“Bigger than my quarters at the academy!” Cadet Truhart exclaimed as he looked around his quarters on Deck 44. In reality, the quarters would compare in size to those at the Academy, they only seemed bigger because Jensen wouldn’t have a roommate on the Ark Angel. The Cadet opened up his small closet and began hanging up his clothing making sure to separate his causal wear from his duty and dress uniform. Jensen finished unpacking his duffel bag and laid out his Cadet uniform, then headed over to the sonic shower.

“Computer, activate log and mark with current stardate,” Truhart called out as he stepped into the shower. “Cadet Jensen Truhart’s personal log, this ship doesn’t compare to all of the simulations I’ve endured over the past 3 and a half years I’ve been at the Academy. With 45 Decks, one could compare it to a dreadnought if it wasn’t for the exploration profile. This is no Chandley Class…” The Cadet said referring to the small starship class that most Cadets take their senior cruise on. Jensen didn’t realize that the sound of the sonic shower would be heard in the background of his personal log, nor would he care if he did realize.

“I’m supposed to report into Sickbay before meeting with my superior officer, some guy named Trainor, and then with Captain.... excuse me… Fleet Captain Andone.” Cadet Truhart said as he turned off the shower and stepped out, reaching for a towel to dry off with. “I’m not due for a psych eval for another few weeks, but I’ve heard Lieutenant Freeman had a unique approach to his style…whatever that means.” Jensen dried himself off and went over to his bed and began putting on his uniform.

“I haven’t heard from my brother Anthony in a few weeks, and I’ve heard about the Wolverine, so gods only know what they’re up to.” He said. The Cadet walked up to his mirror to make sure his combadge and Cadet pips were aligned correctly. “Anyway, I’ll try again later tonight....” Jensen paused for a second as he looked at himself in the mirror. “Computer, end personal log”.

Jensen combed his hair and straightened out his uniform once more before walking over to his door. “Wish me luck.” He said to himself before walking out into the corridor.

Finding that Lieutenant Commander Trainor wasn’t available for check-in, Jensen continued on to his next destination. “Deck 1, Bridge.” The Cadet called out to the turbolift. Truhart made sure to hold onto his orders since the Cadet was sure he’d fumble to retrieve them. While usually a confident person, Jensen hadn’t come into contact with many Captains during his time in the Academy. There was, of course, the few command level officers that assisted the Cadets with simulations, but they weren’t considered the greats!

The turbolift came to a stop and Cadet Truhart stepped off onto the Bridge. Jensen spotted Trainor at Ops, but seeing that the man looked busy, he continued on towards the Captain’s Ready Room. After pressing the chime, Truhart took a step back from the door. His past experience taught him that standing too close to an office door might come with unfortunate consequences, and things not meant to be seen.
