Natalie looked at Mason but didn’t interrupt him, he was right and that was a very odd stance. It could also explain the Ferengi that had approached her and given her the fine. Maybe she wouldn’t pay that after all and see what happened. She shook the thought from her head and turned her attention back to the three officers standing in front of her. She looked at Lawerance “Mr. Lawerance…what do you have to add to this?” She asked pointedly.

Bump 12.7.18 (for posting sake)

OOC: Seeing as a critical player is not responding, I’m going to fill in.

IC:
As if being possessed by another entity, it was Lawrence who spoke, but seemingly another person… but the crew didn’t take notice of the change. “It’s obvious that the reforms created by Grand Nagus Rom has caused the opposition to use fear tactics to shift the blame on outsiders and especially the Federation. Obviously, someone wants to get rid of Federation officials by any means possible and make an example out of them.”

Paris was not one to hold her tongue. “Okay but if we got our orders from someone in the Federation, then why send us into a setup,” she asked. “Our presence there would only serve to exacerbate the situation. It would make the Federation look guilty for something we didn’t do.

Seph frowned. He had led them down there, led ‘her’ down there and now they were all pawns? It didn’t make sense, she half murmured, “So someone hired those thugs to kill us and the place was empty on purpose?” She crossed her arms and glared at Lawrence, unaware like the others, that he wasn’t himself.

“If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck,” Paris agreed with her roommate just in a slangy sort of way. She, like Seph, didn’t want to sell Lawrence down the river exactly but Paris was just as peeved that Lawrence involved Seph. At least Paris had an idea they were sneaking into somewhere they should have been going. Seph had been blindsided from the start. Paris just hoped Seph would understand the unspoken rule of orders were orders even when they left a bad taste in your mouth. During all of this Paris made sure there was zero eye contact between her and Mason. One look from him and Paris would start rambling and ranting. There would be time for that later in his quarters. Right now however, there were on duty and for all intents and purposes, Mason and Paris were only Starfleet officers.

Lt. Commander Paris Carisi. COS

Straightening up, she shook her head. “Permission to go, Captain?” She hoped it was granted, she needed to go punch something. If she stayed in here, it was going to be Lawrence. His power had gone to her head and she was almost killed for it. It wasn’t sitting well with her.

Natalie looked at Seph “No you’re not dismissed.” She said “You can deal with your anger later.” She said “So what you are saying, Mr. Lawerance, is that this was all a set up.” She said “Give me something else.” She said “This is ridiculous. I want answers, tell me where I can find Rom. ” She said and looked at Black “Scan the entire damn planet, I want Rom found and brought to the Asimov.”

Natalie sighed she was not getting anywhere fast and she had a feeling that there were many things amiss. She looked at Lawerance, Seph and Parisa “Ok. The first thing the three of you are going to do is report to Sickbay and make sure that you are cleared of everything and that everything is okay. Once you are done there, you will report to the Bridge and start scanning Feringar for Rom and whoever else we need to find. There will be no arguments, discussion or anything else.” She looked at Seph and Parisa “You two, I want reports on everything that happened down on the planet and in the building.” She said “Everyone is dismissed except you Commander Black.” She said standing behind her desk, her hands behind her back, her face severe looking. It was very clear that Natalie was not pleased, she touched her comm badge “Lt. Sentraya start scanning the planet for any signs of Rom. If you find him, find a way to beam him to the Asimov immediately.” She said

Seph nodded like a chastised child. “Yes, Ma’am…” She glanced once more at Paris, feeling sorry that her roommate got stuck in this, then at Lawrence. Her look to him wasn’t as kind. But it was swift and she disappeared out the door. She didn’t need to be told twice when the first time included a swat at her proverbial backside.

((do we actually need medical thread, or just to bridge for reports and scanning?… Meli))
<OOC: Go ahead and do a medical thread and then report to the Bridge. Figure out what you’re going to tell the Captain in your report...... :)

Natalie watched as the trio left her ready room. “Mr. Black. Your thoughts. I don’t like this. The Ferengi are not like this. This is costing them latinum and they are not going to stand for that for long.” She said “We have got to find Rom and whoever else is missing or has been threatened.” She said

CO

“Incoming message from the surface, Captain.”

The viewscreen turned on. It was Grand Nagus Rom, and behind him, surprisingly, the Federation Ambassador. “Captain, as you can see, your Ambassador is safe. He will be beaming up to your ship shortly. As for the current affairs of the Ferengi Empire, I assure you this is an internal matter, and any interference would be subject to a violation of the Prime Directive. For now, foreign embassies are advised to vacate the planet for the time being while we handle this internal dispute. Good day.”

The viewscreen turned off. An incoming request for a transporter beam was initiated, asking if the Federation Ambassador could come aboard.

OOC: End of mission.
