the middle of the bridge. “..NE Borns any updates from the Synthesis?” she asked.
NR Borns turned in his chair from the side comm station, “..Part of the away team has returned to the ship in the biology lab. Report says they captured one of the ‘blobs’ on that ship in 22nd century forcefield emitters. Reports from the remainder of the team on the Synthesis say they’re working on finding the 2nd ‘blob’ now..” he reported.
”..Indeed? Interesting, has there been any changes with the immediate area of the Warrens?” she inquired, looking over to the NE at the science station now.
NE Brads spoke then after a moment, “..Nothing that stan----wait correction we are picking up some shifting energy patterns about .5 light years outside the system we’re in right now. Hard though to make out any details though due to the localized interference..” he said.
Drudoc scratched at her cheek thoughtfully, “..Launch a pair of class-5 probes, alert me once we get more details..” Drudoc said. Turning then to the counselor, “..Lieutenant Marlaa, would you care to visit our ‘blob’ guest in the biology lab? If you believe you could contribute any insight to its behaviors…” she asked then.

Once her team understood their orders and knew where they were headed, V’alura took her leave of the science labs and booked it straight to the bridge. Once arrived, she walked up beside Drudoc, “Captain, I have some rather astounding news about the blob we’ve captured and the Warrens itself that you’ll want to hear. From our analysis of small sample from one of these blobs we’ve learned that they are not singular organisms but most likely parts of a larger whole. A whole that could very well be this entire nebula. These creatures are not entirely in phase with time or space, and that’s how the Synthesis came to be here, it’s why they haven’t sent out their distress signal. Because they were swept up in some part of the creature that phased them out of time!”
V’alura took a breath, along with a mental reminder to slow down, “It seems that these blobs can absorb energy and technology and are in turn attracted to them. When I was on the Synthesis the two blobs were at their computer core but once I became aware of them they fled. That’s how they got split up and we were able to corner one. I have sent some of my science officers to investigate our computer and warp core just in case and to secure them. There’s more, I have our findings so far copied onto this PaDD.”

Drudoc took the PADD and listened to the report, she looked things over. “..This is quite an amazing discovery, a spaceborne creature that spans in theory 4 some light years in all directions? Able to connect to any temporal, physical, or spacial place it wants? Its a discovery if we can confirm for sure would defy every known law about a living organism and spacial travel they use!” She said.
”..However, the fact they seem to absorb technological energy and biological energy is concerning. Ensign Logan while on a security patrol encountered 2 late 1800s era human twin girls which left behind residue that was studied before you captured the blob. This could be an echo of such a feeding before..” She said.
”..There is also evidence here to show these blobs are semi-intelligent or intelligent. The fact they are capable of recognizing their surroundings, changes in it, shows some level of intelligence. There is also the factor to consider that for all intents we and the Synthesis are inside such a creature. Altering it from the inside could have unknowable outcomes to this organism and its future. More information all around is needed..” She said finally handing back the PADD To Belmont. “..I want you to try to establish how intelligent these/this creature is, as well as if there is any means to communicate with it, also what we need to know is how and what factors get them to feed on technological energy and biological energy. Questions?” she asked

Two girls that disappeared?
“Captain, I wonder if those girls were an attempt at communication? Was there anything that triggered either of those encounters?” She glanced to the CSO. “I’m wondering if putting ourselves ‘out there’, so to speak, may instigate another encounter. Perhaps a small shuttle just off the bow? Something we could tractor quickly if needed, but small and less intimidating.” She struggled a moment with figuring the mental line she was following.
She smiled. “As if the Angel was an intimidating parent, the shuttle may be seen as a less intimidating child, more or less. If we could get the shuttle to emit a power pulse of some kind, maybe the entity would consider it a peace offering or perhaps an understanding of what they are.”
First encounters with main bipedal or even quadpedal species she could have handled. But having to figure out first contact with a non entity we leaving her scrambling for ideas.
