Mazi walked over to the security team. “We need to get as much of this cleared out as soon as possible. Let’s see if we can get site to site transporter permission first. I think the less people in here, the better.” She then tapped her comm badge. =^=Cargo Bay 1 to bridge. We have the… creature here. It is wanting more food and clawing at a ration crate. Permission to open this one for him and site to site transport the rest to Cargo Bay 2 to keep it out of reach?=^= For now it was all she could think to do. This was a science thing, not an engineering issue and she felt way more out of her depth. Had she been in charge, they certainly wouldn’t be on the Angel right now.

=/\= Permission granted on both accounts Lieutenant. Security should be there to assist if needed..=/\= She said.

Simon had returned with the creature and the away team to the cargo bay. He needed to get more of an update on the situation, and looked toward Arthur with a nod as the captain’s request came through. He turned to Mazi and said “Let Security deal with opening the crate, in case something goes badly, Ensign,” he said. She had taken initiative while he was stuck in the discussions with Shodan, and monitored the Ensign’s behaviour.

=/\=Starr to Lieutenant Freeman, when you are done on the planet, we have an interesting situation developing here with a couple of our crew members that I think your presence would be helpful for=/\= he said, tapping his commbadge. He turned to Frogue and said “find out everything you can about this thing, we know a little but the more we know the more we will be able to help it,” he explained. “And work with Medical with the behavior of Eve and Kala,” he added.

“Miz’uki, work on something that will make our guests time more comfortable,” finally he turned to the Eve and Kala, having monitored their odd behavior, and was uncertain of their current mental state, said “you two, look after your new friend,” he said simply. “Any questions?” he asked, before making his way to the cargo bay door.

As soon as they were back and he saw his men entering the cargo bay, Arthur began coordinating efforts. “Open that one crate up,” he said to one of the security detail, “the rest of you, grab hover carts, let’s move the rest of this where this…thing…can’t get it.” He said, moving over to one of the other crates.

Kala was feeling a bit of transporter sickness from being plucked from one location another but when she thought she was going to throw up her stomach growled.” All this talk of food, have we got anything we can eat?” She looked to Eve and Jabber and hen sighed, “That I can eat” The young Trill science officer also kept her eye on the security teams, all this for Jabber was completely unnecessary she thought.

Mazi came over to Arthur and shook her head. “See if we can keep the main bulk of folks in the hall and coming in in small teams to move the crates. We don’t know about this creature or how the relocation will affect it. Let’s see about keeping as few folks in here as possible. Perhaps four in here to move the jacks to the door, and teams in the hall to hand fresh jacks in and take the full ones away? How’s that sound?” She was talking to him at the same time as she was assessing the spacial situation as they moved around. She was going to have to find a way to make a ‘bed’ of sorts for the creature and wasn’t even sure what to make it out of. Perhaps soft packing material covered in blankets… they could all be replicated easily and weren’t toxic to the creature. She hoped.

As the security detail carefully opened the crate Jaber once they were out of the way, moved in cautiously sniffing. It nosed around before pulling out packs labeled ‘Emergency Ration Pack Type A’ which was a heavily plant based ration type, the B types which were meat products it too sniffed at but using a clawed hand tossed them aside. “..Food!” it said excitedly digging into the Type A’s.

Simon saw that as he waited for the answer and made a note. “At least it’s a herbivore,” he shrugged. “So it’s not going to eat the crew…” he commented. “I’m heading up to the bridge, report in if anything changes,” he said as he made his way out of the cargo bay.

Lt. Frogue said, “Sir, maybe I could get some better scans from my bridge station as well. The main computer maybe able to do better than what I have here.”

Frogue

The android displayed no acknowledgement or ever awareness of any of the individuals in the cargo bay, save for Gorvel. Her complete, unwavering focus was on her baby, observing silently as Jaberwock tore into the ration packs and began to devour them, hungrily.
“It appears that the act of being born has given our baby a considerable appetite,” she remarked to Kala, her own eyes never leaving the dragon.

  • Eve (Eng)

Jaberwock eventually finished up the assorted plant based rations leaving quite the mess in packets for some poor group of NEs to clean up at some future date. Sniffing around some more it seemed satisfied after eating and moved to near the cargo bay exterior hatch doorway which was obviously closed and the force field powered behind the door to space. Pawing a claw at the door its talon foot left a small indent into the door frame. “..Out!” It declared, then looked to Eve and Kala. Confusion seemed present on its features as it seems that the barrier in its path wouldn’t budge as its tail swished back and forth behind it in an anxious almost eager like fashion.

Mazi watched with a slight frown on her face. It was fine in the bay for now, but if it grew to the proportions of mythology, it would outgrow the bay in short measure. When it went for the cargo bay door, she stepped forward. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

Mazi tapped her comm and her voice wasn’t one of happiness. =^=Cargo bay to bridge… it seems the thing wants out. I don’t think it’s a good idea. But it seems insistent.=^= She watched Eve’s reaction to the thing and wondered if the woman was truly in awe, or in some kind of mind thrall not of her own doing.

“Why can’t we just take Jabber about, a little walk? We’ll stay away from any sensitive areas. I bet he’ll love the holodeck!” Kala said with a beaming smile, “I mean seriously look at him what harm could he do, he’s so cute and…” He looked to the engineering, “Come on how would you feel having to live inside this cargo bay Mazi?” She said frowning sadly.

  • Ens. Kala Gorvel

“No.” Arthur said, moving to put himself between Jabberwock and the door. “You all can leave, however, we do not yet know the capabilities of this thing, and if it gets startled, I’m not going to have someone die because of it.”
