Entering behind the crew member of the station, Simon followed them through the crawl space, making note of when turns were made so he would know potential exits should things go badly. Unlike a lot of people, he didn’t seem to mind the enclosed spaces.

The XO’s climb down to deck 32 was one in almost darkness beyond the light from his hand unit and those from his guide. Eventually he came out into a open engineering room four decks in height setup around a large globe like core which likely was the singularity core. A grey haired man in a jumpsuit and overalls was furiously typing and running from station to station occasionally hollering at poor station NEs about one thing or another about balancing the power reaction.
”..Um..Chief Shaden? You got a visitor!” The XO’s guide said.
