The morning had arrived and the new shift was due to come on duty; this would be Ensign Frogue’s duty shift. He always looked forward to his shift, after all that is why he had went to medical school.

Arriving 15 minutes early, the Ensign thought he would make a good impression on the new Chief!

OOC: Sorry, I posted this to avoid AWOL.

Ens. Frogue

James walked out of his office and looked toward the main sickbay doors to see a young officer in a blue science/medical uniform waiting for something. A new doctor was due that day. “Doctor Frogue?” He called from where he stood. “Follow me into my office.” He turned on a dime and returned to his office.

When they were both inside, James looked over his shoulder to the young doctor. “You are indeed Ensign Timothy Frogue, M.D.?” He asked, walking around behind his desk.

Sitting down in one of the chairs in front of the CMO’s desk, he stated, “Sir, I am here to serve, heal, and I hope save a few lives.”

“Leave healing to the mystics and sages. We’re doctors.” James was charming as ever. “Saving lives however, you will have plenty of opportunities for that. From my information on what this ship does, it gets into trouble without much in the way of backup. We’re going to have a lot of fun in triage. Tell me, Dr Frogue, what sort of experience do you have? What can I expect from you?”

-Lt James Stark, CMO

Sir,

“I have my training and short experience at Starfleet Medical. What you will get out of me is my best; I wil do everything I can serve you, the ship, and our Captain the best I can. Of course, I am only human and have a lot to learn. That said, I know I have a lot of learn and will take every chance I get to do just that, learn.”

Frogue kept talking, and talking, not letting the CMO get an word in edge wise. Frogue figured the more he said, the better off he was.

James raised an eyebrow. “You do indeed have a lot to learn. Here. I’ll give you one lesson free. Keeping your superiors on the back foot doesn’t win you any favours. I learned that the hard way too. Your allegiance to the Captain, that’ll get you plenty of favours. Here’s the thing, Frogue. This ship, it doesn’t matter who you’re loyal to. You could tell me to go to hell and storm out right now, your job doesn’t change. A security officer is going to come in, he’s been shot. An engineer’s going to come in, the warp core almost blew up in her face. This place is 24/7, 365 triage. That’s how it is on a ship of the line. Your Academy record says you’re good. Time to prove it Ensign. What do you think of your job? You got it under control?”

-Lt James Stark, CMO

Looking over at Lt. Stark, Frogue said, “Sir my rank of Ensign is only because I have less time in service; only because I am younger, and only because I still have a lot to learn. That said, I will preform the best I can. I am not into kissing people’s rear ends, nor will I do it. What I will do is follow orders, help those that come within those doors (pointing at the medical bay doors) and do what I am told, when I am told. Also, you will never get anything but my best. Personally, I think I should be promoted to the rank of Lt (j.g.) but that is not my call and I am not sore about either. In short, I am here to do my job, doctor.”
