Ensign Johnathan Baptiste stepped onto the deck of the USS Ark Angel and looked about for the officer of the deck. Spotting an officer who appeared to be in charge, Johnathan adjusted the straps of his duffle on his shoulder and walked over to the NE Lieutenant Proffitt. Johnathan rendered a proper salute, “Ensign Johnathan Baptiste reporting for duty aboard the USS Ark Angel. Permission to come aboard?” NE Lieutenant Proffitt looked at the young ensign, he was having a very busy day with several supply shuttles coming in with both new personnel as well as supplies, this was the first of the new personnel. He responded “Permission granted, let me have a look at your order’s” he said gruffly. Ensign Baptiste handed NE Proffitt his PaDD. The NE Lieutenant looked over Johnathan’s orders, “Graduated with honors, impressive. The quartermaster has assigned you to quarter’s on Deck 39, starboard side, close enough to Sickbay 3, and the pretty little nurses. I would recommend you drop your kit in your quarters and hustle on up to Deck 12 and check in with your Department head, Lieutenant Gavin Stacey. He can get you orientated with things. Then off to the CNS, Lieutenant Marlaa, and after that most likely the XO, Lieutenant Commander Sifeda Itri. Welcome aboard Ensign” with that he handed Baptiste his PaDD back, and did a double take “I recognize you, you’re the kid that crashed and burned during the Olympic trials aren’t you?” Johnathan blushed and replied “Yep, not my finest moment.” “Hell I didn’t think anyone would recover from that spill, much less become a Starfleet officer. Look me up when you have some free time. Used to be a competitive skier myself, not Olympian level, but good enough.” With that NE Lieutenant Proffitt dismissed Johnathan ‘Got to get back to work, good luck.”
Johnathan quickly left Landing Bay 4 and found a turbo lift. He entered it =^=Deck 39=^= he ordered the lift. It soon swooshed off and deposited him on deck 39. He did a quick turn around looked at his Padd and oriented himself to his quarters. There he dumped his duffel bag on the floor, straightened his uniform and left his quarters. He made his way to the same turbo lift =^=Deck 12=^= again the familiar swoosh as the turbo lift took him to deck 12. Stepping off the lift he again looked at his PaDD and oriented himself towards the CMO’s office. Outside the door he hit the chime.

OOC: Welcome aboard! Just a note, try to keep the topic title as short as possible :) Also, my office is inside the Sickbay.

IC: Upon hearing a chime, Gavin looked up and noticed a new officer standing in front of his office. LtJG Stacey was annoyed that someone would put a chime outside of his office if there were see-through windows lining the entrance. The CMO stood up and went over to the door to see what this officer needed.

“Can I help you, Ensign?” Doctor Stacey asked, trying to sound polite. The CMO noticed that the Ensign had a PaDD in his hand and that since he didn’t recognize the man, it led to one conclusion. “You must be new, huh?”

Stacey (CMO)

Ensign Johnathan Baptiste stood more rigid and at attention replied “Yes sir, Ensign Johnathan Baptiste reporting for both my physical and to my department head, sir.” He then handed over his PaDD to the Lieutenant j.g. in front of him. Johnathan got the impression that his superior was annoyed.

-Johnathan Baptiste, medical

OCC: Thank you. I will definitely work on my titles and lengths.

-Chris
