”..Tel’eck? She is doing well. I assume your inquiry is regarding my injury during our last mission. She was concerned of course probably scared rightfully so. She still is to be fair in dotting on me to ‘take it easy’ when I am off duty. But other then that she is well off and attentive in her studies and friendships..” Drudoc answered.

Sideda smiled, “You should listen to her. She’s a smart girl.”

”..I often do when appropriate, in this case though she believes that as Captain of the ship I can just stop being on any kind of duty after my recovery..” Drudoc said.

It was 8 days later and the Ark Angel dropped from warp outside the Losa system heading in on impulse power. By 0900 hours in the morning they were entering orbit of the planet. Their trip here had been uneventful with nothing noteworthy happening outside or inside the ship to delay them. The 8 day trip was used by most to either get caught up on work, personal hobbies, or just to relax.

Drudoc was in her captain’s chair when the ship entered orbit, as NE Bickins commented they were in a stable orbit over the colony. “..Understood Ensign.” Turning to the comms NE, “..NE Sally please alert the colony administrations of our presence in orbit, and request any time table for delivery by shuttle of their shipments as well as any other concerns we should be aware of. Alert me once you have their leader..” She went on.

Flipping a ship wide comm she said, =/\= All senior staff report to the bridge in 5 minutes. This includes the chief engineer and chief medical officer. Andone out. =/\= She said.

“So, this is our first post office then?” Kyle Anders said from the Security Station on the Bridge, “Looks like quite the holiday spot.”

Sifeda caught up with Anders and accompanied him to the bridge. “I take it that was a sarcastic remark?” She said with a smile. “Doesn’t it seem sketchy? A society capable of technology but choose not to participate in all the technological advances?”

The doors to the bridge opened and she stepped on. She went and stood by the Commodore and said, “It takes it they have not provided us with any additional direction for the mission? Such as how many shuttles will be needed and how often we will need to complete these deliveries for them?”

Itri, XO

“Should be at least 3, since I’ll be bringing along two people and a bag of medical goodies,” Gavin said as he approached the group. “Nearly replicated a lot of 19th-century medical tech until it was pointed I they would probably be okay using modern medicine…” The CMO laughed.

Kaden looked up from where he was working on doing some diagnostics on and tapped his communicator, =/\=Lt Buchanan to the bridge, I am finishing up a quick diagnostic and then will head up towards the bridge.=/\= He then took 2 more minutes to finish up his task and then got up from his desk and walked out of engineering. He was wondering what specifically he was needed for on the bridge for this. It was a simple mail delivery and he was hoping everything would just be smooth but he knew never to expect an easy mission. He took a few minutes to get to the bridge. Before the turbolift doors opened, he straightened his uniform. He walked through the bridge door and said, “Lt Buchanan reporting as expected.” He then proceeded to walk over to the engineering station to wait for more information. He hit the keys in order to active the station and moved the engineering main control to himself at the station.

Drudoc looked up as her staff filed in, “..We are still waiting on communications to begin delivery, however, given much of cargo bays 1 and 2 in the saucer are filled with containers of all sizes many which include according to their shipping manifest parts for mid-1800s style equipment of some size that they can not easily make from scratch with local resources, we will probably need most of our on board shuttle and runabouts. The largest four containers in the shipment would take up the entire rear of our runabouts alone..” She said.

Just at that point NE Sally at comms replied, “..Ma’am? I have colony administrator Steven Harry on audio. Shall I put him through?” She asked.

”..Yes do so..” Drudoc said. A second later a slight static cleared and a man’s voice came through.

=/\= Greetings Commodore Andone! Glad to hear you made your trip from the far frontiers back safe to our little slice of the Federation. =/\= He said in a jovial manner, his accent slightly that of those one might find in the mid-southwestern areas of the United States on Earth.

=/\= Hello Mr Harry. Yes this is Commodore Andone. We had no trouble taking on your request shipment from Starbase 243 and our trip here was uneventful. We are currently in orbit ready to begin transport of your delivery by shuttle and runabouts upon our receiving of appropriate landing coordinates. =/\= She said.

=/\= Not a problem! I know a lot of you Starfleet Captain’s find our requests of delivery and life style strange, even if you would tell me you did not or your crew would say such I would laugh and call you all polite liars! I know how over the years other crews feel slighted that such assignments like these are seen as menial by more modern standards. So let me apologize and we move on to the business at hand. =/\= He said chuckling, =/\= So I am currently sending coordinates to our primary landing and process site here at the colony. We can accommodate up to 4 runabout sized craft at a time, or about 8 shuttles between the four pads, either 1 runabout per pad or 2 shuttles per pad. I recall we ordered some quite larger replacement steam generators we could not fully assemble here planet side so save those for last if you could? We will just have you deliver them on site to the four steam factories nearby where they will go. Easier that way for everyone I think. Any questions so far? =/\= He asked.

=/\= So far no, Mr Harry. We organize the delivery of such as you requested. While we are here though, Starfleet has also had me extend an offer for my ship or crew to help in any way you see fit on any issues you may have on hand. Is there anything else beyond our delivery we could assist you with? =/\= She inquired.

Another small squeal of static cleared and Harry continued, =/\= Well as you no doubt just heard our orbital subspace relay satellite is a bit overdue for some maintence, not quite sure what it is myself, but its part of the reason for our audio only link and the static. So if one or two of your engineering folks could take a look we would be grateful. The relay was last replaced back in 2350 so its a bit out of date, though was serviced last back in 2382, but then Starfleet said something about some big problem they had to handle about something with the Romulans and so have not got back before now.=/\= he said.

=/\= I see, well yes the Star Empire was getting help with a crisis at that time. Things.......=/\= Drudoc paused as if how to relate this news, =/\= Well things fell apart and the Federation’s attention dealing with the fallout likely put you on a lower priority list. I should tell you Mr Harry, that I and some of my crew are Romulan or of Romulan descent. Will this be an issue for you or anyone on your colony? =/\= She said.

A bit of a chuckle came through, =/\= Nah! Long as you folks aren’t coming down to enslave us or force us to convert to modern tech or culture we’ll get along fine! =/\= He said.

Drudoc seemed quite relived to hear that. =/\= I see, well that is good to know then, is there anything else beyond our satellite you need attending too? =/\= She asked.

=/\= Maybe? To be honest I do not have an up to date log of things in front of me right now. Got distracted handling some cow birthing on my farm the past few days. I should have anything else though by the time you comm us for the first deliveries though say in an hour or so if that is ok? =/\= he asked.

=/\= Not a problem Mr Harry. We will alert you then once we are ready to deliver. Andone out. =/\= She said. Then turning to her staff, “..Well ok then, Exec I want you to get things organized with shipping the smaller things down on shuttles first, include any department staff in the first trip down so we got a foot presence to handle anything else planet side. Only exception will be for Lieutenant Buchanan,” she said turning to the new chief engineer, “..I want you to take a team of two NEs with yourself over to the relay. Make sure you first confirm its maintenance area is in a breathable state. No doubt given it was put in lower power mode for life support since 2382 before you go over. See what needs work and do what you can. Everyone else get your teams planet side on our first shuttle trips and chip in on unloading and then any other requests that come in. Any questions?” She asked.

Azon patten the ensign on the back as she was requested on the bridge. “You’re doing a great job! The jo nodded as she spoke “please keep me informed on the progress of your research.” She turned and left the science department and entered the bridge. She relived the ensign at her station.

Azon, CSO

“Commodore,” Anders stepped forward, “With your permission, I’d like to accompany the first runabout to the surface, see what we’re dealing with down there.”
