Seph moved back to the other terminal and began typing again. “So I’ll do a check for luggage and equipment.” A moment later she smiled, “I’ll also do a check for anything registered in their names for pickup once they arrived. If they’re hiding something, maybe it was set up for them here, or sent ahead. But being offworlders, it would be registered someplace in their names.” She glanced up at Lawrence with a half smile, “Wouldn’t it?”

“That would. But it is no longer necessary,” said Admiral Frederic. She was in her isomorphic like form. Present but yet not exactly present. “Mr. Lawrence, I am happy to inform you that my agents have reported in. They had to go deep and escape with their lives. The report they gave me regarding the situation is troubling and they were able to recover a questionable item – however, it seems to be only half of the picture with the troubles there. Sufficient to say, there is an unknown influx of GPL that was not generated by questionable means and from unknown sources outside of the Ferengi Empire. The money used from both sources is the cause of the upheaval, and should be significantly reduced now that the item is no longer in play – but there are still a considerable amount of resources being brought in to cause this turmoil, and Starfleet Intelligence’s primary mission for you still has not changed – Find the Ambassador and put to a stop to whatever is causing this instability in the Ferengi Empire.”

It was clear from the startled look on Seph’s face that she was a little lost. “Ummmm… What was that about?”

“Beats me,” Paris said in a low whisper to Seph. “I know we have holographic transmissions but this is kinda ridiculous.” Paris looked at the image of the woman that literally seemed to appear out of thin air. Typically everyone knew a holographic projection when they saw it but this one was so real looking. Paris half wanted to stick out a finger and poke it.

“I can hear you, Lieutenant Commander Carisi. Sufficient to say, I am here physically present, and that is all you know,” said Admiral Frederic.

OOC: She’s still there with you, FYI…
IC:
“That, Lieutenant Milestone is on a need to know basis. Sufficient to say, Mr. Lawrence’s secondary intelligence mission is completed. His primary mission still remains,” said Admiral Frederic.

“If it is complete half as fast as this first one we will be home in time to watch the Walking Dead: Neegan takes Risa,” Paris said saracastically.

She glanced from Paris to Lawrence hoping someone would fill in the blank.. the huge blank.

“So any chance we have a better idea on where to look for the ambassadors or do we click our heels together and says ‘there’s no place like the one with the ambassadors in it’ three times in a row and get sapped there?” Paris was used to the intrigue and secrecy where the intelligence community was involved but this was like something out of a science fiction movie. LIfe like holograms, missing ambassador. The only thing on their side was that none of the trio had the name Guy.

Lt. Commander Paris Carisi, COS

“Ruby red slippers withstanding, Ms. Carisi, Mr. Lawrence should double check on Starfleet Intelligence safehouses. My hunch is that the Ambassador elected not to use safehouses that are known the Embassy, in the event that such information might have been compromised and/or if computers at the Embassy were compromised,” said Admiral Frederic.

As if on cue, there was a loud banging that could be heard from the first floor of the Embassy, as if someone was trying to break in.

GM

Seph watched as the image came and went, complete with Paris being ‘hand slapped’ for talking out of turn. The idea made her smile slightly as an ‘image’ gave Paris the “I’m stll here and can hear you” treatment.

As the sound of banging happened below, Seph startled but at least managed to not squeal in fright. “Well, someone wants your attention,” she glanced at Lawrence and smiled trying to ease the tension she felt creeping up the short hairs on the back of her neck.

The banging grew only louder.

“Is it wrong to hope she is stuck in an air vent,” Paris said looking at her roommate. “Because if it is not then someone either wants us to rescue them or a mob is coming to throw us into the equivalent of a Ferengi hooskal. I say we take a chance and go help them.” Pulling a phaser from her holster she flicked the setting to stun. “I mean a mob or the police have to say they are coming in whether we want them to or not right?”

Lt. Commander Paris Carisi, COS

Seph sighed. Why couldn’t this just be a tag or hunt n find game. Why did it always seem to turn into mobs, or confrontational maniacs? She had a phaser of her own, but wasn’t ready to draw it yet. Paris and Lawrence were the front line here. Not that she couldn’t. Just that something told her that perhaps she shouldn’t… at least, not yet.

Given that they were in the Ambassador’s suite, they could clearly see the main floor from their vantage point. The door to the embassy downstairs broke with a loud crash. 3 large Nausicaans busted through the embassy. The standard computer voice spoke across the compound, “Unauthorized entry detected. Engaging automated security defensive systems. Federation personnel are to shelter in place.”

Specifically, the voice continued in the Ambassador office. “Locking down the Ambassadorial suite.”

“No no no no,” Paris moved swiftly to console. “We are not getting locked in here.” She was not thrilled with the idea of being hoed in an a office she doubted could stop the onslaught of Nasusicaans and minimal weapons to defend themselves.

They watched as a forcefield surrounded the three Nausicaans. They laughed… as three more Nausicaans came behind them and shot down the shield emitter. The forcefield came down.

They were making their way to the elevator, and one of the Nausicaans was using a device. Seems like they were doing a little hacking.

GM

Seph growled under her breath. “Lawrence, I suggest if you have and abilities here, you lock down, purge, back up, delete or do whatever it is you need to do the files in this place. I am guessing they are looking for something, and it’s probably not us.”

She did pull her phaser at this point, and moved a bit further from the door. Whatever else the Nausicans were, they were persistent.

“Seph you’re brilliant,” Paris said. “If we can find a place to lie low and out of site we can let the Nausciaans find what we need and then just steal it back from them. We just need a place to stay out of sight until then.” With the odds stacked against them like this Paris did not think laying low was cowardly. Nothing in the universe except for another human being was worth dying over and there was no way they could hold the people approaching off unless the room had a closet that doubled as an armory.

Lt. Commander Paris Carisi COS

Carisi would notice a button on the wall. It read, “In case of emergency…”

Once pressed, a palm print identification device appeared. After the computer did a scan and sensor scan, a forcefield dropped and a holographic wall disappeared to reveal a small armory. It had 5 phaser rifles, 1 phaser sniper rifle, and 5 standard phasers.

GM

Looking around the room for someplace large enough to hole up Paris noticed something else. Small red letters indicating the room did have a safety feature. Crossing the room in a full run Paris skidded to a stop before an indescript panel. The red lettering of “In case of Emergency place hand here” and glowing red palm print had not been there ten minutes ago. Maybe the Nausciaans invading the embassy had triggered it but regardless of how it got there, it was there. Paris pressed her hand to the print revealing a small armory behind the panel. “Now this is what I am talking about,” Paris said. “Seph” she called to her roommate already handing her a phaser rifle and a phaser. “You do remember how to shoot them right?” The question was not meant to be insulting or demeaning. In times of stress people tended to panic or hyperfocus. Paris knew her roommate. Seph would hyperfocus on the situation and see things others would miss. That would come in handy when the crap hit the fan but at this second, Paris just needed to know she remembered the basics of armory 101.

Lt. Commanderr Paris Carisi COS

Seph frowned as Paris ran for the back wall. The handprint was visible to Seph a split second before her ex roommate had slammed her hand down on it. The resulting armoury made Seph actually laugh out loud. “Ask and ye shall receive? Really Paris? Next time ask for a Fleet rescue squad. Cute ones to the last man!” She laughed as she caught the rifle. “If I didn’t remember, you’d just drag me to the holo decks again soon as we got back. Yes, dear… I remember.” She did a quick field check of the energy pack and the operation of the rifle.

The rifle was 80 percent charged. Seems like power of the embassy was diverted for awhile. The rifle was well maintained however.

Paris had spent time with her after making CoS seeing to her own weapons’ quals. Paris had said Seph was going to be needed at her back if the ship went sideways in space. Never in a million light years did the Science Chief ever think it would be necessary. But she had kept up, excelled and impressed her darker, gungho companion. While she would rather inspect life, the Nausicans were a life form she would be happy to inspect in death if they breached the room they were in. Glancing to the third in their party, she smiled. “Hope you can keep up, Lawrence.” She laughed and winked as Paris drooled over the sudden godsent weapons a moment more before turning her vision back to the pending invasion.

“Warning: intrusion into computer systems detected. Automated defenses will activate in 10 minutes. Unauthorized personnel are to surrender to Starfleet Personnel,” warned the computer.

From their vantage point, they saw the computer initated an electrical shock to the panel the Naausicans opened up. The aliens howled and screamed in surprise.

Two of them broke off from the group, apparently looking for an alternative access point to climb up.

GM

OOC: GM, is there a way you can write me into this part of the sim? Maybe I beam down for something medical or whatever? I would just like to be apart of the main sim.
