OOC: I am doing this so I don’t go AWOL, my other thread died.

Ensign Frogue entered sickby at 0730 hours like he did everyday. As he relieved the night watch, he sat down at a medical computer and started to look over the day’s logs. Sitting there for a bit Frogue thought to himself, “Now what trouble can I get myself into today?”

Frogue

Andromeda, a woman who often found herself hurt from some pitiful choice she had made in the engineering bay, wound up in the sickbay. This time, however, it had nothing to do with her own stupidity, and instead something that wasn’t her fault. Coughing into the crevice of her arm, she made her way through the sickest doors.

Hearing the doors open Ensign Frogue say the Engineer walk in. He has seen Sentrya before, but he had never spoken to her. Seeing she was injured, Doctor Frogue said, “come over to Bio-bed one. Please tell me what happened, Chief.”

Doctor Frogue

Nodding, but regretting it at the sense of lightheaded-ness that soon washed over her, she made her way over to the biobed, disgracefully sitting down upon it. Or, seeing as small as she was, jumping onto it. “I’m not sure.. I woke up this morning with massive nausea and one hell of a pain in my head— a headache, I think they’re called?” She frowned, pinching her nose to try to alleviate some of the pain, something she had very seldom experienced before. It seemed “normal”…

While listening to the engineer the young doctor asked, “Has this happened to you before? Did you perhaps hit or head on something? While this might seem like small questions, I would rather make sure than be wrong.”

OOC: Sorry about that…been a busy week.

Frogue

“No. I have never experienced something like this, before.” She held her breath, for a second, to try and keep the nausea from overpowering her. “A simple ache from here and there, but nothing-.” Another pause, “You might want to have a bucket over here, doc, I don’t want to throw up on your bed.”

The young doctor replied, “I think we can talk care of your tummy.”

With that the Doctor gave the Engineer a shot, which he thought would do the trick.

“Okay, you should be feeling much better in a minute or two, sir” mentioned the doctor.

Frogue

“Thank you, Doctor.” The engineer offered only a soft sigh in response, waiting for the medicine to kick in and end the nausea of her stomach. “Will it help with the ache in my head, as well?” She asked, not knowing much about medicine.

Looking at her he responded, “Most likely, I believe they are connected. Sir, I believe you what have what used to be called, “the flu.” I will have to remove you from duty for 24 hours to allow your body to rest. We can treat the symptoms, but problem must run its course. I believe it explains all of your issues.”

Doctor Frogue

“The what? You mean that old disease that humans used to get? The one they had to find all sorts of ways for treating every year?” She didn’t know much about the flu, only that she didn’t like the sound of it.” Before she could say more, she coughed into her arm, more of a gag reflex than anything to do with her throat. “Are you certain that is necessary? If your medicine works, I’m sure I can do just fine on the job.” Ah, another stubborn engineer.

The Doctor responded, “Sir, it matches all of your symptoms and the gag you just had. Yes, we have ways to make you feel, somewhat, better; however, the only true way to heal is in your bed. It will take 24 to 48 hours. I am going to give you a hypo-shot and send you to your quaters to rest. The only other alternative, is for me to hold you here and I bet your quarters is better for you. I will enter in the ship’s log that you are ordered off duty for 24 hours. Please don’t make me have to hold you here. Go get some rest.”

“My bed and I have a very rocky relationship, Doctor.” The woman muttered beneath her breath, reluctant to have to ignore duty for 24hrs. She didn’t enjoy being bored. Sentrya was a hyperactive woman, which did sort of make sense when one looked at how much movement she generally had. “Fine. Fine.” The Engineer wove her hand. “I’ll go.”

With that the doctor gave the engineer a hypo-shot and went over to the computer to enter the off duty status.

Doctor

“Thank you,” Sentrya got to her feet, “May I go now?” She inquired, slightly impatient.
