[snip]Just then the power drain suddenly stopped on the station and power spiked up back to almost normal operations. Scans showed the dampening field around the egg like thing on deck 15 had been dropped by the away team there. Some larger form of life was picked up showing up as some sort of dragon like creature born for both atmosphere and space based life. Immediately too shortly after Shodan’s field dropped confirming Trainor’s scans of the organic like pellets, from a guess they appeared to share similar biology make up to the newly born dragon beast, perhaps food?
Drudoc though at this report shook it off, “..Put that to the side for now, begin a full sweep of scans for any other ships Starfleet or otherwise in the area, perhaps using a cloak. Initiate a wide polaron sweep as well..” She said.

“Starting the polaron sweep now, Captain,” Trainor replied. Once the sweep began, the Operations Chief turned back to the Captain. “I’m also going to scan for any decaying warp signatures and check the database for any ships that were logged entering the area.”

Scans came back but no detectable warp signatures known or not came up. Polaron scans equally were inconclusive. Logs for ships coming or leaving were just for the Ark Angel in the past day, no others present beyond in system limited shuttles or the like. Certainly nothing coming into or out of orbit. It seems their murderers whoever they were had gotten away with the deed! How this might impact the alien’s relationship with the Federation having newly joined wasn’t clear yet.

Following the report from the Science officer, another comm was received on the bridge. . =/\=Lieutenant Commander Starr to Ark Angel. I think we’ve determined the source of the power drain. There is a lifeform currently on deck 13, and it may have hatched. Mazi, Eve and Arthur are already there and I’m on my way with Shodan=/\=

We have a situation?=^= The word came out as if unsure it was the right choice of vocabulary. =^= A kind of winged creature has hatched and apparently now believes Eve is its mother. And umm… well, she seems to be a bit overzealous in her role as such.=^= There wasn’t exactly anything ‘wrong’ yet. Well, except that one of the crew was now protecting a creature that this ship had been keeping in stasis. And everyone else seemed eager to treat the thing like an overgrown lapdog. It didn’t sit well with Mazi… not one little bit. And her voice made that thought evident.

“I’ll attempt scans of this creature and send any relevant data to your console, Captain.” Trainor announced after hearing the reports. The Operations Chief would then cross reference the results with the Starfleet database, once the scans came back.
